Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] 7.9 Problems/Bugs
I suspect that some of my tagging is causing some compilation albums to appear multiple times, in some cases an album for each track. In Album Artists, All Artists or are you using the single configurable artists list (Settings/My Music)? What is the selection criteria for a compilation ? (I thought it would be files in a folder that all have the same data in the Album tag and but different data in the Artist tag, and/or Compilation set to 1) This comes pretty close. I'm sure there are some other corner cases, but that's basically it. But there's not only ARTIST as a tag, there's the ALBUMARTIST as well as COMPOSER, CONDUCTOR and BAND tags. You could eg. have an ALBUMARTIST of Various Artists, but a different ARTIST for every track. Those tracks would create separate items in the All Artists menu. I suppose that I am asking what tags should be populated for an album with multiple artists to appear as a single entry in the new Compilations browse function? compilation=1 should do it. -- Michael ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta

I don't understand that. Is it not an Alison Krauss collection? The way I (and I think most people) would tag it is: ALBUMARTIST: Alison Krauss ARTIST: can be different for each track COMPILATION:(delete this tag from all tracks) This way, when you browse albums sorted by artist name, it will appear sorted under Alison Krauss and appear with her other albums, and the artist name shown for the album will be 'Alison Krauss' instead of 'Various Artists'. Br CAAD This is without DoP set on the server? If so the server is supposed to resample to the highest rate supported by the player. In the case of EDO this would be 192k or 176k. Can the LMS machine handle the resampling ok - is there enough cpu power and is the network capable of handling it. I don't currently see why the touch needs resetting if it is not doing anything other than playing flac files (which is all it should be doing). I wonder if the flac version causes a problem. OK is this the expected behaviour of the LMS scanner ? I would really love to see your db to understand what's going on here... Did I ask before? That : FILE:///MEDIA/MUSIC1/ And other paths like: /MEDIA/MUSIC1/ Leading to the same files should make LMS thinks these are files from different albums ? They should result in the same values in the DB. As i said my problems are gone when i edited the playlist files ,but it still does not explain whats changed in LMS to suddenly expose this ? What I did change is the way how tracks etc. are counted. In the past we used several different ways to access the raw data. As the introduction of library_id etc. caused changes in all these places, I tried to consolidate how things are done, sharing more code across the application. The resulting query might indeed be different (but should return the same results, of course). -- Michael ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta

Do you happen to know how many of these items there are? This might actually explain the difference: the old counting code filtered for audio=1, the new query does check for content types. The list you're seeing is a list of items which would be counted in the new code, but not in the old. It'll be interesting to see what kind of items these are. Why do you call them broken? What's special about them? ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
