Just read a podcast on mctwit. Sure sounds great!!
Only problem with these sites - three guesses, the first two don't
count:::

Both facebook and twitter have captchas!!
Bottom line: totally inaccessible to me. What use is mctwit or anything
else if I can't even create an account?

You need to install Mozilla's browser (FireFox).
  www.mozilla.com
Then go to www.webvisum and install this Add On.
Simple as this, webvisum will read the capcha for you.
Then you can sign up and either ditch FireFox and go back to IE, or keep
using FireFox. Completely up to you.

Hi,
Yes the need to actually learn a browser in this case is truly a myth.
The only real difference you'll see is that you use control L to open a
location in stead of Control plus O in IE.
But once you get used to it, the Control plus L keystroke works in IE as
well.
The page loads with Firefox and Jaws are much faster too.

You can't have it both ways. Webvisum only works with Firefox, so if you
want the ability to solve image captias without sighted help, this is the
only way to go. Firefox is not drastically different from IE, so you can
use it right away withot having to learn a lot of new keystrokes. I use
IE

as my default browser, but rely on Firefox with Webvisum whenever I

You need to install Mozilla's browser (FireFox).
 www.mozilla.com
Then go to www.webvisum and install this Add On.
Simple as this, webvisum will read the capcha for you.
Then you can sign up and either ditch FireFox and go back to IE, or keep
using FireFox. Completely up to you.

2009-05-10 Thread Andrés felipe Pulgarín
Hello.
Now the captchas are not a problem for us. the best tool that is
helping us to solve this problem, is called Web visum. I know that
many of those who are in this list, are users of this great tool.
this add-on for firefox is helping many blind persons around the
world, and I say that the creator of Web visum is now living in the
paradise. I mean that this person who I don't know his or her name,
is making an excelent thing for the blind comunitty.
now we don't have to suffer if we want to register in a forum, a
social network, a site to upload torrents etc. if the site requires
captcha, then we can sighn up without the help of human eyes.
I'm writing these words because someone start talking about the
problem with the captchas, so I just want to make this parenthesis.

Its not much different in IE really.
FireFox's webvisum is the only way to do a capcha with out sited help.
Also, you only need to register using firefox, not use firefox from then on.

You can't have it both ways. Webvisum only works with Firefox, so if you
want the ability to solve image captias without sighted help, this is the
only way to go. Firefox is not drastically different from IE, so you can
use it right away withot having to learn a lot of new keystrokes. I use IE

2009-05-10 Thread Jon C. Pierson
Hi,
Yes the need to actually learn a browser in this case is truly a myth.
The only real difference you'll see is that you use control L to open a
location in stead of Control plus O in IE.
But once you get used to it, the Control plus L keystroke works in IE as
well.
The page loads with Firefox and Jaws are much faster too.

You do know there are ways to do the capcha with out sited help?
I know we shouldn't have to rely on 3rd party software to help us, it
should be the companies responcibility to see that there own security
   and
code is correctly coded and accessible in all situations.

However, some don't make it there responcibility...

So luckily we have these 3rd party coders on our side.

Just read a podcast on mctwit. Sure sounds great!!
Only problem with these sites - three guesses, the first two don't
 count:::
Both facebook and twitter have captchas!!
Bottom line: totally inaccessible to me. What use is mctwit or
   anything
else if I can't even create an account?

  Hi,
Yes the need to actually learn a browser in this case is truly a myth.
The only real difference you'll see is that you use control L to open a
location in stead of Control plus O in IE.
But once you get used to it, the Control plus L keystroke works in IE as
  well.
The page loads with Firefox and Jaws are much faster too.

  Jon

You can't have it both ways. Webvisum only works with Firefox, so if you
want the ability to solve image captias without sighted help, this is the
only way to go. Firefox is not drastically different from IE, so you can
use it right away withot having to learn a lot of new keystrokes. I use IE
as my default browser, but rely on Firefox with Webvisum whenever I
encounter one of those nasty captias. And don't count on FS to include an
image captia feature in JAWS anytime soon.

Well, I'm an I.E. user, and don't need the aggravation and learning
   curve of another browser!!
