Hi Mike,
Have you viewed this before during a scheduled scan, or during a manual
scan?
Not sure why there would be a difference, just a thought.

Hi All,

Lately when running a scheduled scan with MSSE, in the system tray, it shows
PC protected instead of, scanning. It used to show scanning whenever a scan
was in progress. Is this happening to others? If not, how can I get
scanning to show in the system tray when a scan is in progress? Running XP,
IE8, OE, J13. All advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, take
care.

Hi Rick,

This only happens during a scheduled scan. I just tried a manual scan ,
scanning., shows up in the system tray. I wonder why, scanning,
doesn't show during a scheduled scan?! It definitely used to do that!
Take care.

Mike. Why wouldn't pressing left arrow once work rather than pressing right

I also see that you are correct in one not needing to use the jaws cursor to

read the About dialogue, but either way its just as easy to read such
details.

Mike. Why wouldn't pressing left arrow once work rather than pressing right
arrow 5 times?
I also see that you are correct in one not needing to use the jaws cursor to

read the About dialogue, but either way its just as easy to read such
details.

Hi Marilyn;

Do as Andre says except, after you tab to the home button, right arrow
instead of left arrow to Additional Help Options, press enter, arrow down
to About Security Essentials, press enter, press control + Home to take the
cursor to the top of the page , arrow down 1 line at time, after arrowing
down 1 time you should hear Jaws read 2.0.657.0 . Hope this helps. Take

To confirm installation of MSE2.0 launch MSE.
Tab till you come across the Home button
Left arrow to Additional help options and press enter.
Up arrow once to About Security Essentials and press enter.
Use jaws cursor to read the whole screen.
There should be a reference to you running version 2.0.

Hi All;

I found a fix for my problem with my brother's computer in the article
below. My brother's problem was his computer had the wrong date time.

This is a fairly un-common Windows Update error and hopefully this article
will help you resolve the problems you are having.

The 0x80072f8f error code typically occurs because of a time issue.

What causes Error 0x80072f8f

# The date / time on your computer is too different from the date / time
of

the
SSL
(Secure Sockets Layer) certificates used by the Windows Update site..

Resolution Suggestion One:

# Check you have the correct time and date and time zone:

1. Double click the clock in the bottom right hand corner.
2. Check you have the correct time and date.
3. Click the Time Zone Tab.
4. Check you have the correct time zone.

---

Resolution Suggestion Two:

# Re-register these important files and check IE settings:

1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type: regsvr32 Mssip32.dll
4. Click OK.
5. Repeat this time typing: regsvr32 Initpki.dll

...now

6. Open
Internet Explorer

7. Select the Tools menu and then select Internet Options
8. Choose the Advance tab
9. Unselect 'check for
server
certificate revocation' reboot PC and test again!

I hope this helps others as well. Take care.

I've gotten this before too. If not ok by tomorrow, just
uninstall and reinstall and you should be good to go

Becky, when you see that computer is unprotected message in the s ystem
tray, do you click on it to see what it says? Go through the menu and make
sure real time protection is checked. MSE should alert you when your
system is unprotected. marilyn

Hi All.
Apparently MSSE wanted me to run a scan. I think I forgot to leave my
computer on overnight when it was scheduled to run a scan. I did and it is
happy again.

Thanks for your help.

Becky
