[Blind-Computing] Windows Mobile Device Center/Sync Center

2009-03-06 Thread Wes Derby
Hi All.

Okay, I've established the partnership in the Mobile Device Center between
my PACMate, which is still oon Windows Mobile 2003, and my PC.The Sync on
that went on fine. However, I can't seem to get it to recognize my Sprint
Mogul, which runs Windows Mobile 6.1. I'm using the USB connection, same as
with the PACMate. I've disabled the Firewall, anti-virus, all of that.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

[Blind-Computing] Strange Winamp Question

2009-03-06 Thread Chris Hallsworth
Hello all,
My friend's having a strange problem with Winamp. He's got two CD's, both
ripped fine. However, on the second CD, Winamp is blatently ignoring the
last track, yet it's available in Windows Explorer and is in MP3 format!
What's going on here?

Hello friends;
I really don't know what I have done, but very frequently now I have to go
on the gmail server and perform a mass delete of messages due to Outlook
Express not downloading even small attachments. I've removed the check

Re: [Blind-Computing] Need some help with Outlook Express please

2009-03-06 Thread steve.boodram
Bill, there is some kind of misunderstanding here. What you have suggested
prevents attachments from opening, but being downloaded. My problem is that
every time there is an attachment, the message comes up. Could you be a
little more elaborate? If I understand you correctly, you mean the options
menu under tool, but as I said that feature is checked, so the attachments
are not being downloaded.

You need to open the Tools/Options multi-tab dialog, go to the Security
Tab
and uncheck the item that says something about attachments. This is a
VERY

brain-dead algorithm; as far as I can figure, if an attachment is anything
at all but ASCII text ti prevents you from getting to it.

By the way, the attachments are probably being downloaded, you just can't
get to them.

www.workplacelikehome is a good forum for this. This has forums on it
about

real work from home opportunities that are not scams. My wife works from
home as a sales/customer service rep, and I work from home as a medical
transcriptionist. One major thing. Stay miles and miles away from the
company called Arise. They don't give a hoot about their agents and would
expect you to work for dirt even if you were to drop dead. Not exactly a
scam, but they are greedy, self-serving little creeps.

Hi there,
This might be slightly OT, but I thought I'd ask since, if I'm right,
someone on this list talked of using a website that allows you to work
from

home.
Does anyone know of a directory for legitimate websites like that, or does
anyone use any?
Thanks in advance.

To uninstall any program, it must first be closed. If you can't close
Flock
using Alt-F4, close it using the Windows Task Manager
(Alt-Control-Delete).

Flock should be listed on the Applications page. Tab once to the End Task
button, hit Space, and Flock should close. Then you can continue with the
uninstall. If the Uninstall Flock option on the All Programs submenu
doesn't work, you can uninstall it from the Add/Remove Programs option of
the Control Panel.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] want to get rid of flock

Hi, everyone. I just downloaded a browser called flock but now I wish I
hadn't. I'm trying to uninstall it but it's not letting me. I keep
getting

this message that says "please close flock and click ok to continue
uninstalling". Could someone please tell me how to get rid of the darn
web

browser?

Thanks.

Hi there,
This might be slightly OT, but I thought I'd ask since, if I'm right,
someone on this list talked of using a website that allows you to work from
home.
Does anyone know of a directory for legitimate websites like that, or does
anyone use any?
Thanks in advance.

www.workplacelikehome is a good forum for this. This has forums on it about
real work from home opportunities that are not scams. My wife works from
home as a sales/customer service rep, and I work from home as a medical
transcriptionist. One major thing. Stay miles and miles away from the
company called Arise. They don't give a hoot about their agents and would
expect you to work for dirt even if you were to drop dead. Not exactly a
scam, but they are greedy, self-serving little creeps.

Re: [Blind-Computing] want to get rid of flock

2009-03-06 Thread Gerald Levy

To uninstall any program, it must first be closed. If you can't close Flock
using Alt-F4, close it using the Windows Task Manager (Alt-Control-Delete).

I get that message often, I think it is gmail themselves with the issue not

I just ignore this message to be honest, and hope gmail sorts itself out.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Need some help with Outlook Express please

Hello friends;
I really don't know what I have done, but very frequently now I have to go
on the gmail server and perform a mass delete of messages due to Outlook
Express not downloading even small attachments. I've removed the check
mark specifying a particular size of message, and did all that I know
about.
Is there a way to restore Outlook Express to its default or some kind of
factory setting for want of a better word. I use to download messages
about 6MB as far as I could remember, but not sure what happens now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the message I receive:

Re: [Blind-Computing] Strange thing happening with Excel

2009-03-06 Thread Lennie Rinaldi

Hi cliff,

I had a similar problem when using multiple worksheets in Excel.

On my third worksheet, every time I entered a date using slashes, the
resulting date read by Jaws was somewhere around 1900. It was not the
same problem you had with your dates,

I had to open up a new book and typed the date there and format it to
display what I was looking for. I then copied that date and pasted it
in the third worksheet.

I got around this problem by doing the same thing you did. I created
a fourth worksheet and made all my entries there. I deleted the
third worksheet and the fourth one became the new third one.

I tried everything to correct the problem in the original third
worksheet, but I couldn't make it work. I have no idea how this
problem can be solved other then creating a new worksheet.
Apparently, the format in a cell just cannot be changed once you
establish the date format. Weird, I know!

I don't understand, however, why there should be this change from
regular date notation to the internal numeration on the third sheet.
Can someone shed any light on this for me?

I was attempting to rename a sheet last night in Excel 2007. Since I could
not find this option in the ribbons, I was reading through the Excel help
regarding sheets. I still could not find this option in the ribbons, so I
used the JAWS cursor to find and right click on the sheet tab. Anyway, it
was clear in the help pages that Excel's default for a new document is to
use a template with 3 sheets. Perhaps the default template has different
cell formatting on the third sheet? If so, it should be easy to open the
default template, delete the third sheet, insert a new sheet based on one of

the first two sheets and save as the default template.

You need to change the cell's format to date. This can be accomplished
with
control+number 1.

Hello, again:

I just brought up that worksheet, and put in todays' date, using the
control-semicolon keystroke. The date read as it should, when inserted.
When
read back, it read as a different formula, altogether.

3/1/06 = 39873

Something is turned on that shouldn't be, and I'd love to know what it is.

Cliff,

I don't really understand what your problem is. I have a question for
you.
How come the date is shown with dashes instead of slashes? You have
2-6-09
whereas I normally use 2/6/09.

Are you saying that the date and the number that represents the date is
in
your cell? I went into Excel and typed your first date and when I did a
Ctrl+F2 on that cell, the result was 39850, but that number is the
formula
for the date which is not displayed with the date. I am wondering if
there
is some feature in Excel that displays the formula with the data? .

Good.

Some programs wouldn't uninstall/clear their user data when being
