[Blind-Computing] Question About USB Ports
Hello all. My friend is using Jaws twelve and Windows 7. She recently purchased a USB sound card 7.1 pro made by SIIG. Incidentally, this sound card came with software which she did not install because she simply wants to use this in order to separate Jaws from the output to her speakers. After then plugging a headset in to the headphone jack on the external sound card, she went to the Jaws window and then to the sound card submenu and checked the new sound card but Jaws continues to come out of her speakers rather than her headset. Since it didn't work, she unplugged the sound card from her computer and received a message that said something about her USB port not being strong enough for the device. (Sorry, I don't recall the actual wording.) My questions are these, could it be that this new sound card was designed for USB 3.0 and if so, can she purchase a USB 3.0 port and use it in her Windows 7 machine? Any help would be appreciated. Re: [Blind-Computing] Total Recorder-related questions
Hi Susan. Here is how I determine the URL of a stream using Winamp. With Winamp in focus, press alt+3 and Jaws should say "stream info read only edit." Route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor and arrow up to find the URL. Now route the PC cursor to the Jaws cursor and use the home key to locate the beginning of the URL. Now, you should be able to highlight it and copy to the clipboard so you can paste it in to Total Recorder when using the TR scheduler. Re: [Blind-Computing] unable to click on links in e mails in OE sinceupgrading to IE 7
Hi Miktch. With Outlook Express in focus, do the following. Press control+shift+o to get to options. Then press control+tab. Now tab to where it says "read all messages in plain text" and if the box is checked, uncheck it then press enter on OK and that might bring the links back.
