Click on your printer name, to open it; find the print job you want to

Dear Friends,
I had my computer jam, a paper stuck, after I cleared it, the computer
kept

giving me a message that a file did not print, and to go to somewhere, I
cannot catch the message, as it only flashes for half a second.
I am using Windows XP-Home, JAWS 11, and need to delete this file from the
computer's memory.
Can some kind person tell me where to go, and how to get there!
LOL!
That sounds funny!
Anyway, the computer will not print another page till I clear this file
out

of it's path.
I imagine it is in the Printer Options, but I do not know how to get
there!

Thanks for any assistance.

2. If you don't like to do it from the edit menu, Press control+k in the

Then, press yes to continue after the worning.
 Then, press OK.
 4. Close adobe reader and start it again.

[Blind-Computing] Thanks David - was: Re: How to rip mp3's to computer using Mediaplayer 11

2011-04-15 Thread DoubleLegal

David,

Thank you very much. These seem like very simple steps for ripping a CD. I
had no clue on how to rip a CD and I couldn't find any information under the
help tab.

Now I can get busy. I have a lot of music ... and so little time ... well
ok, I have a lot of time since I have no life!

Again, thanks.

okay, give these steps a whirl for ripping;
I should also indicate, these steps assume your using windows media player
as your default,

1, insert a cd which you wish to rip;

2, wait a few seconds, then you should hear some music from windows media
player.
press ctrl+s=stop,
now, shift+tab 8 times, you should land on the rip button, you can press
enter.
note, the 7th shift+tab will land you on, the rip menu,
you can change options there if you wish.
so once you enter on the rip button,
a list of song will come up, if you want the whole cd ripped, then tab to
rip button,
if you only want certain tunes, then uncheck the ones you don't want
ripped,

then again, tab and enter on rip button.

Hi everyone,

I just upgraded to Windows Media Player 11. For the life of me I can't
figure out how to rip MP3's from a CD to my computer.

I'm sure this question has been answered on this list many times, but if
someone could answer it one more time I would be very grateful. Can anyone
give me the steps for this process?

I use Media Player 11, XP Pro and JAWS 8.

Thanks,

Ken

okay here goes open windows media player 11 and tab until you get to rip
to media player not tab one more time and you will see a rip menu enter on
this and use your up and down arrows and check all that applies now close
windows media player and then put the cd in the computer if it does not
give you a choice as to what to do then open windows media player open it
up. now tab until you hit the rip tab and hit enter on it.

Hi everyone,

I just upgraded to Windows Media Player 11. For the life of me I can't
figure out how to rip MP3's from a CD to my computer.

I'm sure this question has been answered on this list many times, but if
someone could answer it one more time I would be very grateful. Can
anyone give me the steps for this process?

I use Media Player 11, XP Pro and JAWS 8.

Thanks,

Ken

Cool.

Will also just say that generally it's a good idea to look things up on

Here's a link to the wikipedia article on bitrate:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitrate

Aside from that, in terms of audio files, in general, the bitrate is
referred to in kbps = kilo bits per second - as in each second of the
audio

track would include something like 192 kilo bits, and since each byte is 8
bits, that means 192 kilobits = 24 kilobytes per second, and since a
megabyte is 1024 kilo bytes, that means that if an audio track is 100
seconds long (to just use an easy number to work with) it would have a
size

of 2400 kilo bytes, which then translates to 2.34 megabytes.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Bit Rate

Dear Friends,
Recently, I burned 2 dvs movies to CD for a friend.
One was 420 MB and the other was 130 MB in size.
They asked me why one movie was so much larger in size than the other.
Well, I had converted one movie from .ogg format to mp3 format, and forgot
to change the Bit from 320 to perhaps 128 with my "Switch" converter.
The other smaller size movie was already in mp3 format, so that one I did
not have to convert to mp3 as my friend cannot open and play .ogg files in
their Windows Media Player, they do not have the "Plug-in" I have.
Now, sorry to be so long about this question, but I had a hard time
explaining the difference in a audio file with a bit rate of 320 as
opposed to a smaller size bit rate.
I know when uploading or downloading I get a message stating I am
uploading at a bit rate of for example 50.5 KB/sec, and I download at
around 750 KB/sec, but how does one state the Bit Rate of an "Audio
file"?

