[BAROQUE-LUTE] "Schubert" before Schubert in an Austrian lute ms.
Dear lutenists, I seem to have been hyperactive this weekend... ;-) Anyhow, if someone is interested in hearing a piece by "Schubert" about 100 years before real Schubert, you can find it in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrnUpH9-yig&feature=youtu.be and http://vimeo.com/42502142 Best, Arto On 19/05/12 22:18, Arto Wikla wrote: Dear lutenists, I happened to find a simple but also quite beautiful little piece to baroque lute. It is in one of the Kremsmunster mss., A-KR L83b, fol. 25r, piece number 248.There is no name of the piece, neither of the composer, but somehow this piece sounds so familiar! The piece is so song-like that I think it must be an instrumental arrangement of a song, perhaps taken from some popular opera around 1700 in Vienna? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PsXj0ZbT98&feature=youtu.be So, if somebody happens to know this piece, please let me know! All the best, Arto PS The d-minor tuning is really a clever idea! I could not have imagined that before getting into it... :-) To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
[BAROQUE-LUTE] Re: What is this nice little piece?
How interesting, I have just played the same piece, from Lundgren's companion! I have no idea who the composer is but I have interpreted it as a menuet. And it does sound familiar. mvh Are > Dear lutenists, > > I happened to find a simple but also quite beautiful little piece to > baroque lute. [BAROQUE-LUTE] Re: LUTE/THEORBO CASES for sale
Hello luters, Just passing this on for those who may be interested: LUTE/THEORBO CASES for sale: I have duplicate cases for various instruments of mine (some lighter, some stronger, for varying travel conditions) and, due to a combination conjugal pressure and the restraints of a small Paris flat, I have decided to put the lot on sale, sell the ones that go and keep the ones that don't. They are: - 1 ultra lightweight Japanese SOMA case for a huge theorbo (weighs less than a kilo). Made in 2010. Good condition. 600 Euros obo. - 2 ultra lightweight Japanese SOMA lute cases, one for a Renaissance lute, one for a rider 13c lute. Made in 2010. Perfect condition. 500 euros each, obo. - 1 "sunsafe" grey Kingham case, with the extra lightweight cloth that they don't offer anymore (it used to cost 40% extra; this is much lighter than the normal lightweight material they offer on their site). Made in 2006. Perfect condition. 800 euros obo. Please get in touch at [1]luthi...@gmail.com. Cases in Paris.
