Rick,
A blind friend told me that she clicked on the link about us and was able
to create a radio station herself. My problem now is that when I click on
that site it goes to the most recent station created and I have no idea how
to click on other links. I've tried but it isn't working.

I was able to reproduce your problem on that website.
I didn't have to re-boot the machine, I just used the Jaws dump keystroke,
and closed the website.
After that I used Narrator to see what else was open, before re-loading
Jaws.
Useing the latest version of Jaws8, on WinXP home service pack 2.
I'll attempt the page again with a different version of Jaws,

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Problem on AVG download page

Hi list,

I don't think I've posted on this list before but feel you may be able to
help with this one.

I was looking for the download link for the free version of AVG antivirus.
I found the right page at the following site

www.free.grisoft.com
then into the Download page.

When cursoring around the area of the relevant links deciding which one to
enter on, Jaws suddenly crashed and the computer started its swirling or
whirring noise, whichever. This has now happened twice today in almost
exactly the same spot on the page. Had to press and hold in the off switch
to shut down. The computer rebooted ok so no permanent damage.

I'm using Windows XP, SP2 and the latest version of Jaws 8.0. If anyone
could cast some light on this I'd be grateful.

BTW, I've been using AVG for a few years now but was trying to locate the
place to help a mate of mine who wants to download it.

TIA

David

2007-07-01 Thread Ricque
Hi Steve,
I don't have it installed anymore, but I do recall that it is useable with
Jaws.
Somewhere I'm sure I had recommendations for CPU temps
which were in celsius, but can't even recall what they were.
My systems have variable fans on the CPU and case, so I really don't worry
about over-heating that much.

 Hey Ricque,

Yes. When I go to Outlook it automatically goes to my inbox. I keep my
computer on all day. I am
at home alone all day long. I was hoping to be able to hear a sound when
 I
 get an email in my
inbox, so I would know to go to the computer and see what it is. I get so
 many emails each day, if
I don't stay on top of them, they get out of hand really quickly.

No Ricque. I want just one sound for all of the emails that come into my
 inbox. I never know what
is coming into my inbox. I just want to create a sound for it whenever
 anything comes there. The
other folders that I have created are
 1. JAWS-Users
 2. Blind Handy Man
 3. Blind Like Me
 4. Blind-Computing
 5. White House Clinic (where my wife works)
For all of these folders I had to highlight the group address, and create
 a
 folder with a particular
sound for each folder, and the group emails go into their respected folder
 whith a sound playing
when it arrives. Going into my inbox is just a variety of random emails
that I get during the day.
So, I am wanting to create a sound that will play whenever one of these
 random emails arrives in the
inbox. I hope all of this rambling is making sense to you.

 Hi Donnie,
 Am I understanding you correctly,
you wish to have individual sounds applied to specific e-mails that come
 into the, In-Box?
In other words, if you have 5 different people's messages coming into the
In-Box, you want a sound for each person's message.

 Subject: [Blind-Computing] Creating Folder Sounds

I have 5 folders in Outlook 2000 that I have created a sound for, when an
 email arrives in that
folder. These folders receive emails from various groups that I am a
 member
 of. Before the
individual folder sounds would work, I had to go into my control panel and
turn off the sound for my
inbox. I still have a variety of odd and end emails come into my inbox.
 The various emails that
continue to come into my inbox does not have a sound to be played when
 they
 arrive. What I am
wanting to know is, is there a way that I can go ahead and create a sound
 for the assorted emails
that come into my inbox, without causing interference with the sounds of
 the
 other folders. If so,
please give me instructions on how to do this. I have tried following the
 same steps that I used
for creating sounds for the other folders, but for some reason I can't
create a sound for my inbox
 in the same way.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Help with MP3 Direct cut

Hi all. I have just installed the newest version of MP3 Direct cut.
 version
205 or at least that is the version listed on the .exe file. I have also
installed from the jaws users sight the latest laim.ink.dll file. I have
 run
in to a problem though. I want to try appending files. Putting one file
 and
another file together. The problem is that this option is not in the list
 of
choices under the file menu and this is after I checked the box that said
append in the configuration thing when setting up the program using the f
 12
key and jaws 7.0 Also when I tried to put 2 music mp3's together and
 tried
to play them with space bar I got the following. Decoder init error
 graphic 722 Could not load mpglib.dll ...
OK and then when I press space bar to hit ok I gert the following
 mp3DirectCut
How to install/activate the MPEG decoder mpglib.dll
  - Download it from mp3DirectCut's homepage
  - Extract the file into the program's folder
  - Go to Settings = Configure... = Devices
  - Under MPEG Decoder select mpglib.dll
OK If some one can please help me with this that would be grate. Many
Many thanks. from Mich Verrier from New Liskeard Ontario Canada.

Hi Berrie,
What have you installed recently?
If you can access the internet, just to be on the safe side,
itt wouldn't hurt to update your security software, and then disconnect from
the internet, and run a full security scan of your entire drive.
Since you don't know exactly what it is, you shouldn't delete it just yet.
I'll see if I can find anything more on this critter.

Re: [Blind-Computing] [Blind-Computing A Web Site]C Question

2007-07-01 Thread Ricque
Hi Linda,
I returned to the site, and after awhile, finally found a way into the
registration form.
Now, if I can do it again, I will document it, and pass it along.
Keep in mind, that this is with the latest version of Jaws 8, and Internet
Explorer 6, and results may vary from system to system.
I don't have a lot of time to spend on this at once, but can work with it a
little at a time.

Linda here. I recently learned of a web site called www.pandora.com which
allows you to create your own radio station. It is free. Actually, you can
create up to a hundred of them. I will tell you about this site, but my
question is, how do I use it with jaws? So far I have had to have help.

When you create a radio station you name an artist, and the site will put
that artist on, as well as other artists with the same type of style. You
have the option to say thumbs up on that song, or I don't like that song, or
play this song in a month because I'm tired of it. I would really like to
know if it is possible to navigate this site. Also, it is possible to let
friends hear your radio stations from their computers. After about five
minutes of initial playing the music will stop and ask you once for your
email address and password, which never have to be entered again if you are
accessing the site from your own computer. It is possible to access the
site from anywhere though. It is really quite amazing how they can match
the styles. Sometimes there is a mismatch, but not very often. I really
would like to learn if we can navigate this site.

Thanks to anyone who tries and responds.
Linda

Rinehart, go to k1000 (I am using v 8.20) to the file menu, arrow down to
launch submenu and arrow down to photocopy. Follw the instructions and you
will get a photocopy from your printer. marilyn

 Hi

 Can you browse the internet?

Did a search on google for Juice.exe, and found this page which might be
 relevant:

 http://www.file.net/process/juice.exe.html

I'll be honest and say that I've never heard of a thing called Juice.exe,
and if you didn't specifically install it, maybe you should
 uninstall/delete
 it or something?
