Same stuff but double strength, so you use half as much. Probably done
to save on shipping costs.

[Blackbelly] transport trip planning - PremierLimo trips available

2011-07-29 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I knew it was a mistake to visit Murphy ID on the last trip - after
leaving me alone for a while Murphy hitched a ride with me when leaving
Murphy ID - in spite of Murphy's interference the van tow vehicle has a
new transmission and a new rear end differential for the early AUG trip
- as soon as TX to ID export paperwork is ready I will be making a TX AZ
ID run to deliver the export animal

then I will jump over to WallaWalla WA to pick up my new Bruton luxury
limo trailer - I have limited space on a WA to MN to MI to TX loop with
that trailer

planning is progressing for later trips - I expect to be going north
from TX to ND in mid SEP to deliver a load of export animals - then I
will go west to OR to pick up animals going east as far as the east
coast - from there my route depends upon reservations - keep me up to
date on your needs so I can include your animals in the trips

**Biosecurity concerns
**Valuable animals to move
**Animals needing special handling
**Short timeframe transport needed

TravelWithRonK's PremierLimo service is your answer!

Using one of my three tow vehicles and my new Bruton luxury
low profile sheep/goat trailer or either my 14x5 high roof
trailer or my 20x6 double deck trailer TravelWithRonK can
provide that specialized transport that you desire for one
animal or a large load - starting from my Texas base I will
go to your pick up site, pick up the animal(s), transport
them in minimal time to your drop off site, and then
return to my base

to see pictures of the TravelWithRonK 'bus' and 'limo' options go to:

http://CaprioleBoers.com

to see a picture of the Bruton luxury trailer - while there
be sure to look at the best selection of 'name' boer bloodlines
in the Pacific Northwest - thanks Terry!

http://www.JackMauldin.com/

go to the 'Our Articles' section and click on 'Transporting' -
while on Jack's site be sure to see the gorgeous animals on the
'Enoblements' page - those are the 'best of the best' of the
Boer breed! - thanks Jack!

A comment about PremierLimo fees - when you compare a bus ride fee
to a taxicab fee there is a significant difference - the same
applies to PremierLimo fees - bus service depends upon a large
number of riders contributing a smaller amount each toward the
total cost of transport service - limo service depends upon one
or a very limited number of riders paying the total transport fee
- the same applies to PremierLimo - PremierLimo fees will be
considerably more than bus fees but when your circumstances
warrant the expense then PremierLimo will provide the service

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals in each email - I do not
monitor the groups closely so please reply to my home
email address rkeener@realtime. net

A comment about my commitment to providing the best in service:
the economy has been rough on agriculture - most of my competitors are
gone but I continue to expand my service to give your animals the best
transport experience possible - you can depend upon TravelWithRonK to
provide honest fair priced transport service now and in the future!

[Blackbelly] OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!!

2011-07-29 Thread Ron Keener

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!!! - do you have a gypsy spirit? - would you like an
excuse for wandering around the country at a leisurely pace with
occasional spurts from point A to point B? - I am exploring the concept
of adding some retired people (man, woman, couple) to a list of people
willing to occasionally fill gaps in my PremierLimo service when I am
not able to meet the customers needs - I would arrange the transport,
set fees, and do all coordinating with the customer - you would arrive
at the pick up location with your rig (ideally a small RV and small
livestock trailer), pick up the animal(s), and transport to the drop off
location - you would collect the transport fee and pay me a finders fee
- the rest of the fee is yours for gas money to support your vagabond
lifestyle! - if you are interested please send me a private message with
information about your status and your qualifications to be trusted with
valuable animals for a few days

Re: [Blackbelly] Algae bloom in ponds

2011-07-29 Thread Terry
I am interspersing my reply on this one!!!

--- On Thu, 7/28/11, Mary Swindell mswin...@siu.edu w

However, another solution which you touched upon is an
aerating fountain.  That involves some up-front cost,
but might be the most natural, non-invasive solution of
all.  I know someone who has a floating aerating
fountain connected to a dedicated windmill.  The
windmill drives the fountain pump so that no other power
source is needed.  This might be a good solution.

One of the locals here started raising fish. And yes, each pond has a windmill
for aeration. Never a sign of algae issues, not even when they drain to
harvest the crop.

Another approach:  I have added several geese to my
farm over the past 2 years, and I have no algae nor pond
weed anymore.  I wasn't sure if the waterfowl addition
would be good or bad for the pond, but so far it seems to
have a fairly benevolent effect.  Of course, you have
to put up with a little honking and squabbling of the birds
from time to time, ha ha!

Geese and most ducks are great at reducing unwanted growth
Ducks are perhaps, a bit messier in some respects, but geese will also 'weed'
gardens. If you can get the fowl to lay eggs in one location, you then have a
second product to sell-- all the nutrition in those eggs from the water weeds
and algae , lower cholesterol than factory farm eggs, etc...
And I don't mind the honking--why live in the country if you can't appreciate
all the smells and sounds?
