Re: [Bf-committers] Booleans: Carve solver has been removed
It seemed that all the more recent commits were just tweaking for clang compiles and before that some cleanups, not boolean feature dev I mean. This commit from 2013 was the latest functionality related commit I found, "Support for edge interpolation." https://github.com/folded/carve/commit/b7b71b146b3c8aedc5892fe8e85974552de1a7bf Anyhow I suppose what matters is how the code is vs what they with BMesh, am sure the devs know it's a good time now -- great to hear good news about booleans. -Toni On Fri, Feb 9, 2018 at 1:04 AM, GSRwrote: > Hi, > sergey@gmail.com (2018-02-08 at 1546.40 +0100): >> It is just more efficient to stick to a single solver, which is fully >> controlled by us, and much better maintained (last commit to Carve upstream >> was done years ago). > > Less than a year https://github.com/folded/carve/commits/master . > But the other points are probably more important. > > GSR > > ___ > Bf-committers mailing list > Bf-committers@blender.org > https://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-committers ___ Bf-committers mailing list Bf-committers@blender.org https://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-committers

Less than a year https://github.com/folded/carve/commits/master . But the other points are probably more important. Re: [Bf-committers] missing contact to webmaster on blender.org
Hi, Thanks for reporting! I've fixed the issue. And yes, there was no information other than the "Website Credits" but there were no actual ways to reach the people in the list (a quick Google search would do, but still). So now the /about/website page shows information on how to report a bug on the website via developer.blender.org https://www.blender.org/about/website/ Thanks again, Pablo Vazquez Blender Institute | Animation Studio pablovazquez.art On Thu, Feb 8, 2018 at 3:55 PM, Remigiusz Fiedlerwrote: > Hi, > > I wanted to report about broken link on https://www.blender.org/download/: > > https://www.blender.org/download/Blender2.79a/blender- > 2.79a-rc-windows32.zip > evaluating to: > https://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/blender/release/ > Blender2.79a/blender-2.79a-rc-windows32.zip > > instead of: > http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/blender/release/ > Blender2.79/blender-2.79a-rc-windows32.zip > > Though I didn't find a dedicated link to webmaster on blender.org. > It seems there is no such information across the whole website. > Would it be possible to fix this? > > Thanks, > Migius > ___ > Bf-committers mailing list > Bf-committers@blender.org > https://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-committers > ___ Bf-committers mailing list Bf-committers@blender.org https://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-committers
[Bf-committers] missing contact to webmaster on blender.org
Hi, I wanted to report about broken link on https://www.blender.org/download/: https://www.blender.org/download/Blender2.79a/blender-2.79a-rc-windows32.zip evaluating to: https://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/blender/release/Blender2.79a/blender-2.79a-rc-windows32.zip instead of: http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/blender/release/Blender2.79/blender-2.79a-rc-windows32.zip Though I didn't find a dedicated link to webmaster on blender.org. It seems there is no such information across the whole website. Would it be possible to fix this? Thanks, Migius ___ Bf-committers mailing list Bf-committers@blender.org https://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-committers
[Bf-committers] Booleans: Carve solver has been removed
Hi everyone, Just a quick update on Boolean modifier. For a long time we had two different solvers: Carve and BMesh. Now BMesh solver matured to the state when it's same or better than Carve. Surely, it has some corner cases when it fails, but so does Carve. It is just more efficient to stick to a single solver, which is fully controlled by us, and much better maintained (last commit to Carve upstream was done years ago). So here by i declare bye-bye Carve, thanks everyone who helped maintaining it in Blender. Now i'll be joining BMesh boolean department, helping resolving remaining bugs and corner cases. Also thanks everyone (especially Campbell) who made BMesh boolean solver! -- With best regards, Sergey Sharybin ___ Bf-committers mailing list Bf-committers@blender.org https://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-committers
