What Intelligence actually means
*What Intelligence actually means:* There are 6 dimensions of Intelligence namely Cognitive Intelligence 2. Emotional Intelligence 3. Social Intelligence 4. Environmental Intelligence 5. Moral Intelligence 6. Spiritual Intelligence 1. Cognitive Intelligence- general aptitude, memory power, calculations abilities and all these sort of things 2. Emotional Intelligence- power to persuade and influence others by our thoughts plus it decides our emotional behavior and attachment toward others 3. Social Intelligence-decides our behavior towards society and what we do to raise our society 4. Environmental Intelligence- decides our behavior towards Mother Nature and all its creations, living and non-living. 5. Moral Intelligence- developing your own principles and ethical values of life 6. Spiritual Intelligence- gaining knowledge and power from cosmos through meditation, believing that solution of everything lies in cosmos and inside us. -Person possessing a fair amount of these 6 dimensions can be called Intelligent and not the one whose IQ results show higher marks. -You can rate yourself on the scale of 1-10 honestly, and develop the one which you lack. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. 10 Self Improvement Activities
10 Self Improvement Activities These self improvement activities will help you become more productive, get into the positive state of mind and achieve better quality of life. In this article you will also find out how to use your energy effectively, what is the quickest way to achieve personal growth and how to excel in every activity. 1st Self Improvement Activity: Use your energy on important things If you want to succeed in life, you should not waste your energy on activities that do not bring any benefits. Such useless activities include surfing the Internet without any purpose, watching TV, worrying and wasting money. When you are involved in such activities, you have no or little energy left for activities that can create a better future. It is worth prioritising and accomplishing important tasks first, and then if you still have enough energy, you may decide to do the unimportant. 2nd Self Improvement Activity: Focus on one task at a time If you want to get perfect results, you should only concentrate on one activity. This way all your energy will go into it and you will accomplish it perfectly. If you waste your energy on several things at the same time, you will get average results because you will divide your energy between the activities. 3rd Self Improvement Activity: Control your thinking To avoid chaos in your mind resulting in chaos in the outside world, you should try to observe your thoughts. Once you start doing that, you will notice how many negative thoughts you get daily. By observing negative thinking you will be able to emotionally disengage from it. As a result, negative thinking will affect you less and you will notice that your days are getting more peaceful and positive. 4th Self Improvement Activity: Get organised When you live in an organised manner, you do not suffer from stress and your life is peaceful and balanced. To start living this way, you should start planning your day in advance. This will eliminate any stress caused by being late to a meeting or forgetting to complete some task. You should also live in tidiness because by keeping your home clean you also keep your mental state clear and peaceful. Such mental state will benefit you in many ways, including improved memory and less negativity. 5th Self Improvement Activity: Live in the present Although this self improvement activity may seem strange to you, it is a very important activity that many ignore. The majority of people do not live in the present. They either dwell on their past or daydream about the future. They seem to forget the most important time of all - the present. You should enjoy every present moment because your current state of mind always manifests in the outside world, creating your future accordingly. Therefore if your main mood is very positive, you will experience only happy days. However, if you dwell on negative thoughts, you are sure to encounter many obstacles and misfortunes in the present and days to come. 6th Self Improvement Activity: Complete each task in a perfect manner Whenever you are working on some project, try to accomplish it in the best way possible. Always ask yourself 'Is this project turned out as perfect as it could possibly be?' If the answer is no, try to correct or add something to it until there is nothing that you can improve. This way you will make sure that each single task you accomplish is done in an excellent manner. By doing this you will create successful future because you cannot possibly fail if you only get perfect results. Also, when you entirely focus on one task excluding everything else, you will notice that you start enjoying the task. If you concentrate on the task but still do not enjoy it, that means that you probably see the task as a means to an end rather than the process. You should start focusing on the process itself to find enjoyment in the task. Such enjoyment will fuel motivation and you will accomplish everything quicker and better. If you enjoy your work, you will put only positive energy into it. As a result, your completed tasks will bring you success. 7th Self Improvement Activity: Challenge yourself Nothing develops you more than challenges. Challenges force you to shift your comfort zone, experience new situations and make you grow. Without challenges life would be very boring and depressing. Challenges are necessary for every human being who is seeking quality life. Only through trial and error you realise who you really are, which activities you like and what preferences you have. You can easily measure the success of a person by the amount of challenges s/he had. 8th Self Improvement Activity: Read personal development books There is nothing more important than searching information about self improvement. Without reading any self improvement books or articles you cannot improve yourself. 9th Self Improvement Activity: Socialize only with positive people Positive people can inspire, empower and

