Yes, the only way I have found to get rid of that is to download the latest

CTRL+P. Also a clarification: alt+f will bring up the Winamp main menu,
so

no need to open the Winamp submenu.

In the main winamp window, hit alt + F to open the menu, move down to the
winamp submenu, go down to preferences, and hit enter on it.

It should start on general on the tree structure, and just tab until you
hear an option relating to checking for updates at startup, hit space to
clear it, and tab to close, and hit space.

Think there's also a hotkey to automatically go into that preferences
dialogue, and think it's something like either Ctrl + P or Alt + P, but
can't remember off hand.

Hello Donnie;

hear's the read me file;

 ***Noisy Keyboard ReadMe file***

(For best results, make sure "Word Wrap" in your text editor is turned on.)

PROGRAM AND AUTHOR INFORMATION:

Title: Noisy Keyboard
Version: 3.0
Author: Lior Ostrowsky
E-mail: lio...@yahoo.com or li...@hotmail.com
Web site: http://members.tripod.com/~leeos
Release date: December, 1998

DISTRIBUTION STATUS:

This software is released as "freeware." It may be freely distributed
through all regular shareware and freeware channels, but it may not be sold.
All rights are reserved by Lior Ostrowsky.

USER RISKS:

Because of the wide variety of hardware and software combinations available
today, it's up to the user to ensure that Noisy Keyboard functions well in
his or her environment. The user must assume the entire risk of using the
product.

DESCRIPTION:

Noisy Keyboard lets you play a .wav file of your choice every time you press
one of your keyboard keys.

Noisy Keyboard is particularly handy and fun when you're working with your
Word processor or Text editor (and miss your old typewriter).

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

- Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.x

- Sound card (16-bit sound card needed to play the enclosed .wav files) and
speakers

- Enough free disk space to accommodate the software (around 467KB)

PACKAGE CONTENTS:

- Nkboarb.exe (the Noisy Keyboard executable)

- Nkboard.dll (.dll file needed to run Noisy Keyboard)

- ReadMe.txt (what you're reading right now)

- Events.txt (Noisy Keyboard sound events description)

- Setup keystroke events.exe (lets you install and uninstall the Noisy sound
events)

- Seven sample .wav files for assigning to Noisy Keyboard events

TO INSTALL:

1. Copy the contents of this archive to a folder of your choice (such as
C:\NKEYBOARD or C:\Program Files\Noisy Keyboard).

2. Run the file Setup keystroke events.exe. This will let you install the
Noisy Keyboard sound events to the Windows Control Panel Sounds Properties
applet when you press the "Install" button.

3. The Windows Control Panel Sounds Properties applet will open, letting you
assign any .wav file you want to the new Noisy Keyboard events. Seven .wav
files (recorded in 22K 16-bit mono) you might wish to use are included. If
you don't wish to hear one of the Noisy Keyboard events, leave its event set
to (None).

4. For convenience, it's recommended that you put your favourite sounds in
the Media folder (usually C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA) so they'll appear in the Sounds
Properties applet dropdown box, which lets you change them more easily.

5. Create a shortcut to Nkboard.exe in your StartUp folder if you wish Noisy
Keyboard to launch each time you boot into Windows.

TO UNINSTALL:

1. Run Setup keystroke events.exe.

2. Click on the "Uninstall" button to remove the sound events from the
Control Panel Sounds Properties applet.

3. Delete all the files that came with this archive.

4. Delete any Noisy Keyboard shortcuts you may have created.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

After installing the Noisy Keyboard sound events (see above) run
Nkboard.exe, which will place an icon in your system tray. You'll then hear
an assigned sound each time you press one of your keyboard keys. To turn
Noisy Keyboard on or off, left-click once on the taskbar icon. Or, you can
right-click on the taskbar icon and choose "Noisy Keyboard" from its popup
menu. Everything else should be self-explanatory.

KNOWN ISSUES:

If you're already using a utility to assign functions to your keyboard keys
Noisy Keyboard might not play sounds for those keys that are already
assigned. Also, if you're using a third-party utility to play additional
sounds in Windows (like Wired For Sound Pro), Noisy Keyboard might conflict
with some of the other program's sounds.

RELEASE HISTORY:

Version 1.0

- Initial Not Release version

Version 2.0

- Initial Release

Version 3.0

1. There is no special keys (Shift, Ctrl and Alt) sound.

2. Added more sound events. (Read Events.txt).

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Problem With Radio Shack Web Site and IE 8

Well, just when I thought everything was peachy keen with IE 8, I just
tried
to use it to access the Radio Shack home page, only to get a weird error
message that IE was unable to load the page. I had no trouble loading it
using Firefox, and never had any problem with this site using IE 7. I
would
appreciate it if anyone else using IE 8 could try to access this web site
and explain what's going on. Thanks. Gerald

Re: [Blind-Computing] What is keyboard equivalent for "Drag & Drop"

2009-03-27 Thread Jacob Kruger
I think the second keystroke combination bypasses needing to use the jaws
cursor as such.

My only problem with it was that I specifically wanted to try dragging and
dropping controls onto a windows application form in visual studio.net while
doing some programming work, and it didn't seem to work, but that could also
be a script issue of sorts, and found another workaround for now anyway.

Hi, Jacob. Yes, jaws does support a version of drag and drop. I've never
had to do ti but insert left mouse button does lock the mouse button. You
do have to use the jaws cursor to drag a file to where you want it to go.

Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] What is keyboard equivalent for "Drag &

Depending on your screenreader, jaws does support a version of drag and
drop
using the jaws cursor, but it's something I haven't really tested yet,
but

here's some relevant info from the jaws help:

Left Mouse Button Lock (INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH)

This command simulates pressing down the left mouse button and holding
it.

