uninstall the Winamp detector plug in

it should be a seperate listing, or if not then remove and reinstall using
the custom install selection so you have more control over what is
happening.

and that window is asking you if this is a media device that it is to
monitor if not just alt f4 it

Lately, when I try to use a flash drive in my computer, this portable media

this thing; I'm using jaws 14 and windows 7; thanks,

Re: [Blind-Computing] can't download bard books

2013-05-15 Thread Cliff Smales

Tom:

The procedure isn't as fully automatic as it sounds.

After entering, to acknowledge your desire to download, you nedd to tab,
twice more, to where it will ask in which folder you wish to download to.

If this matter is decided, all you need do is hit enter, and your book is on
it's way.

I can no longer download any audio book from bard. I get to the where it
asks to download the book, I hit enter, but nothing happens, so the download
doesn’t occur. I use jaws 14, win 7, i.e. 8

Re: [Blind-Computing] How to find internet explorer information bar

2013-05-15 Thread Bob W
Hi Marilyn,
I would have sworn there's a keystroke to get to the information bar, but I
looked through the jaws help but came up with nothing.

You may have to turn your jaws cursor on with the minus key. Then do a ctrl
home to get to the top of the page and start arrowing down passed the page
title, menus, until you hear something about information bar, or activex.
Press your right mouse key (slash key on your calculator keyboard). This
should give you some options to deal with the activex problem.

If you don't find the information bar/activex stuff I talked about earlier,
press your pc cursor key, then turn your virtual cursor mode off with
insert+z and then try the steps in the above paragraph again.

Before resuming, don't forget to turn virtual cursor mode back on with
insert+z.

Hope this helps..

Hi,
JAWS 12 works well with IE 9. As for the other two programs, I'm not
sure since I have never used them.

[Blind-Computing] Chirp Software

2013-05-15 Thread Bob J.
Chirp software is used to program many makes and models of amateur radio
transceivers and reportedly works very well for sighted computer users.

I have downloaded that software and installed it on my Windows XP machine where
I am also running JFW v10.

I have found the Chirp software to be barely accessible on my XP machine with
this version of JFW and I am wondering if anyone out there is using the Chirp
software with some measure of success. If so, please share your details for
success!
