Re: [Blind-Computing] Pearl Camera
I am generally quite happy. As I have written on this list before, my main strong point is that I can use it in classes in an easier manner. As I have also wrote, I am still trying to figure out how to get rid of junk left over when a graphic/picture is present. If you are going to use this with a laptop, I would strongly suggest that you have a faster processor than my netbook. It still scans quite fast, but the delay is in the processing of the pages if you have used one of the multiple page options. I also have found that when in the aacquire and read option, my netbook stumbles as these pages are being processed. Luckily, I have a larger laptop with a faster processor. This works very well without the above mentioned problems. -Original Message- From: blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Alan Robbins Sent: Friday, October 22, 2010 9:54 AM To: Blind-Computing Subject: [Blind-Computing] Pearl Camera Just wondering if anyone on this list has the Pearl Camera from FS and how it is working out for you? Could someone with a Pearl try it if you have other OCR SOFTWARE like Abbyy FineReader or Omnipage as personally I think the Pearl is designed only to work with Open book 9.
