Re: [Blind-Computing] outlook express

2012-05-23 Thread Mike B.
Hi Anna,

You need to widen your columns in the view menu. To do this, do the
following;

1. While in Outlook Express, press, Alt + V, for the view menu.
2. Arrow down to " Columns " and press enter or just press the letter " C ".
3. Arrow down to " Subject " and with " Subject " highlighted press the
keystroke alt + W. You will get a message stating how many pixels wide your
subject line is currently set for. Back space this number out and type 400
or 425. I currently have mine set at 430. This will widen your subject
line so more text will fit. After you type in your desired number of
pixels tab to okay and press enter. Also, you can press the alt + W
keystroke with any of these columns when they are highlighted to widen them.
Hope
this helps. Take care.
Mike

Once again it amazes me to say the following: I opened up the keyboard
manager and went to reassign the key stroke. I used the exact same keystroke
that we all know, saved it and now it works in outlook 2003. Interestingly
enough even better than it does in express. I'm thinking there must be
gremlins in the script compiler.

The reason I say that is as follows: The first being I'm using the same key
command only in my own key map file in the ENU directory. Secondly in
express I'm having trouble making the thing land in the message body but
other than that it works in express, but in outlook it works as advertised
placing me right in the message body waiting for me to type whatever message
I choose to create.

Well,

I figured out what I was doing wrong. Trying to do in window's 7 what I use
to do in XP as far as attachment to emails go, so no wonder it didn't work
as well.

So in testing this, I didn't shift tab, instead I tab across and found a
long drop down list and one being Trish and right arrowed to open, then
behold like magic was all of the folders. So just went to the folder I
wanted then tab again to a list of it's contents and selected it, then tab
to open button and wa la it attached and works much easier this way..

Using Windows 7, Jaws 13 and Outlook 2010.

The script for replying directly to sender while on an e-mail list isn't
working at all.

1.Has the script been abandoned?

2. If not, what is the current key combination?

3. Does the fact that some of us are using different e-mail clients
effect the functionality of this particular script?

[Blind-Computing] //Attachments in WM

2012-05-23 Thread Trish
I need to know what to do when I want to attach something to an email and
the default location is my documents, but if the item resides in a different
folder, then how do I find it to attach it?

Usually I have to move it to the my documents folder as I'm going through
the menus to attach something, if I shift tab upon evoking the Alt I, my
documents is listed along with few other folders, but not the one I want.
The folder is a new folder created in my "Trish" main folder, but it never
shows up in this list to find items I wish to attach to the email.

I don't seem to have much luck with the browse feature in this instance, can
anyone help with this query?

Thanks,

Trish

doesn't work, if memory serves it has been broken for a few years already. I
think it is time to take a look at the script files myself, who knows maybe
I can break them further.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Customer Service Advice Needed

2012-05-23 Thread John Justice
This happens to be exactly what I've been doing for twenty years. I'll
make this brief so we won't bore the rest of the group. If you need more
detailed information, my personal e-mail is below every message.
We have found, through experimentation, that the best way to use a talking
computer and hear the customer at the same time is to employ a dual headset.
One side is used to receive customer calls while the opposite headphone
receives information from Jaws relating to navigating the screens.
If you use an open speaker for Jaws, the customer becomes confused or
over-interested in what he or she is hearing. Conversely, when a dual
headset is used, the only person who hears Jaws is you, the operator.

You will hear;

As far as insert, shift r, keyboard help only says r so there is nothing
