Yvonne, It sounds like microsoft has snuck into your i e settings. This
is

happening more often lately. Go to tools, options and arrow to all the
stuff about home page. You might have to delete the hot mail entry and
then

type in your home page choice again. marilyn

David Bales has written a Jaws guide to Internet Explorer 8, the vast

Speaking of JAWS and Internet Explorer 8, the latest incremental upgrade
adds some enhanced support, as well as adding support for Windows 7 and

I did some checking, and apparently, Talking Desktop Clock was updated to
version 1.1 a few days ago, so it's possible that some change was made to
this program that triggered this error message. The only thing I can
suggest is to remove the program and reinstall it again. Sorry I can't be
more helpful. I'm running Talking Desktop Clock 1.0.4, which works fine
with XP Pro.

 hello again Gerald
i found the talking clock and managed to go through as many of the
 settings as i could
some boxes had nothing in them and although it said use arrow keys
 nothing happened
so i am not doing very well at the moment
i did manage to get it to speak once or twice but not any more

and it gives a selection box for chime periods and all of those are
 checked

also it says i have a choice of 10 voices but i can only find 3 what
 happened to the other 7?

it wont announce the time or chime when required

another thing is i set the time to 21 09 which it was when i set it and
set the date to 23 2009 but it said august and wont let me select June
oh how i need some help here
if you are on skype maybe you could talk me through it or can you send
 a
step by step guide for me to follow in setting up and using the clock

one last thing for now can i get it to speak in the same way as the
computer built in clock or does it just work on its own at the chime
 request
 thank you

Re: [Blind-Computing] IE 8 and windows XP

2009-06-29 Thread Marek Durila
Hi all,
I'm using IE 8 too, but sometimes, when I go with tab key through the page
or when I open a new tab, IE 8 fall down and I must run again. I don't
know, if this is made by Jaws 9.0 or it's normal Microsoft properties :D.
  With best regards,

It depends. Sorry I can't give a more definitive answer, but some features

of IE 8 work fine with JAWS 9, while others don't. For instance, the JAWS
read Address Bar command, Insert-A, does not work with JAWS 9, although I
understand that it does work with the latest build of JAWS 10. And
depending on which IE add-ons you have enabled, some web pages may not
load.
Try it for yourself. If it doesn't work for you, you can easily uninstall
it and revert to IE 7 like I did.

Hi Chris,
Actually, I am using JAWS 9 on that computer. Is this version of JAWS
compatible with IE 8?

God bless,

If you're using JAWS 8 or earlier then IE8 won't work for you. I suggest
reverting back to IE7 if your screen reader doesn't work with IE8.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] IE 8 and windows XP

Hi
Today my IE 7 decided to update to IE 8. I thought it sounded like a
good idea. So, I told it to go ahead. Now it will only run with add ons
disabled and when I bring up my home page (Google) it says I need to press
a
button to open parent document. First, how do I turn on add ons in IE 8 and
second, how do I get IE 8 to display the real Google page?
 Thank you for your help.

God bless,
Mark

[Blind-Computing] lotus notes 7.0 and selected item

2009-06-29 Thread Marek Durila
Hi everybody,
I was searching when I could turn off the message, but no success.
When I'm in lotus notes 7. treview as in-box, send, Jaws everytime will
tell to me, selected.
The same problem is, when I'm in list view databases, calendar entry.
And last think in lotus notes is, that
two items are reading as mail, but if I saw the name of the item it's
written properly. It's databases and another, which I can't remember now.
Any ideas?
With best regards,
   Marek Durila
