Hi friends!I hope you are having a good today.

I'm a blind electronic engineer, 56, who needs your help.
After update to Skipe version 4.1 and aborted the installation in some way, my

At first when I went to Control Panel and select and active Sounds and Devices
I heard this:

 Driver32 Dialog
Can not find the MMDRIVER.INF file needed to install drivers.
The file may be damaged or may not be in your WindowsSystem32 directory.
Copy the original file on Windows disk1 to your System32Directory. OK Vutton.
Now when I go to Control Panel I don't find the Sounds and Devices option.
Also when I go to Master Volume I hear:
 --Playback default device: TRealtek AC97
--Record default device: AK5370. I use Windows XP and JAWS 7.10.
 Could you help me, Please?
P.D. I don't have any Windows and JAWS disks...excuse me rubbish english...
Thanks you and good luck, Jose Ortega from Mexico.

[Blind-Computing] simple way to burn a CD with WMP11 and XP

2009-08-22 Thread Silly Goose
I use iTunes for playing music but I prefer to use the regular CD burning
capability of the XP operating system which uses WMP 11.

I do keep my music in the My Music folder so it is easy to find. I just use WMP
11 when quickly checking out a song to see if I want to add it to my iTunes
library and for burning CD's.

Simple instructions for making music or data CD's with Windows XP and Windows
Media Player 11.

Select music or other audio files for your CD by highlighting one or more
files.and Then press applications key, choose Send to and choose CD drive D.
(You can also find Send to in the File menu.)

2. I usually put 19 or 20 songs for a regular music CD. If it is too big, it
will let you know.

3. Go to My Computer and open CD Drive d.

4. This folder should have the music you sent here. You can also just copy and
paste into this folder.

5. In the CD Drive D folder choose Burn these files to a CD from the file
menu.

6. This puts you into the Wizard in the CD title box. You can either use the
default title for the CD (the Current date) or change it to one of your choice.

Tab once to the checkbox for Close this window when burning is complete. The
default is checked. Then tab once more and click Next.

7. If you have not already placed a blank CD in the drive it will then prompt
you to do so at this point.

8. This screen allows you to choose music CD or data CD. Music CD is the
default so just choose the Next button.

9. It then throws you into Windows Media Player. I have version 11 so I just
press Alt S and the burn process begins. It is quiet at first so you might not
think it worked but after a minute or two you can hear the CD drive begin to
spin. The CD pops out when finished.

I burned a bunch of them yesterday so I sort of got in the groove and it was
easy.

Freedom Scientific provided the authorization removal,
in the case of having Jaws authorized on someone else's computer, or in the
event you were going to part with that machine.
As long as you have your authorization disk for Jaws, re-authorizing is done
via the internet, unless you have a dongle to authorize Jaws.

When I remove the key, I thought the key returned back to the FS data bank
and I would get it back during the proper authorization method.
So, if I couldn't get my key back, what is the difference between
uninstall and remove product key then?
In the old JFW product key, we used to remove the product key to the
floppy disk and to the pc to authorize again! Hmmm.

Yes you can. What I mean is that the key count from the server won't
increase even if you remove it from the local system.

Ok, if I want to get back my key, what do I do?
Already I put my Authorization CD in the CDROM.
So, can't I retrieve the key from the FS site?

Go to start, All Programs, JAWS 9.0, Tools, Remove Product Activation.
Please note you cannot have the key back once it is removed.

[Blind-Computing] Updating Adobe Flash Player

2009-08-22 Thread Doug Leavens
How does one do this? It doesn't appear to be one's standard download and
install link on the Adobe page.
Thanks in advance.

2009-08-22 Thread allen dunbar
if you hit the alt key while adobe is open you can arrow around to check for
updates when you hear it click on it it will say checking for updates if
there any available it will list them you can arrow through them and use the
space bar to select the ones you want to install tab to install it should
say the updates are being installed you can continue to work while the
installation is occurring as it is minimized to the system tray

this is how you can do this

cheers

[Blind-Computing] Netbooks with ubuntu

2009-08-22 Thread Tony Hernandez
HI all. Can anyone help me wade through the overwhelming info about netbooks
and Linux distributions? What I hav in mind is buying a netbook either bear
bones or one with Ubuntu or some other linux distribution installed on it so
I can run Orca. If anyone has experience with this and can make a
recommendation, I'd be very grateful. I'm thinking it would be even cheaper
than getting a netbook with Windows on it. Thanks in advance.