Effect Of Food On The Mind
*1. Effect Of Food On The Mind* In harmony with our great spiritual, religious and wisdom traditions, there is a great importance on food. Whilst modern science tends to take a technician.s approach and sees the molecules, chemical compounds and nutrients that feed the body; we look at a more spiritual, holistic perspective which places a sacred significance on what we eat, seeing how the food.s energy can touch, heal and nourish the soul as well. The body needs sustenance but so does the soul: we must absorb, assimilate and integrate spiritual energy as well as physical energy from our food. Practitioners of the Raja Yoga meditation, are typically lacto-vegetarians (diet is a vegetarian diet which includes dairy products). They believe that non-violence is an essential characteristic of the spiritually awakened individual and that the essence of the human soul is peace, tranquility and love. If the internal workings of the soul are disturbed, by eating the wrong type of food then the individual is not able to enjoy meditative serenity (peacefulness). The meditator sees that whatever food is eaten has an effect on the mind, in a subtle form, in a similar way in which alcohol or intoxicating drugs can dramatically change our mood and power of judgment. 2. *To have attention to accumulate is to experience constant progress * *Expression: *The one who has the attention to accumulate each and every moment makes sure that he uses well his treasures like thoughts, time etc. Then, there would never be anything waste or even ordinary. Instead each treasure would be used for the benefit of all. *Experience: *Having attention to accumulate makes me realise the importance of whatever I have. This makes me pay attention on even little things and I find myself benefitting from each moment and with each thing that happens. Thus I experience constant progress. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. To be free is to be free even from the bondage of things
To be free is to be free even from the bondage of things. Expression: The one who is dependent on the presence of a particular thing to succeed in a task is also under the bondage of that thing. Such a person will not be able to put in effort to his full capability since he is always thinking of what is lacking. On the other hand the one who tries to find a way to do the task at hand even when there is nothing available is the one who finds new resources. He is then able to use these resources too for accomplishing the task. Experience: When I am thinking more about what is to be done rather than thinking about what is lacking, I am able to be content with what I have. I am able to appreciate every small thing that is present in my life that I could use for my own benefit and that of others. I am able to work for what I want to achieve without being caught up only with the desires. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. the Pillars of Self-Mastery-7
41. When you stand and meet someone, stand firm and steadfast. A telling sign of an unfocused, weak mind is constant fidgeting, shifting of the eyes and shallow breathing. 42. Act tough and you will be tough. Have courage and inspire others with your actions. But always be considerate. 43. Ask not what this world can do for you but, rather, what you can do for this world. Make service an important goal in your life. It is a most fulfilling investment of time. Remember, in the twilight of your life, when all is said and done, the quality of your life boils down to the quality of your contribution to others. Leave a rich legacy for those around you to savour. 44. Once a week, arise at dawn. It is a magical time of day. Be still, go for a walk or simply listen to an old Ella Fitzgerald recording. Take a long, hot shower and do 100 pushups. Read one of the classics. You will feel alive and invigorated. 45. Remain slightly aloof. Do not let everyone know everything about you. Cultivate a mystique. 46. Master the art of public speaking. There are few natural speakers. One great trial lawyer stammered dreadfully but through courage and strength of conviction, he developed into a brilliant orator. Role model anyone you think is a highly effective, influential communicator. Visualize a picture of this person. Stand like him, smile like him, and talk like him. The results will startle you. 47. Seek out motivational speakers committed to character training and lifelong success. Make it a point to attend inspirational lectures each month to consistently renew the importance of personal growth in your mind. In a two hour seminar, you can learn powerful techniques and strategies that others have spent many years learning and refining. Never feel that you have no time for gathering new ideas, you are investing in yourself. 48. Read the wonderful book Discovering Happiness by Dennis Wholey. It will certainly open up new horizons for you in your quest for an optimal state of health and happiness. 49. To enhance your concentration, read a passage in a book you have never explored. Then try to recite it verbatim. Practice this for only 5 minutes a day and enjoy the results which follow after a few months of effort. 50. Try entering a 5 km running race and then a 10 km event. The adrenaline that flows from the experience of racing with several hundred other fitness-minded people is exhilarating. By constantly pushing the envelope of your capacity, your potential will quickly unfold. Remember, the body will give you only what you ask of it. http://icwastudymaterialandjobs.blogspot.com/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. the Pillars of Self-Mastery -- 6
