Thanks for the full disclosure, Bonnie.

Compared to the price of an international money order or registered
international mail or virtually any currency exchance transaction,
this is not expensive. Compared to excluding someone from
contributing because there is too much hassle to go through to make a
contribution, it's a deal.

Sure I hate buying into the bank's games but, on the other hand, I
don't want to be pound foolish, either.

Anyone's return for a $10 contribution will be much greater than
transaction fees.

No?

Thanks -Allan

PS as far as your email address, well, there's little reason to
disguise it: it's already all over the headers of your email.

Allan, I'm never sure in this medium when you're teasing or serious.
Of course I'm brave enough, I just wanted to let folks know there is a
cost to credit card transactions. Perhaps you have a different
arrangement with them, Allan?

My preference for not going with credit card payments is that Paypal
deducts .029% + .30 per transaction. For example, if there is a $10
donation, they will deduct .59. I don't know about others, but to me
that's a good chunk. But then, I'm not just a penny pincher, I'm a penny
squeezer

I also purposely wrote my email address in the peculiar fashion I did so
as to avoid email address harvesters.

Donations can also be sent to me via regular mail as some have expressed
a preference for.

Thank you, Allan. I spent an hour trying to get through the PayPal software.
Bonnie denied my credit card payment and PayPal software automatically resent
it. I tried to cancel the resend and sent them an email asking how I could pay
through my bank. Am waiting for an answer, but none has come yet. I think I
will go on PayPal again and send my money to [EMAIL PROTECTED] If Bonnie will just
deny the last credit card resend, I think we will be there. I don't know what
PayPal software will do with my email asking to pay through my bank account
I assume Bonnie can send the money back, should it finally get there.

Hilary: For heaven's sake!! You are one person who I would really
hope can discern the differnce between discussing biodynamics offline
and discussing the mechanics of Paypal offline!!

Anyway, just go to the PayPal page at http://www.paypal.com and enter

credit card transaction, you are going to want to enter [EMAIL PROTECTED]
because I'm brave enough to accept credit card transactions.

Please ask any more questions and don't hesitate to do it offline.

Allan, I thought you didn't want us to do things 'offline'?! In any case, if
there's someone who understands Paypal and is willing to talk Bonnie
through, would they please include me on their instructions?

To contribute to testing

2002-04-04 Thread Bonnie York

Okay, I may have this.

Anyone who wants to contribute to the testing can go to PayPal.com

My ID is my email address. This account is only for the purpose of
collecting for the testing.
As soon as those who have contacted Allan or I have contributed I will
let you know what the total is and make arrangements for the testing.

Again, my ID is: froghaven(at sign) spiretech.com

Thanks,
Bonnie

Bonnie - If people have your paypal id they can simply go to the
paypal site and make the size donation they are comfortable with to
your account. PayPal also offers good support. I'm in the field all
day every day right now, or I'd offer to walk you through this
offline. Just saying this to encourage you: PayPal is a VERY EASY
SYSTEM TO USE.

Hopefully someone on BD Now! can walk you through this offline.

Good Luck!

Hello Allan and All,

Sorry, I haven't been at the computer in a day or so. Taking care of one
of my daughters who has had a tonsillectomy. Hectic and nervewracking.

Sorry to post this to the group in general, but I don't know what else
to do.

I still have been able to not figure out how others can send their
contributions to my account.

Allan, if you or anyone else knows how the Paypal works, let me know. I
do have an account, just confirmed on Saturday finally.

There is a form that I can send to request payments from people, but I
need to write in a dollar amount.
