[Bacula-users] Problems with recycling
Hi
I am tetsing Bacula. I have configured it to work with mysql. I have
one pool with only one tape. There are 5 jobs to be backed up on that
tape. Jobs are running weekly. This is the pool configuration:
Pool {
Name = PoolCintasDiariasMartes
Pool Type = Backup
AutoPrune = yes
Volume Retention = 5 days
Recycle = yes
}
Then, the 5 jobs run ok. But next week tape has status Append, and
should be Used, isn't it? because 5 days is the volume retention, so
after 5 days the tape should be recycled. (i have read the
documentation, mainly this page
http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Automatic_Volume_Recycling.html).
If i change the pool to look like this:
Pool {
Name = PoolCintasDiariasMartes
Pool Type = Backup
Use Volume Once = Yes
AutoPrune = yes
Volume Retention = 5 days
Recycle = yes
}
After the first job, the tape is marked as used and bacula requests me
one appendable volume for the next job.
Any idea about why bacula does not mark the volume as used after 5
days with the first pool configuration?

[Bacula-users] The number of files mismatch!
Hi I am getting this error when bacula fails running a job (the client gets blocked, i. e.) and using again the tape used when got the error. 8-Aug 23:00 BackupDirector: Start Backup JobId 198, Job=BackupPC-Calidad.2007-08-08_23.00.00 08-Aug 23:00 backup-sd: Volume CintasDiariasMiercoles-01 previously written, moving to end of data. 08-Aug 23:01 backup-sd: BackupPC-Calidad.2007-08-08_23.00.00 Error: I cannot write on Volume CintasDiariasMiercoles-01 because: The number of files mismatch! Volume=78 Catalog=77 08-Aug 23:01 backup-sd: Marking Volume CintasDiariasMiercoles-01 in Error in Catalog. 08-Aug 23:03 backup-sd: Job BackupPC-Calidad.2007-08-08_23.00.00 waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes. Please use the label command to create a new Volume for: Storage: HPUltrium1 (/dev/st0) Media type: Ultrium-1 Pool: PoolCintasDiariasMiercoles I think that when bacula is making a backup, it inserts the current file in the database, but if client is blocked, the file is not backed up, so the number of files in the tape and in the catalog are different; could this be the reason? [Bacula-users] Tapes in error status
Hi When some error ocurrs when doing a backup, the tape used get the status Error. How can i change the status so i can use again that tape without needing to delete it and add it again? If i manually set the status Append the job runs but i get an error saying that the number of file in the tape is not equal to the number of files in database. Hi
I am trying to backup many computers into one tape, but when a job is
finished i get this error:

only one schedule for all jobs.

The problem is that the first scheduled job, works fine, but once
finished, the next job is waiting with that message. I want all jobs
in the schedule be stored in the same tape.

that mean you do not have volume for this pool
and u need to create one using label command in bconsole
*label hit enter
it will tell you what to do next
then bacula will create volume with this label for pool

yes
you need labeled your tape... use 'label' in bacula

[Bacula-users] Terminated jobs and translating email messages
Hi I am trying to delete all data from bacula to start again. I have dropped the mysql database and when i run status director, it is empty, but when I run status storage i have the old terminated jobs. I have deleted too /var/lib/bacula/*.state, *.bsr and *.connmsg without success. How can i remove those terminated jobs? One more question. Is it possible to translate the email messages that bacula sends? Can i custom them?
