Hi Jim, You must be running Windows 2000? Since there is no SP4 for XP. In Windows XP, the Sapi voices show up in control panel under, " Speech ". Windows XP shipped with Sapi 5, and Windows 2000 shipped with Sapi 4. hi everyone and Milos Przic, download this: http://filekeeper.org/download/zakirilie/dolbozavriki/fixsapy.7z and start. click the check registry button. if this utility find a problemm, you can repair this. if not, reinstall sapi5. if not so, reinstall you windows. ps. if you use windows 7, this software does not work. --- good luck Milos Przic (milos.pr...@gmail.com). with greetings for you and all, alex, russia, moscow. http://airosunrise.listen.moeradio.ru:1/airosunrise.m3u volnov...@yandex.ru twitter: dolbozavr , skype- energi15 For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [Blind-Computing] Sapi 5 problems
Milos, u didn't provide nearly enough information. Specifically, we need your operating system, service pack number, amount of ram, Jaws version number, etc. Also, please include the *exact* error message you're getting. U can do this by virtualizing the window & copying the message--control JawsKey w in jaws versions 10 & earlier, alt JawsKey w in versions 11 & above. Thanks. I suspect that some programs you've got installed or have had in the past have left entries in your registry that need to be deleted, but, until I see an error message, I'm not sure. There is a repair tool that u can get from: http://www.gwmicro.com/Support/Downloads/?fileNo=1008 but basically all it does is delete the dictionary. If a corrupted dictionary isn't the problem, it won't solve it. But b4 we go playing around in the registry, let's try it. Re: [Blind-Computing] SAPI 4 question
You need to sort of tell them to use a different synth, and I don't always go for it since it does sometimes seem to make them a bit less stable - my 2c worth anyway. Anyway, in NVDA, on the preferences menu, I think you first need to choose the synthesizers item and make changes there, and in jaws I think it's to do with the options, voices, voice adjustment, where you save a profile as a new one and then make changes to it, including synthesizer. [Blind-Computing] Sapi Voices
I am currently using JAWS 9. I don't have any Sapi voices to choose from in JAWS 9, but I do in JAWS 7. Is there a way that I can get the voices from JAWS 7 and put them into JAWS 9? Earlier I sent this question to JAWS-Users list, and since I sent it I have checked and I do not have any Sapi voices in JAWS 9 or 10. Again, I do have them in 7. [Blind-Computing] SAPI 5 or 4 alternative engines
Hello all, As you all probably already know, I'm using now System Access. Now I'd like to know where I can find other SAPI 4 or 5 engines. DECTalk isn't as snappy as good faithful Elequence. It feels like forever going through email when DECTalk pauses through sentences etc. Your bro in Christ, Lino Morales and Louie Lab Email and Windows Live Messenger: lino.mora...@lljfm.net Skype lino_and_louie Twitter: www.twitter.com/lino_and_louie For Blind Christian Men, visit: http://morales-family.lljfm.net/mailman/listinfo/blindmen4christ_morales-family to subscribe to Blind Men For Christ. Hi Nimer, If you are running Windows XP, try Narrator to see if it works. If Narrator will not speak to you, then you will have to repair Windows, or re-install it. HTH, Richard Q.
