Mike,
Where did you assign the keystroke in the first place?
It had to be to a shortcut.

Hi all,

On my Windows7 Pro machine running J13 14, I have the shortcut keystroke,
control, shift, + N, assigned to Notepad. Well, this keystroke works just
fine in Notepad but, I can't find the keystroke in any of Notepad's
properties to change/ remove it! I've checked the properties of my Desktop
start menu shortcuts, All Programs / Accessories / Notepad. I just
can't find it anywhere! Where else should I look for this shortcut
keystroke?! All help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you all very much.
Take care.

Hi Rick,

Thank you very much for your reply. I assigned it to the start menu
shortcut but, as I stated, I checked the start menu desktop shortcut
properties it says, none, for the shortcut hot key edit field! Thanks
again, take care.

Hi Mike.
There use to be a free program called Hotkey Detective which would show
where all your hotkeys were. Maybe, if you can find it, that would help.

I now use AutoHotKey to assign keys, which works differently, and would
drive Hotkey Detective crazy.

Hope this helps.

Install a little utility called Hot Key Detective, which will list all the
hot keys on your computer. You can find it on the JAWS Users programs page.
If you have a hot key for Notepad, it should be listed. You can then focus
on it an tab to the change key button which will allow you to delete or
modify it.

Hi Bob, Gerald, Rick,

Okay, problem solved! I was running a program called Classic Shell but,
once I turned it off I was able to access the default Win7 start menu,
that is where the shortcut keystroke was assigned. In the Notepad
properties. I deleted it everything is good. Thanks again for all your
input.
Take care.
