[Blind-Computing] Pictures not found when forwarding in WLM

2013-01-16 Thread Sharon Gosling
Often when I go to forward email containing images in WLM 2011 it will say the
pictures in the email could not be found and do I want to send it anyway.
Since I am forwarding to sighted friends and family I say no. Why aren’t the
pictures being found? I have gone through all the settings I am aware of and
can’t find where to choose to have images downloaded.
Even though I can’t see them I hate it when people forward email without the
pictures as Jaws keeps reading the words similar to Pictures deleted by sender.
And it does this for each picture that is not there.
So how can I set WLM 2011 so that the pictures are there and can be forwarded?
Thanks in advance,
Sherrie Gosling

[Blind-Computing] Bluetooth query

2013-01-16 Thread Waqas Chauhdry
Greetings

I wonder if anyone can recommend a Bluetooth adapter for my HP work station
that would transmit Jaws and Skype voice calls through my Bluetooth headset?
I can achieve this on my laptop with built-in Bluetooth and would like the
same for my work station if possible.

Very Best Regards

Waqas

Hi Ken,
You didn't say what version of Adobe you are using, but what you need to
do

is turn off protected mode.
Look in the preferences, under, "GENERAL", or "Security Enhanced".

Hi all,

I am trying to open a .pdf file that was sent to me, but every time I try
to

open it with Adobe, it says there is a "protection error" and I can't get
the darn thing to open.

Any suggestions on what I need to do to get past the error and open the
stupid thing?

Thanks,

Re: [Blind-Computing] Mirror Driver Issue when Installing JAWS

2013-01-16 Thread Joshua Klander
Hello. Have you tried completely uninstalling Jaws from your
computer, and then re-installing it? If you haven't done that,
you may want to try it.
Note: When uninstalling jaws, it will ask you if you want to
remove shared components at some point. If you are not using any
other freedom scientific products, then try removing the shared
components as well.

Let me know if this works.

JAWS

Hi
On the work computer, I am having a problem when installing
JAWS.
JAWS insists that the mirror driver is not properly installed and
that
I need to reboot the computer, or run the repair on JAWS. I have
done
both, and still get the same message. What should I do next? I
am

running the latist version of JAWS on a Windows 7 machine.
Thank you in advance.

[Blind-Computing] Installing updates

2013-01-16 Thread inthaneelf
this is done by selecting the "alert me to updates..." option, then when you
open windows update you can tab across to a set of links, one is for
priority updates, the other is for optional updates, if you enter on one of
these links you will get a checklist of the update files available to you.

I am using W7, Outlook 2010 and latest jaws and I know how to install
latest microsoft updates but how can I know what updates that I am
installing? Before installing, I go to control panel to latest updates
but I can't find what updates I am installing. I would like to see the
updates so I know if I want to install or not. I would appreciate it if
someone could give me info on this.

Thanks much,

Hi Fred & Gerry,

Fred, to look at what updates are available, for example optional updates,
tab to the optional link & press the spacebar or enter to open the optional

updates link & you'll be able to see what updates are abailable. For
important updates, tab to the Important updates link & open it to see what's

available. In optional updates you have to check the updates you want
installed whereas in important updates, they are all checked & you need to
uncheck the ones you don't want to install. I'm writing this from memory,
boy are you in trouble LOL LOL, because I don't have any new updates at the
moment. Also, there is an installed updates option that you can click on to

see what updates have been installed.

Gerry, you might want to email the owner of the lists' you're having
problems with & make sure you're still subscribed or to see if there are
problems with others using the same internet provider as yourself.

Hope this helped.
Take care.
Mike

[Blind-Computing] Floating Calendars on Webpages

2013-01-16 Thread Mujtaba Merchant
Hello,

I would like to seek assistance in solving this accessibility issue I am
facing on a regular basis. Using JAWS 13 on a Windows XP machine with
Internet Explorer as my browser. There are some pages that require me to
choose a start date and end date from a calendar on some webpages. These
calendars are not particularly accessible as they are floating calendars,
they are invoked by hovering the mouse over a calendar icon on the page. The
user then clicks on the date post which the entry is recorded in a edit box
which otherwise is not editable.

I have attempted several ways to resolve this situation but failed and ended
up asking a sighted person to choose the date for me from this monsterous
calendar. It has also come to my attention that the calendar allows you to
change the month and year from a combo box, again mouse driven totally! I
can't get to the combo box by using the quick navigation key C nor can I get
to the calendar using the JAWS cursor.

The page in question is on an internal tool designed by Oracle corp. for our
company. Therefore I can't even share the URL with you all. But if anyone of
you have faced this kind of calendar at work or in any other situation on a
webpage, can you please share your experience in tackling it? The best thing
to do according to me is use sighted assistance or write to Oracle Corp.
about it, may not yield immediate results but it's worth the try. The piece
of work assigned to me highly depends on this function and this is the only
factor that keeps me away from accomplishing it independently.

Any thoughts or insights would be highly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Mujtaba Merchant
