format (january-2010-Picture 001.jpg), but my PC will only rename the files to
the followig format (january-2010-Picture (1).jpg. My Operating system is
windows XP Pro. SP3, JAWS11 & the method I have been using to rename my
pictures is:-
1) Select the Picture folder in question.
2) Select all the pictures in that folder by pressing Ctl + A.
3) Press the F2 key, type in the new file name & press Enter.
therefore please could anyone explain what I am doing wrong!.
Thanks for any advice given.

Derek,

I'm not aware of any way to rename multiple files at once. The F2 command
will rename a folder or file, but not multiple folders and files, if I'm not
mistaken.

Blessings,
Stewart A Overbey Jr.

[Blind-Computing] Using Overlayed calendars in Outlook 2007 with JFW

2010-01-28 Thread Frank Ventura
Hi all, I have a client of mine who is using Outlook 2007 with JFW 10.
She manages about four or five shared calendars. As part of her job
duties she has to find open time slots on all of those calendars. The
way to do this in Outlook 2007 is to use overlay mode which you can get
to by selecting the calendars you want in the navigation pane and
choosing "Overlay" from the view menu. Visually what this does is put
appointments from all selected calendars into one view so that empty
time slots are very obvious. The problem we are having is that JFW is
only reading appointments from the last selected calendar. Does anyone
have any suggestions as to how to get Overlay mode to work in JFW? I
have tried this with JFW 10 and 11 with no luck.

Thanks

Frank Ventura

[Blind-Computing] esics smart security?

2010-01-28 Thread Carliss
Listers,

Has anyone ever heard Esics Smart Security announce its updating? Have you
heard your screen reader read that the Smart Security is updating, maybe not
those words, but just letting you know that it's updating?

I've had my office PC running for a couple of days now to see if I would
hear when Smart Security was updating. Now I wasn't in the office at all
times, but I spend a lot of time in the office. Just would like to know that
the program is working properly.

I really like Esics programs and I am very glad that Smart Security does
work with Jaws11.

Oh, well, enough, hope to hear from someone that has experience with this
program.

Thanks!

Carliss

[Blind-Computing] A couple of problems

2010-01-28 Thread Doug Leavens
using jfw 11.(latest iteration) and win xp sp3.
Firstly: in O.E., when I click on an email message to read it,
I'm placed at the bottom, I have to key "home" to get to the top. This
didn't happen before.
Another more serious problem,
When I.E brings up a page, I can only read one line and nothing else.
Hitting arrow keys merely repeats the line, it doesn't seem to matter
whether I'm using the pc or jaws cursor.
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, Graham,

If you tried blocking the person's email address and it's not working,
you might have to call your internet provider and ask them what to do.
One time I was getting unwanted emails and I was able to successfully
block that person's email address.

Alan,
What browser are you using at the time this happens? If its IE 8, the
latest Java run time is JRE 618. Do a search for this update then find
the update you want to install I.E the online installation or the
offline one. There is another one, but can't remember what that one is.
LOL. Write me off list or on here if you need mor info. HTH.On 1/28/2010

2010-01-28 Thread Jacob Kruger
I'm also running jaws 11.0.756, windows XP, etc. and don't have those
issues.

What version of internet explorer are you running? I stick with 7 generally,
but did have 8 on here before without any real issues.

Can only really suggest trying to maybe run a jaws reinstall/repair and see
if that helps in case some of your jaws scripts etc. got corrupted or
something.