Once pressed, the JAWS cursor can be moved with the arrow keys. JAWS will
not speak until INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH is pressed again to unlock the left
mouse button. This command can be used to drag items from one location
and

drop them in another.

Apart from that bit of info, the following is actually the keystroke they
say you should use:
Drag and Drop CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH

I think it automatically starts dragging whatever you're currently
focused

on, and then when you're in the place you want it to go to, you hit it
again, and it'll drag/drop that object/item there.

Try turning on your keyboard help using jaws key + number row 1, and hit
that key combo twice and it'll give you a bit of better description.

This is all assuming you're using a new enough version of jaws.

Hello all.
I recently purchased a talking Ipod and have had limited success with
it.

I have not been able to figure out how to put files in to a given
playlist.
I know this can be accomplished by dragging a file and dropping it in to
the desired playlist but I can't figure out the keyboard equivalent.
Cutting and pasting doesn't work. I have tried everything I can think of
with no success.
If anyone can help me out I'd sure be appreciative.
Thanks.

I meant you can copy that file around, and if you hit enter on it in
windows

explorer, it will try to apply it to the machine, but it's only a bunch of
settings, so if the required background images aren't there on the other
machine, it will give you an error.

Hi All,

We have created a theme in control panel/display/theme page. I believe
that
somehow I was able to copy it and it is in My Documents listed as
"Barbara.Theme". Is "Theme" the correct file extension for a theme file?
If not what file extension do theme files use? Where exactly are theme
files stored? I have looked in the Windows folder on the C Drive and
don't
see anything with a "theme" extension. I haven't been able to find any
way
of exporting this file so, this is why I'm trying to copy & paste so we
can
take this theme file to another computer. Jacob, you had mentioned that
opening this theme file in Windows Explorer would allow us to move this
file. I don't understand what you mean by opening with Windows Explorer.
Would you please explain in detail? All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks much, take care.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Nero Question

2009-03-27 Thread Jacob Kruger

Yes.

Using instructions from a tutorial, I start nero burning rom, shift tab to
the CD/DVD combo box and make sure it's set to CD, then shift tab to the
list of types of recordings, and there I have to wait a little before it's
actively usable, then down to audio CD which is second in the list of my
version.

Then shift tab to the new button which brings up a dialogue with a tree
structure to browse the file system, and when you're on the folder where you
want to copy files from, the one list will have that folders files in it.

Here you select the ones you want and hit Ctrl + C to copy them to the
clipboard, then tab over to the image listbox and paste them there, then on
the recording menu, you choose start recording, and there you go.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Problem With Radio Shack Web Site and IE 8

2009-03-27 Thread rafrost

Hi,
I'm running Jaws 10 with IE 8 under windows vista and radioshack.com is
working just fine as can be here.
though I myself did run into a slight difficulty at the Sovereign Bank
online banking site but it is Sovereign's problem with IE 8 and they do know
about it. I just thought I'd mention it here in case any listers also bank
there. It works fine with Fire fox and a fix for that site any way should
be forth coming within days. But as I said Radio shack is performing fine
here.

Hope this helps.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Problem With Radio Shack Web Site and IE 8

2009-03-27 Thread Gerald Levy

Thanks, Mike. I found a different Radio Shack page that I was able to load
successfully using IE 8 running XP. This page also contains the search
Radio Shack edit box, so I'll use this page instead. I have not
encountered problems with any other web sites so far.

CTRL+P. Also a clarification: alt+f will bring up the Winamp main menu, so
no need to open the Winamp submenu.

[Blind-Computing] Accessible Photo Album Collage Software

2009-03-27 Thread Parham Doustdar
Hi there,
Are there any photo album collage software that are accessible? Among these
software I can name Pro Show Gold, and Picture Package.

What these software do is to mix the pictures you select on the music you
select, in randomized order, and with randomized effects, and flip the photos
as if you were turning the pages of a photo album.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: [Blind-Computing] What is keyboard equivalent for "Drag & Drop"

2009-03-27 Thread Rosemarie Chavarria
Hi, Jacob. Yes, jaws does support a version of drag and drop. I've never
had to do ti but insert left mouse button does lock the mouse button. You
do have to use the jaws cursor to drag a file to where you want it to go.

Depending on your screenreader, jaws does support a version of drag and
drop

using the jaws cursor, but it's something I haven't really tested yet, but
here's some relevant info from the jaws help:

Left Mouse Button Lock (INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH)

This command simulates pressing down the left mouse button and holding it.
Once pressed, the JAWS cursor can be moved with the arrow keys. JAWS will
not speak until INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH is pressed again to unlock the left
mouse button. This command can be used to drag items from one location and
drop them in another.

Apart from that bit of info, the following is actually the keystroke they
say you should use:
Drag and Drop CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH

I think it automatically starts dragging whatever you're currently focused
on, and then when you're in the place you want it to go to, you hit it
again, and it'll drag/drop that object/item there.

Try turning on your keyboard help using jaws key + number row 1, and hit
that key combo twice and it'll give you a bit of better description.

This is all assuming you're using a new enough version of jaws.

Stay well

I meant you can copy that file around, and if you hit enter on it in windows
explorer, it will try to apply it to the machine, but it's only a bunch of
settings, so if the required background images aren't there on the other
machine, it will give you an error.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] What is keyboard equivalent for "Drag & Drop"

Hello all.
I recently purchased a talking Ipod and have had limited success with it.
I have not been able to figure out how to put files in to a given playlist.
I know this can be accomplished by dragging a file and dropping it in to the
desired playlist but I can't figure out the keyboard equivalent.
Cutting and pasting doesn't work. I have tried everything I can think of
with no success.
If anyone can help me out I'd sure be appreciative.
Thanks.

Pete