33. Become a committed audio-tape user. Most personal-mastery programs and books are now offered in this format. Listen to these inspirational materials on your way to work, whilst waiting in the line at a bank or while you wash dishes in the evening. Make your car a college on wheels and use the drive time to make knowledge your best friend. All down time can be very effectively used in this productive fashion. Use such opportunities to learn and continually expand your mind and its vast potential. 34. Try fasting one day every two weeks. During these fast days, drink fruit juice and eat fresh fruits only. You will feel more energetic, cleansed and alert. Fasting also has a salutary effect on your will-power as you are subverting the otherwise pressing impulses in your mind calling on you to eat more. 35. Keep a radio-cassette player at your office and listen to soft, soothing music throughout the day. Place pleasant scents and inspirational pictures in your workplace. By the magic of association, your work will become something you enjoy even more and arouse a very pleasant feeling within you. Budget your time on trips such that you can spend half an hour in the airport bookstore. They always contain the latest and best self-mastery books and tapes given that those who travel by air are of a group that finds value in these materials. 36. Read As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. And don't just read this little book once, read it over and over again. It contains an abundance of timeless wisdom on living a fuller and happier life. 37. Remember that forgiveness is a virtue that few develop, but one that is most important to maintaining peace of mind. Mark Twain wrote that forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. Practice forgiveness especially in those situations where it is seemingly difficult. By using your emotional forgiveness muscles more regularly, petty wrongs, remarks and slights will not touch you and nothing will penetrate your concentrated, serene mindset. 38. Empty your cup. A full cup cannot accept anything more. Similarly, a person who believes that he cannot learn anything else will stagnate quickly and not move to higher levels. A true sign of a secure, mature individual is someone who sees every opportunity as a chance to learn. Even the teachers have teachers. 39. The Two Minute Mind is an excellent exercise for developing concentration. Simply stare at the second hand on your wristwatch for two minutes and think about nothing else for that time. At first your mind will wander but after 21 days of practice, your attention will not waver during the routine. One of the greatest qualities a person can develop to ensure his success is the ability to focus for extended periods of time. Learn to build up your concentration muscles and no task will be too difficult for you. 40. Drink a cup of warm water before a speech. Ronald Reagan employed this strategy to ensure that he maintained his honey-smooth voice. Mastery of the art of public speaking is a noble goal. So dedicate yourself to it. You will be judged by the calibre of your communication skills. http://icwastudymaterialandjobs.blogspot.com/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. the Pillars of Self-Mastery -- 5
24. Be soft as a flower when it comes to kindness but tough as thunder when it comes to principle. Be courteous and polite at all times but never be pushed around. Ensure that you are always treated with respect. 25. Never discuss your health, wealth and other personal matters with anyone outside of your immediate family. Be very disciplined in this regard. 26. Be truthful, patient, persevering, modest and generous. 27. Soak in a warm bath at the end of a long, productive day. Reward yourself for even the smallest of achievement. Take time out for renewal of your mind, body and spirit. Soon all your more important goals will be met and you will move to the next level of peak performance. 28. Learn the power of breathing and its relationship with your energy source. The mind is intimately connected with your breathing. For example, when the mind is agitated, your breathing becomes quick and shallow. When you are relaxed and focused, your breathing is deep and calm. By practising deep, abdominal breathing, you will develop a calm, serene demeanour that will remain cool in the hottest of circumstances. Remember the rule of the Eastern mountain men: to breathe properly is to live properly. 29. Recognize and cultivate the power of autosuggestion. It works and is an essential tool in maintaining peak performance. We are all performers in one way or another and it is particularly valuable to use such techniques of athletes and public figures for our own enhancement. If you want to become more enthusiastic, repeat I am more enthusiastic today and am improving this trait daily. Repeat it over and over. Purchase a legal notepad and write out this mantra 500 times. Do it for three weeks with regular practice and feel that this quality is developing. Very soon it will come. This is a strategy that Indian sages have employed for thousands of years to aid their spiritual and mental development. Do not be discouraged if the results are not immediate, they will certainly develop. The spoken word is a powerful influencer of the mind. 30. Maintain a diary to measure your progress and to express your thoughts. Writing out not only your successes but your troubles is one of the world's most effective methods of erasing the worry habit, staying in optimum state and developing precision of thought. 31. Stress is simply a response which you create in the interpretation of an event. Two people might find that a given event results in quite different responses. For example, an after dinner speech might strike fear into the heart of an inexperienced speaker while a strong orator views it as a wonderful opportunity to share his thoughts. Understanding that the perceived negative effects of an event or task may be mentally manipulated and conditioned towards the positive, will allow you to be a peak performer in all instances. 32. Read The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. It contains a wealth of wisdom and powerful insights into further developing your character and enhancing your personal relationships. Pillars of Self-Mastery-1
