Before everyone runs off on their own here, do figure out a way to coordinate efforts!
I know that Andrea Brin jumped on this right after the issue caem up, and it would be
beneficial to know what she has done before everyone starts talking with individual
companies.

We're a crowd that likes to help, and I think that's fantastic! But I hate to see all
sorts of wasted effort, and I hate to think that we'll wind up getting some of the
wheel manufacturers upset with us!

Andrea, this is your baby, how's it going? I think you were coordinating with BEHAF
too?

2003-02-11 Thread Patricia Tackett
Pat,

Your right we shouldn't be all running in circles. My
understanding (correct me if I'm wrong Andrea) Doggon'
Wheels had been contacted about a chair trying to get
a 'refurbished' one. I've heard from someone else
trying to find out what's happening at Doggon' Wheels
with Hugo that getting a chair to refurbish especially
for a Berner the size of Hugo is next to nil. I
believe Melissa Z. was contacting someone about making
one but not sure what status is on that ideal. I
personally have confidence in Doggon' Wheels and their
expertise on making a quality chair substantial enough
for Hugo and his needs. Donna has gone to San Diego
today for Hydrotherapy and won't be home til late and
most likely won't be on the PC until late tonight.
Hugo's account has $200 so far we need $400 and as I
understand it the chair will take up to 2 weeks to
make. I hope we don't waste another 2 weeks just
trying to help Donna out -- I know this community can
help her out with these finances how many subscribers
do we have now over 1200? I haven't checked lately.
I would hate to see more time pass, talk is cheap and
I feel Donna was left hanging last week hoping things
were coming along. We now have things in gear and
Doggon' has stepped up to the plate to help this dog
let's do our part as well. I know that once Hugo has
no need for his chair Donna will let others if they
need one have use of it.

This was not done to handicap Andrea or BEHAF in anyway, it was done to
expedite the chair for Hugie! I also thought it was 'on top of' and so
yesterday called doggone to see how the production was going only to find
there was no production and to just start the chair they needed 75% of the
total amount.
Yes, Melissa was getting plans for building one but Donna did not trust her
building abilities so yes, the fund is started at the company. At this
point if folks mail checks to one place then that place waits for them to
clear then has to mail the funds the two weeks for the chairs production
would have passed. Hugo needs this chair yesterday, it still must be built.
So instead of hashing whose baby it is and talking back and forth more and
wasting more time. Let's work together and get this chair in production .
Bet Ellen with her horse sense can tell ya what immobility does to a giant.
So yes, let's work together, time is already lost and Hugo is still down,
let's get him up and give him a chance, who cares 'who's baby' it isit
is Donna's baby Hugo that matters. I tain't no talker when time is a
wasting ..
Thanx to whoever donated this daythank you so muchwe are that much
closer to starting the chair !

i could not agree more. i am calling in my donation in a few minutes. checks
are not the way to go in this case unless we can just take some of the
donated money from stevie and earmark it for hugo and someone lay out the
money until the check is received. i would be willing to do that. sort of
like a loan.
i never wanted this to be my project. i just used all the resources i could
to help find someone to make or donate a chair. actually doggon were not the
only people who responded. everyone is so impressed by the love of this
community, they jumped right in. this is not about our egos it is about
hugo's health.
