[Blind-Computing] SAPI 5 compatible voices

2012-04-24 Thread Øyvind Lode - Forums
Hi list:

I'm looking for a good SAPI 5 compatible voice/tts.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and I only have Anna which is default SAPI 5 voice
on Win 7.
I don't like Anna but she's better than Sam smile

I have some RealSpeak Solo voices installed but they seem to only work with
JAWS.

I want to use the voice with audio games and with JAWS if possible.
So it really needs to be SAPI 5 compatible.

Any suggestions for a good English voice?
I'm also looking for a better Norwegian voice but that's currently not a high
priority.

Thanks!

[Blind-Computing] Sapi 5 problems

2010-11-21 Thread Milos Przic
   Hi all,
I am having a problem with all the sapi voices. They work with jaws fine,
but when I want to use another program with any of them I get the message that
something is wrong with the voices. I tried reinstalling the mike and Mary
engine from the Jim Kitchen's site, but it didn't work. Can someone recommend
me what repair tool to download, or what voice to install to rapir this program
corruption?
Thanks to all in advance, and best regards!

Re: [Blind-Computing] Sapi 5 problems

2010-11-21 Thread Jackie McBride
Milos, u didn't provide nearly enough information. Specifically, we
need your operating system, service pack number, amount of ram, Jaws
version number, etc. Also, please include the *exact* error message
you're getting. U can do this by virtualizing the window copying the
message--control JawsKey w in jaws versions 10 earlier, alt JawsKey
w in versions 11 above.

Thanks. I suspect that some programs you've got installed or have had
in the past have left entries in your registry that need to be
deleted, but, until I see an error message, I'm not sure.

There is a repair tool that u can get from:
http://www.gwmicro.com/Support/Downloads/?fileNo=1008
but basically all it does is delete the dictionary. If a corrupted
dictionary isn't the problem, it won't solve it. But b4 we go playing
around in the registry, let's try it.

Not sure, but I think apart from on blind-computings webpage, you can find a
fix/installation quite easily on:

http://www.kitchensinc.net/

Go to the page for free windows SAPI 5 TTS games.

Stay well

John. A version of sapi 5 is with your Jaws 9 package. It's separate from
the other disk. I believe that you can load it separately without worrying
about Jaws itself.
