+1 This should be in the trunk. Like LoopTools are.

[Bf-committers] Scene Panel (UI Proposal)

2014-06-17 Thread Paul Geraskin
hi guys.

I have an idea to add Scene Panel. It will contain all scenes and rooms.
It will be very useful to see how many scenes a blend file has. The way
to implement them as Chrome/Firefox have tabs.

Explanation:

[Bf-committers] Simple3DCoat addon

2013-12-03 Thread Paul Geraskin
Hello guys!

You know me as the TextureAtlas addon developer. But now I want to
contribute another blender addon Simple3DCoat. This is the fork of the
official one, but i almost fully rewrote it and added more features like:
- Custom textures path
- Exchange through Obj/Fbx/Collada
- Clear the Exchange folder when a user collects much garbage (Exchanged
models/textures)
- Fixed many bugs

Here is wiki:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Import-Export/3dcoat_Simple3DCoat_applink
Here is forum thread: http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15481
Here is download:
https://code.google.com/p/blender-addons-by-mifth/downloads/detail?name=io_simple_3dcoat_0_3_2.zip&can=2&q=#makechanges

I hope you don't mind if I will add this script to blender official release?
The official script is not usable as it has many bugs and exceptions.

I also talked to 3DCoat developer Andrew Shpagin and he will add my
script to 3DCoat applinks links.

Thanks.

Re: [Bf-committers] Slash Brushes for blender sculpting proposal

2013-04-03 Thread Paul Geraskin
I can make it easily. But you forgot about other 1 3d artists who
even don't that that it's possible. This considers the development too.

I open Zbrush - i see about 5 different slash brushes.
I open Mudbox - i see 2 Slash brushes.
I open blender - i see no slash brushes.

I just want blender to become more professional and easy to use tool.

Just a question: How many good sculpts did you see made by blender?
I saw about 5 during 3 moths made in blender.
And i saw about 300 during 3 moths made in zbrush.

I want to see more good sculpts in blender. And only you(devs) can help
3d artists with it.

I don't want to hurt anyone. I just told my point.

I don't care how you implement it. I just want to have it by default. As
there was a talk about assets... Blender really has a lack of assets
implementation.

Re: [Bf-committers] Slash Brushes for blender sculpting proposal

2013-04-03 Thread Paul Geraskin
Blender has planar/trim brush. But 99% of 3d artists does not know about
it. It's called Scape/Peak brush. And it has a strange icon and a
strange name (imho). In Zbrush it's called Trim Brush.

Here i did the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VfUEcQrHNQ&feature=youtu.be

Blender does not have only Slash Brushes. I hope Nicholas Bishop
understand how vital Slash Brushes and add them soon.

Thank you Sean and Nicholas for replying. I hope you will find the way
to include the Slash brushes into the defaults in some way. As this is
very important for sculptors.

Thank you for answering. I would love to have them in the toolbox.I
talked to Ton by IRC. He said that Nikolas Bishop is responsible for
sculpting tools. I need to contact him at least.
But i did not find him at IRC yet.

ZBrush, Modo 701, Mudbox, 3dCoat have slash brushes by default. All best
sculpting apps have them. Is that good argument?

[Bf-committers] Slash Brushes for blender sculpting proposal

2013-03-30 Thread Paul Geraskin
Hello cool developers!

Firstly, i would like to say big big big THANK YOU for blender! I use it
every day on my job.

I would like to offer 2 sculpting Slash Brushes just like Zbrush has.
They are very important for sculpting artists. It would be very very
very cool if you add them into official blender release, so that people
can use them out of the box.

They use 2 blend textures with rake mode. You can set these textures
only for Slash Brushes for the brushes. Or set these textures in the code.

Here is my thread:
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?286998-Slash-Brushes-for-blenser-sculpting-proposal
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=WbsVLKGq2Ag
Download blend file with Slash Brushes:
https://code.google.com/p/blender-addons-by-mifth/downloads/detail?name=slash_brushes_01.blend&can=2&q=#makechanges

Thank you.
