When copying the formula, just press Control + c as normal. Now select
the cells or range of cells, hit the Applications key and hit Enter on
Paste Special. A dialog will appear with several radio buttons asking
what you want to paste. Select Formulas Only and hit Enter.

Is there a way to sellect a written formula for copying to the clipboard.

I'm using excel 2003.

2011-08-17 Thread Margaret Thomas
Hi Mike,

I decided to be bold and took the update. At least the one It I was offered
required a reboot to complete. I took a very quick look at it with JAWS 10
since I had it running and I didn't want to bother with J12 which was a bit
more accessible here than 10 and didn't notice any changes. I did look at the
What's New page and there wasn't anything about an update yesterday or today
and the last one that was listed was on August 2nd which was the big one for
5.0x. I looked at the update options while I was there and there was a check
box for periodically check for application updates and another check box for
automatically download and install application updates. I think I got the
wording right.

Since I just went back to 5.0 Pro yesterday, & in doing so I had totally
removed SAS from my computers & did a fresh install, the update you received
was probably installed with the fresh reinstall, because I haven't received
any updates since reinstalling SAS. My guess is that it wouldn't do any
harm to update your version since it can't make anything worse, but might
make things better. Take care.

Re: [Blind-Computing] SuperAnti Spyware Pro users

2011-08-17 Thread Margaret Thomas
Mike,

I'm still running the Pro 5.x since I'm working on getting unnecessary stuff
off my XP in preparation for the Windows 7 machine and wanted a time when I
could concentrate on getting the old Super Anti-Spyware. I wandered in the
computer room to check on the progress of the daily scheduled scan earlier
tonight only to be greeted by the message that an update was available, did I
want to download it? After the trouble the last update to 5.x caused, I said
no until I could find out what the update does. Did any brave soul say yes?
How accessible is it and what's new with it?

Thanks,

Margaret

Hi Margaret,

There is 1 thing to be aware of, & that is if you run the SAS 4.56 version,
you will be constantly be told that there are updates available, & asked if
you would like to update now! I found that to be such a nuisance, that I
updated to the 5.0 version. Take care.

[Blind-Computing] Google Survey to Better Understand Computer Usage

American Council of the Blind and Google Conduct Survey to Better
Understand Computer Usage and Assistive Technology Patterns in the Blind
Community
ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 16, 2011 -- Today, the American Council of the Blind
(ACB) announced it will be working with Google Inc. to survey blind,
visually impaired, and deaf-blind individuals to better understand how they
use
computers and assistive technology to access information.
"Having access to information through the use of accessible technology is
paramount in this day and age for education, employment and social
networking. Many studies have evaluated how users generally access the
Internet,
but none have focused specifically on the experience of blind users," said
Mitch Pomerantz, President of the American Council of the Blind. "We're
pleased to collaborate with Google to develop and implement this survey,
which
will look at how blind users choose and adopt assistive technologies and
how

they discover new tools and information. Understanding the needs of the
blind community is the first step to developing effective new ways of
accessing information in the cloud."
The survey, developed jointly by Google and the American Council of the
Blind, will gather data about technology use and needs in the blind
community. Respondents will be able to complete the survey by either
telephone or
web. Survey data will be used to better understand how blind users interact
with the web, which assistive technologies they find most useful, and how
they make decisions about whether to switch or upgrade tools.
"At Google we're committed to making our products accessible and we're
currently hard at work making improvements," said Alan Eustace, Senior Vice
President of Knowledge at Google. "By connecting with American Council of
the
Blind members, we hope to gain valuable insight into how the blind use the
Internet and how their needs are evolving with technology."
The survey, which will run through mid-September, is available immediately
at _www.acb.org/googlesurvey_ (http://www.acb.org/googlesurvey) .
Individuals who want to take the survey by telephone, please call
347-772-8355.

iTunes will work with System Access and NVDA. Truth be told I've never used
it with JAWS.

Hi list, Wondering if Itunes will work with JFW 11 or System Access.
I use both and am hearing so much about Itunes and am wondering if it is
worth installing or not.
All information and help is appreciated.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for reporting back on what the SAS folks said. It's very good news and
should make our lives a lot easier.

Hi Margaret,

This is the reply I received today about running SAS 4.56 & if its
definitions updates will stay up to date.

Hi,

If you use the link for the old Pro 4.56 interface, will SAS still update
new / latest definitions without updating the interface etc.? Thanks much,
take
care.
Mike

SUPERAntiSpyware.com Replied:

Hi there,

Yes that is true. Definition updates are independent of product updates. You
can stay completely up-to-date with definitions while still using version
4.56.

Customer Service

I'm so happy to hear that other JAWS users are having trouble with the new
Pro Super Anti-Spyware! It installed the new version several days ago when
I checked for updates after it hadn't done the usual daily scan for a couple
days. I was finally able to schedule a daily scan for my preferred time,
but I couldn't tell it to let me do manual complete scans when I wanted and
not to do them automatically. The closest I could come was to let it do
them one day a week.

Does anyone know if with version 5 (Pro) for the item to quarantine and
remove items does it remove them or put them in the quarantine vault so one
can double check them before removing them?

I was able to get the new Pro version to work with JAWS 10, but it was a
bit easier with 12.

If you use the link for the old interface, will SAS still update new
definitions etc.?

  Thanks,

  Margaret

  Hi David,

The SAS 5.0 version is somewhat accessible, as we have both found out, but
only if you are running Jaws11 or 12. It is not accessible with any
earlier
versions. Also, we have both learned that about the only part that is
accessible is configuring scanning & programming schedules, but even doing
these tasks' takes a lot of work using both the Jaws & PC cursors & left,
  right, up, & down arrowing.
Hopefully they will make the rest of the Interface accessible
as well.

Take care.
Mike

I have been able to manage the latest version without too much of a

curve, maybe I should look again just to make sure.

I appreciate this information, but unfortunately it's just another
example of what the future may hold for accessibility. Each time I get a
message like this I get more and more discouraged.