1. Sleep less. This is one of the best investments you can make to make your life more productive and rewarding. Most people do not need more than 6 hours to maintain an excellent state of health. Try getting up one hour earlier for 21 days and it will develop into a powerful habit. Remember, it is the quality not the quantity of sleep that is important. And just imagine having an extra 30 hours a month to spend on the things that are important to you. 2. Set aside one hour every morning for personal development matters. Meditate, visualize your day, read inspirational texts to set the tone of your day, listen to motivational tapes or read great literature. Take this quiet period to vitalize and energize your spirit for the productive day ahead. Watch the sun rise once a week or be with nature. Starting the day off well is a powerful strategy for self-renewal and personal effectiveness. 3. Do not allow those things that matter the most in your life be at the mercy of activities that matter the least. Every day, take the time to ask yourself the question is this the best use of my time and energy? Time management is life management so guard your time with great care. 4. Use the rubber band method to condition your mind to focus solely on the most positive elements in your life. Place a rubber band around your wrist. Each time a negative, energy sapping thought enters your mind, snap the rubber band. Through the power of conditioning, your mind will associate pain with negative thinking and you will soon possess a strongly positive mindset. 5. Always answer the phone with enthusiasm in your voice and show your appreciation for the caller. Good phone manners are essential. To convey authority on the line, stand up. This will instill further confidence in your voice. 6. Throughout the day we all get inspiration and excellent ideas. Keep a set of cards (the size of business cards; available at most stationary stores) in your wallet along with a pencil to jot down these insights. When you get home, put the ideas in a central place such as a coil notepad and review them from time to time. As noted by Oliver Wendell Holmes: Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions. 7. Set aside every Sunday evening for yourself and be strongly disciplined with this habit. Use this period to plan your week, visualize your encounters and what you want to achieve, to read new materials and inspirational books, to listen to soft soothing music and to simply relax. This habit will serve as your anchor to keep you focused, motivated and effective throughout the coming week. 8. Always remember the key principle that the quality of your life is the quality of your communication. This means the way you communicate with others and, more importantly, the way you communicate with yourself. What you focus on is what you get. If you look for the positive this is what you get. This is a fundamental law of Nature. HAVE A NICE DAY ! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. Best-Ever Success Quotes
Best-Ever Success Quotes “If you have a good name, if you are more often right than you are wrong, if your children respect you, if your grandchildren are glad to see you, if your friends can count on you and you can count on them in time of trouble, if you can face God and say “I have done my best,” then you are a success.” Ann Landers “I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure – which is, try to please everybody.” Herbert Swope “Success is the result of good judgment, good judgment is a result of experience, experience is often the result of bad judgment.” Anthony Robbins “Be ready when opportunity comes... The 3 Strategies How to Deal with Failure
The 3 Strategies How to Deal with Failure So you want to be successful in your life? Do you know that you will need to face a lot of failures before you can actually achieve what you want in your life? To be successful is not an easy task. In fact, the more successful you are today, the more failure you will have come across with. This is because in your journey to success, you MUST come across failure. It is the failure that brings you to success. It is not likely that you are going to achieve what you want in the first attempt, maybe not in the first few times too. If you think about Thomas Edison, you will know what it takes to be successful. Thomas Edison, failed more than 10,000 times just to find out the right material for light emission. What about you? How many times can you afford to fail? Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), get rejected for selling his recipe more than 1,000 times before he finally gets a ‘yes’. So you see, success is about dealing with failures. Without failure in your journey, you will not learn and improve, and you will not find the right way to success. However, the question now is how are you going to deal with failure? I know that you need to turn failure into success, but how can you do that? Basically, there are 3 ways you can deal with failure: 1. Give Up and Forget Your Dreams 2. Try Harder, Take More Action 3. Treat Failure As Feedback, and Change The Strategies 1. Give Up and Forget Your Dreams Yes, this is the easiest route and which most people will choose when they come across any failure. I hope that you are not in this category. You must accept the truth that you need to fail, at least a few times before you finally achieve what you want. (Many people give excuses even before they start! Read this post, Top 10 Excuses People Often Give, to make sure that you are not making any of them) The moment you did not achieve the result you want, don’t give up. Once you give up, you are