I mean, it is not KB/sec as when you are uploading or downloading.

I do not know what or how you would call the Bit rate of an "Audible
File", does some one have a clear explanation that I can understand?

I would very much appreciate it!

the pass through key command, is insert+ number 3 on the number row, not
on the numpad. this command is used to pass the key commands to those
applications whose shortcut keys may confict with the standard JAWS key
shortcuts.
A typical example in this case maybe that of the key shortcuts used in
the standard version of gmail, wherein you press letter 'O' to open a
mail, 'J' to go to previous mail & 'k' to go to the newer
conversation/mail.
all these keys need to be pressed after pressing the pass through key
combination: insert+3.

thank you,

If you burned the MP3 files to an audio CD the tag information such as
title is lost. You can easily ripthe songs from the audio CD back to a
MP3 file. Give it a try, perhaps the ripping software has gotten smarter
and can recognize the individual songs. Software that rips songs from a
CD uses a bunch of information from an entire commercial CD to recognize
the CD. It looks this information, like the length of each song, to match
it to known CDs in a datavase on the Internet. The database then can
provide the tag information for each song. If the songs on the CD you
burnt were a mix from several commercial CDs, it is probably impossible.

There is just so much stuff in the world that, to me, is devoid of any
real substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am
working on things that matter.

Hi all,

I found some CD's packed away that I made a few years back. I did it by
pulling different MP3's from my computer and then burning them to the
CD's. I'd like to get these songs back on my computer because I kind of
lost them via a hard drive crash. The MP3 files had all the information,
Artist, album, title, etc. included in each file.

My question ... Is there a way of going about ripping these CD's to my
computer now that will show all of that information?

My understanding is that you'll have to use iTunes to get your music on
the

iPhone.
Install iTunes and import your mp3's into the library.
Connect the iPhone to the computer and from within iTunes select to sync
music to the phone.

I don't own a iPhone my self and I don't use iTunes but this is what I've
picked up.
It's probably a good idea to join the iPhone google group.

Patricia, I am such an ignoramus about all of this that I have to laugh when
you ask me things. All I know is that someone wrote me off list and said I
didn't need to unzip with a program nor did I need to high light a book in
order to proceed to put it into the cartridge. I tried that and somehow it
worked. marilyn

I sent it on its way to the cartridge. Somehow, It unzipped itself, I

Ken,

Don't have all the notes on hand but check back a month or
two in the archives because I know this topic was discussed
extensively. Some folks have had no problems and some many.
I do know Avast offers a special removal tool but it does
require some sighted assistance because you do need to
reboot into safe mode. I was able to remove from all 3 of my
machines without the tool. Keep us posted

Hello everyone,

My ISP provides McAfee Internet Security Suite for free with my

free versions of Zone Alarm for my firewall and Avast for my anti virus.
My questions are how accessible is McAfee Internet Security Suite?

Is it a good protection program and is it easy to use with JAWS.

I'm just wondering if I should start using it or stay with the other two
for protecting my computer online.

Any opinions will be very helpful.

Hi Ken,
Press enter on Avast in the system tray, and hit enter on the stop
on-access protection option.

You will get a dialogue warning you, just spacebar the yes button.
When you are finished, just go back to the system tray, and press enter on

[Blind-Computing] Thanks for the suggestions

2009-01-08 Thread Sherrie
I want to thank all who sent suggestions for assistive technology for me to
pass along to my friend. I have forwarded them all to her as well as my own
request that Norton be made screen reader usable since I have two years left on
my subscription and trust it. But I did not re-install it after my computer
crash last November since I only had minimal use of it with Hot Spot Clicker
and I would have had to start all over again with that. If anyone has or knows
of any scripts for Norton I would love to know about it.

Re: [Blind-Computing] (Thanks David, I think it's working now) adjusting tracks when burning CD's using WMP10

2008-01-31 Thread DoubleLegal
Thank you for these tips David. I went in and entered on arrange icons by
name.

This may have done the trick. At least so far, every time I copy tracks into
the CD drive, they are in order. I'll keep checking each time. If it gets
out of order again . . . I'll be back.

Thanks again.
