Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Lms?
@mherger: Just saw the LMS nightlies for windows, two quick questions: 1. There is also a SBS 7.7-line (without any file yet) - does this mean there will be a SBS 7.7, too 2. Is the AUDIO (mp3) handling in SBS 7.6 EXACTLY the same as in LMS or are there any differences (wanna give LMS a try, for as far as I see, it's the future in the eye of Logitech...) Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Windows Firewall Inbound Rules
Do you keep the latest one ? Afaik some firewalls and antivirus programs would consider a new version of the same program a new program . So the firewall rule would only apply to the exact version that where installed or if you manually create rules, only to the exact version you created it for. However if SBS is autocreating rules it should also on install remove old rules regarding squeexeboxserver, squeezecenter and slimserver et al. So me thinks that the creating of new rules is ok but it is the removal of old rules that is missing ? -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Is it still planned to release SBS 7.6?
erland;640723 Wrote: Isn't it already there ? At least I'm playing Spotify on my 7.6 installation at the moment. I've both Logitech's Spotify plugin and the third party one made by Triode. You need to activate Logitech's one through the App Gallery menu on your Radio or Touch or install the third party one from SBS Settings/Plugins tab. The third party plugin is required for Classic, Boom or Transporter. Absolutely right. I had my mind on other things.. What I had seen was MickeyG's quote about Rhapsody. That was what I meant to ask about including in v.7.6. Rhapsody Support Soon For Users Running Beta or Squeezebox Servers on Touch Sorry, but this release does not include updated Rhapsody support for users of beta Squeezebox Server 7.6.0 and Squeezebox Server running on Squeezebox Touch (#8220;TinySC#8221;). Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Windows Firewall Inbound Rules
For every new nightly I install there is a new entry in the firewall inbound rule. I think that you are right about removal of the old rule(s). -- PSSO Ole PSSO's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11678 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82016 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Windows Firewall Inbound Rules
Boy, that got a lot of attention. Squeezebox Server's Windows installer is one of the worst, slowest, and _dumbest_ Windows installer that I've ever used. I've installed enterprise accounting packages in less time than it takes for the SBS installer to do an update. It's too dumb to check that things already exist and update them only when necessary. Instead, it uninstalls and then reinstalls things like Start menu items. It's probably doing the same thing with the firewall rules, and either not checking or else unable to gauge the success of interim operations. -- JJZolx JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82016 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
