That column was indeed invisible. I guess I must have minimised it ages ago and forgotten about it. For a while I didn't know what blue column you were referring to, since I couldn't see it, but then I saw a pic in the online help. For anyone else for whom this column is invisible, you can see it on the left in this screenshot: http://bibdesk.sourceforge.net/manual/gfx/tableView.png Raj - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Choose the Library group from the left table. [Bibdesk-users] Q: How to return to main bib after doing PubMed search?
Dear Bibdesk users, I recently upgraded from my old 1.2.x version of BibDesk, and was delighted to see that direct PubMed searching is now built-in to the new 1.3.x version. That's great! No more dragging in entries from RefMiner! However, after doing a PubMed search (or indeed any of the searches from the Searches menu), I can't figure out how to return to viewing my original .bib file. After hitting the "import" button for whichever refs I want to add to my .bib file, I am stuck at viewing the search results, or doing a new search. The only way I can figure out to get back to the .bib file, which I have just imported the news refs into, is to hit save, close the file, and then reopen it. I had imagined that maybe hitting the Escape key or something would make the Search window pane disappear, and would return me to the .bib file, but nothing like that seems to work. I couldn't find the answer in the Help or in the archives of this mailing list. Forgive me if I am being stupid. I feel sure there must be an easy way of returning to the main bib view after being done with the PubMed search, but I can't see what it is. In any case if the file content index hasn't been built (as is sadly often the case with my usage) then Bibdesk isn't actually even searching file content with "any field", so it really doesn't make sense. [Bibdesk-users] Applescript to add Abstract to Bibdesk record from Skim
Hi, I've created a simple applescript, which takes the currently selected text from skim and adds it to the appropriate Bibtex-record in BibDesk. For finding the appropriate record, it relies upon Bibdesk's autofiling-feature, which I have configured to use part of the publication's title as the file name (%a1/%T5.pdf). If it cannot find an publication (e.g. because autofiling is not used or configured differently), the script asks if it should use the previously selected publication (which actually most of the time is the case, if Bibdesk is used to open the file in Skim). The script can be downloaded at http://www.oppl.info/software/files/ Abstract%20to%20Bibdesk Feel free to comment or make suggestions for improvements. regards, stefan - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
