Re: [beagleboard] Re: Here is the BeagleBone Debian (beta) image you want to test
Robert, thanks for your work. Is there a guide somewhere to build or a way to download a absolute minimal image. Something with only ssh, apt and full hardware initialization on it and nothing else. That would be a good base for couple of headless projects I am thinking about. When I am talking about HW initialization I am only thinking about network and hwrng Right now I am using this: http://rcn-ee.net/deb/flasher/wheezy/BBB-eMMC-flasher-debian-7.4-2014-02-16-2gb.img.xz and I will continue to use it as it is. But if you plan to stop developing those images I need to start thinking about another way to get a headless emmc debian image working. [beagleboard] Re: debian: test images (2014-01-29) (resend with correct topic..)
Which init script is enabled by default ? Do we have a choice of what init system to use ? Is this image also coming with a X server and desktop manager or it can be used as a minimal console only ? [beagleboard] discard option on rootfs
Hello, Is it safe to add discard as a mount option for the rootfs on the eMMC. I am sometimes writing big chunks of data on the rootfs and it is getting sluggish. Using debian and Linux arm 3.8.13-bone37 #1 SMP Thu Jan 23 00:56:41 UTC 2014 armv7l GNU/Linux rcn kernels. Alternatively doing fstrim -v / helps with trim. Gerald, I know that the Micron eMMC supports trim operations I was wondering if it is fully implemented. -- For more options, visit http://beagleboard.org/discuss --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BeagleBoard" group.