going to waste all of your energy that you have previously put in. For example, if you are trying to build an online business, you spend thousands into building a perfect website, and thought that a website is something that can make you money. Then you are wrong. Without visitors visiting website, nobody will know that your website exist. Hence, you got no sales. So if you give up here, then you will lose all the money that you have spent into building that website. Furthermore, you are going to waste up your time that you spent in it too! Therefore you see, the moment you give up, you are going to waste a lot of your money and energy. The truth is that you are already half way to success, you ALREADY HAVE your website running, all you need now is visitors! But you give up, and lose everything. What a sad decision to make if you give up here. Thus, no matter in what business, no matter what goals you are pursuing right now, DON’T GIVE UP. Tell yourself that you are not going to give up no matter what. 2. Try Harder, Take More Action Great, now you have decided not to give up. What most people will do is that if they are not giving up, they will try harder, again, with the very same strategy. So, is this group of people going to achieve what they want in their life? Hardly, because they are trying harder WITH THE SAME STRATEGY! They will tell themselves, “Well, it is because I’m not hard working enough”, “It is because I did not take enough action”. So what they do is that they try again, try harder, put more time into taking action. However, they did not realize that they are using the same approach! How can you achieve something when you know that by using the same old strategy, you are going to get back the same old results? Ridiculous! But this is what most people will do. They never thought of that it is because of the strategies that they are using, they thought that it is because they are not hard working enough. Think about it, you know that 1 + 1 = 2, but 2 is not the result you want, you want the result to be 3. So how can you achieve this? CHANGE YOUR STRATEGY, make it 1 + 2 or 2 + 1. Unless you change your strategy, you will never get the results you want. This is a common sense right? You are trying to make 1 + 1 = 3! This is not possible. So be clear with this. Ask yourself whether you are doing it right. If you are using the RIGHT STRATEGIES, you can make it BIG. Even with a small fruit stall business, with the right strategies, you can make millions! Yes, you can be a millionaire by selling fruits! Don’t believe? Read this, Are You Using The Right Strategies? to find out. 3. Treat Failure As Feedback, and Change The Strategies I bet you know the right way of dealing with failure right now. The first step to deal with failure, is to treat it as feedback. Don’t treat failure as something bad. Instead, treat it as a feedback, which tells you where you have gone wrong and why you did not get
Realizing Your Purpose Success Quotes
*Message for the day 17-09-2011* The one who has a clear aim, is able to win the cooperation from others too. *Realizing Your Purpose** * You are a source of the most powerful energy on the planet because you have a mind and an intellect, which has the capacity to create thoughts, ideas and actions. If however, there is no purpose (aim and objective) to your creativity, no focus or direction, your energy and your power will leak out in a variety of directions. You will be left with a drained feeling and the subtle guilt that you wasted precious time and energy. Just as a light bulb focuses and radiates the energy of electricity, so a clear purpose focuses and radiates the power of the self. Take time out to consider your purpose in life and then how you can translate that purpose into your day, everyday. You will see your purpose in your mind’s eye. One day it will occur to you, perhaps unexpectedly, perhaps in one single thought, or a clear single image of stunning clarity (accuracy), but you will know it with a certainty that needs no questioning. 9 Helpful Tips To Deal With Negative People
9 Helpful Tips To Deal With Negative People Do you have any friends or colleagues who are negative? If so, you’ll know they aren’t the most enjoyable people to be around. Negative people can be real downers in any conversation. No matter what you say, they have a way of spinning things in a negative direction. Some negative people can be so negative that it feels draining just being around them. I’ve dealt with a fair share of negative people in my life in network blogs basically surrounded by unknown people whose feedback is not relevant to me, and who do not professionalism in their feedbacks. I was initially taken aback by negativity of the people, I eventually learned to manage it and channel it into conscious action. Today, I deal with negativity on-and-off in my personal development work, especially if there are readers or coaching clients in distress. Rather than be affected by others’ negative energy, I’m now able to consciously deal with it. Here, I’ll share with you 9 tips to deal with negative people in your life (specially in your blogs and work place) *1) Don’t get into an argument* *2) Empathize with them* *3) Lend a helping hand* *4) Stick to light topics* *5) Ignore the negative comments* *6) Praise the person for the positive things* *7) Hang out in 3′s or more people* *8) Be responsible for your reaction* *9) Reduce contact with them / Avoid them* *1) Don’t get into an argument* One of the most important things I learned is not to debate with a negative person. A negative person likely has very staunch views and isn’t going to change that just because of what you said. Whatever you say, he/she can find 10 different reasons to back up his/her viewpoint. The discussion will just swirl into more negativity, and you pull yourself down in the process. You can give constructive comments, and if the person rebutts with no signs of backing down, don’t engage further. * * *2) Empathize with them* Have you ever been annoyed by something before, then have someone tell you to “relax”? How did you feel? Did you relax as the person suggested or did you feel even more worked up? From my experience, people who are negative (or upset for that matter) benefit more from an empathetic ear than suggestions/solutions on what he/she should do. By helping them to address their emotions, the solutions will automatically come to them (it’s always been inside them anyway). * * *3) Lend a helping hand* Some people complain as a way of crying for help. They may not be conscious of it though, so their comments come across as complaints rather than requests. Take the onus to lend a helping hand. Just a simple “Are you okay?” or “Is there anything I can do to help you?” can do wonders. * * *4) Stick to light topics* Some negative people are triggered by certain topics. Take for example: One of my friends sinks into a self-victimizing mode whenever we talk about his work. No matter what I say (or don’t say), he’ll keep complaining once we talk about work. Our 1st instinct with negative people should be to help bring them to a more positive place (i.e. steps #2 and #3). But if it’s apparent the person is stuck in his/her negativity, the unhappiness may be too deeply rooted to address in a one-off conversation, or for you to help him/her unravel it. Bring in a new topic to lighten the mood. Simple things like new movies, daily occurrences, common friends, make for light conversation. Keep it to areas the person feels positive towards. * * *5) Ignore the negative comments* One way to help the negative person “get it” is to ignore the negative comments. If he/she goes into a negative swirl, ignore or give a simple “I see” or “Ok” reply. On the other hand, when he/she is being positive, reply in affirmation and enthusiasm. Do this often and soon he/she will know positivity pays off. He/she will adjust to be more positive accordingly. * * *6) Praise the person for the positive things* Negative people aren’t just negative to others. They’re also negative to themselves. If you already feel negative around them, imagine how they must feel all the time. What are the things the person is good at? What do you like about the person? Recognize the positive things and praise him/her for it. He/she will be surprised at first and might reject the compliment, but on the inside he/she will feel positive about it. That’s the first seed of positivity you’re planting in him/her and it’ll bloom in the long-term. * * *7) Hang out in 3′s or more people* Having someone else in the conversation works wonders in easing the load. In a 1-1 communication, all the negativity will be directed towards you. With someone else in the conversation, you don’t have to bear the full brunt of the negativity. This way you can focus more on doing steps #1 (Empathizing) and #2 (Helping the person). * * *8) Be responsible for your reaction* Whether the person is negative or not, ultimately you’re the one who is
Success Tips and Meditation
76. When choosing your life partner, remember that this is the most important decision of your lifetime. The marriage relationship offers 90% of all your support, happiness and fulfillment so choose it wisely. Consider qualities such as affection, sense of humor, intelligence, integrity, maturity, temperament, compatibility and that indescribable characteristic of chemistry. If these are present, your relationship stands an excellent chance of great success. Move slowly and let no one press you into an uncomfortable decision. 77. Never discuss your personal development activities with anyone. Your strategies for expanding your mind and spirit are your own. Others might not understand the value of personal-mastery and, further, will take away your credit when you meet with success by saying that you relied on techniques. Keep these self-development activities to yourself. 78. Schedule relaxation time into your week and be ruthless in protecting it. You would not schedule another activity into the time planned for an important meeting with the president of your company or your best client so why would you put off a period to invest in yourself? We must have time for ourselves to reflect, unwind and recharge our batteries. These are the renewal activities that allow us to maintain peak performance and are exceptionally valuable periods. 79. 83% of our sensory input comes from our eyes. To truly concentrate on something, shut your eyes and you will remove much distraction. 80. Be the master of your will but the servant of your conscience. Meditation Qualities, Virtues And Powers Innate or basic characteristics are properties that are unchangeable. It's impossible to take the heat out of the sun or sweetness out of sugar. Heat and sweetness are part of the unchanging make-up of the sun and sugar respectively; they are the basic properties of each of them. In the same way, in spite of whatever I have become as a human individual, my deep basic characteristics are still the same ones that have always existed in me. It's my inner core of qualities that in fact inspires me to seek the ideal in whatever I do. The impulse to seek and to dream comes from my own store of innate attributes that is just waiting to be found and brought into practical activity. The innate qualities of the soul are those that are the most basic: Peace, Truth, Happiness, Love, Purity, Power and Bliss. They are so basic that they themselves are the foundation of all virtues and powers. They are like primary colors and virtues and powers are secondary colors. Just as orange (a secondary color) is made of red and yellow (both primary colors) and blue is made of yellow and green, virtues such as patience, tolerance, courage, generosity etc. and powers, are obtained by mixing the basic qualities e.g. Patience - peace, love and, power Humility . love, peace and truth Courage - power and truth The aim of meditation is to emerge and enhance my qualities so that my behavior becomes full of virtues and powers. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. Success Tips
61. Become an adventurer. Revitalize your spirit and sense of playfulness. Become a kid again. Once every few months, plan to enjoy a new, thrilling activity such as white water rafting, scuba diving, windsurfing, rockclimbing, joining a martial arts club, sailing, deep sea fishing or camping. This will keep your life in perspective, bring you closer to those you share the activity with and keep you feeling invigorated and young. 62. Spend time with Nature. Natural settings have a powerful effect on your senses which in turn will lead to a sense of renewal, refreshment and peacefulness. Peak performers through the ages have understood the importance of getting back to Nature. Start camping or simply taking quiet walks in the forest. Rest by a sparkling stream. Cultivate your own little garden which will serve as your personal oasis in the middle of a crowded city. By cultivating a friendship with Nature, you will quickly find more serenity, contentment and richness in your life. 63. Recall the wise saying mens sana in corpore sano which means in a sound body rests a sound mind. Never neglect the body which is intimately connected to the mind. This is your temple. Feed it the finest fuels, exercise daily and care for it as you would your prized possession - because it is. 64. Be so strong that nothing interferes with your peace of mind. A well-known boxer was once unhappy. When asked why, he said that he had allowed himself to think a negative thought. Curb your desires and stay centered and focused - it gets easier with practice. You truly cannot afford the luxury of even one negative thought. 65. Do not eat three hours before sleep. This allows for smoother digestion and a more restful sleep. For deeper, more renewing sleep, remember that a daily dose of exercise promotes good sleep as does a period of relaxation an hour before bed. Also do not bring work to bed with you or think about anything which might agitate you. Ease yourself into sleep like a baby being sung a soft, soothing lullaby. And finally, as Leonardo da Vinci said: a well-spent day brings happy sleep. 66. Be careful about your reputation. If it is good it will take you to the highest of heights. But once tarnished, it will be difficult to retrieve. Always reflect on your course of action. Never do anything you wouldn't be proud to tell your mother about. Have fun always but temper it with common sense and prudence. 67. Find mentors to model who will guide you in your progress. The mistakes of the world have all been made once before - why shouldn't you have the benefit of the experience of others? Find someone who has both courage and consideration for others, someone who is therefore mature. Your mentor must have only your best interests in mind and should be sufficiently senior to offer you good guidance on the subjects you seek assistance with. Everyone needs to feel appreciated and even the busiest of executives will find time to assist a person who respects them and values their advice. 68. Make a list of all your weaknesses. A truly confident and enlightened person will note a weakness and seek to methodically improve. Bear in mind that even the greatest and most powerful people have weaknesses. Some are better than others in hiding them. On the other hand, get to know your best qualities and cultivate them. 69. Never complain. Be known as a positive, strong, energetic and enthusiastic person. Someone who complains, is cynical and always looks for the negative in everything, will scare people away and rarely will succeed at anything. From a purely psychological viewpoint, things are always created twice: once in the mind and then in reality. Focus on the positive. Be so mentally tough that nothing takes you off your planned course to success. Visualize and firmly believe in what you want. It will most certainly come true. 70. Overlook the weaknesses of your friends. If you look for flaws you will most surely find them. Be mature enough to ignore the petty failings of others and see the good that each one inherently possesses. We can learn from everyone. Everyone has a story to tell, a joke to share and a lesson to learn. Open your mind to this and you will learn a tremendous amount. Friends are so very important to a happy existence - especially those who have shared many experiences and laughs with you. Work hard to make friendships, and all your relationships for that matter, stronger and richer. Call your friends, buy them small gifts of books or other items you believe they might enjoy. The law of the farm applies to relationships as well as to the rest of life - you reap what you sow and to have great friends you must first be one. Society does not go down because of the activities of criminals But because of the inactivities of the good people * Join my G-Mail Group **“Jobs_Unlimited” Group**:*
Thought to Ponder
Thought to Ponder: Everyone wants to be successful. But to achieve and feel success all the time, one needs to be an embodiment of solutions. Problems continue to come, but if we go on cursing problems, we will not be able to achieve success. We will only end up spoiling our state of mind. Instead, if we try and find solutions, we will find something somewhere. We will be in the right frame of mind to create solutions. Point to Practice: Today I will only focus on solutions. I will pick out one problem which I have been avoiding or not being able to do anything about. I will then think of some solution, even if it is a small little step that I can take. I will first believe that there is a solution and then find something creative to do. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. Success Tips
You will be judged by the caliber of your communication skills. Success Tips
To be free from expectations means to experience inner joy.
*To be free from expectations means to experience inner joy.** * Projection: When we are free from expectations from others we are also free from dependency. So we are able to do everything well and to our satisfaction. We are not bound by the praise that we get from others but there is joy in doing the action itself. Then of course praise follows too. Solution: When I do something, I first have to ensure that I am enjoying it and keep reminding myself of the joy that I am deriving out of it. Then I am free from the desire for recognition or praise. Then I will find myself succeeding in the task that I undertake and I will be appreciated too. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group. Success Tips
11. Light a candle beside you when you are reading in the evening. It is most relaxing and creates a wonderful, soothing atmosphere. Make your home an oasis from the frenzied world outside. Fill it with great music, great books and great friends. 12. To enhance your concentration and powers of focus, count your steps when you walk. This is a particularly strong technique. Take six steps while taking a long inhale, hold your breath for another six steps, and then exhale for six steps. If six steps is too long for the breaths, do whatever you feel comfortable with. You will feel very alert, refreshed, internally quiet and centered after this exercise. So many people allow their minds to be filled with mental chatter. All peak performers appreciate the power of a quiet, clear mind which will concentrate steadily on all important tasks. 13. Learn to meditate effectively. The mind is naturally a very noisy machine which wants to move from one subject to another like an unchained monkey. One must learn to restrain and discipline it if one is to achieve anything of substance and to be peaceful. Meditation for twenty minutes in the morning and twenty minutes in the evening will certainly provide you with exceptional results if regularly practiced for six months. Learned sages of the East have been advancing the many benefits of meditation for over 5000 years. 14. Learn to be still. The average person doesn't spend even 30 minutes a month in total silence and tranquility. Develop the skill of sitting quietly, enjoying the powerful silence for at least ten minutes a day. Simply think about what is important to you in your life. Reflect on your mission. Silence indeed is golden. As the Zen master once said, it is the space between the bars that holds the cage. 15. Enhance your will-power; it is likely one of the best training programs you can invest in. Here are some ideas to strengthen your will and become a stronger person: a. Do not let your mind float like a piece of paper in the wind. Work hard to keep it focused at all times. When doing a task, think of nothing else. When walking to work, count the steps that it takes to get all the way to the office. This is not easy but your mind will soon understand that you hold its reins and not vice versa. Your mind must eventually become as still as a candle flame in a corner where there is no draft. b. Your will is like a muscle. You must first exercise it and then push before it gets stronger. This necessarily involves short term pain but be assured that the improvements will come and will touch your character in a most positive way. When you are hungry, wait another hour before your meal. When you are labouring over a difficult task and your mind is prompting you to pick up the latest magazine for a break or to get up and go talk to a friend, curb the impulse. Soon you will be able to sit for hours in a precisely concentrated state. Sir Issac Newton, one of the greatest classical physicists the world has produced, once said: if I have done the public any service, it is due to patient thought. Newton had a remarkable ability to sit quietly and think without interruption for very long periods of time. If he can develop this so can you. c. You can also build your will-power by restraint in your conduct with others. Speak less (use the 60/40 Rule = listen 60% of the time and speak a mere 40%, if that). This will not only make you more popular but you will learn much wisdom as everyone we meet, every day has something to teach us. Also restrain the urge to gossip or to condemn someone who you feel has made a mistake. Stop complaining and develop a cheerful, vital and strong personality. You will greatly influence others. d. When a negative thought comes to your mind, immediately replace it with one that is positive. Positive always dominates over the negative and your mind has to be conditioned to think only the best thoughts. Negative thinking is a conditioned process whereby the negative patterns are established over and over. Rid yourself of any limitations and become a powerful positive thinker. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BETTER PERSONALITY GROUP group.
