That's odd, I seem to remember getting a newsletter from Fs telling about
the v/9.

Or maybe they're not selling as well as FS had expected, so they extended
the introductory price.

I talked with sales at FS on Tuesday this week, and The introductory

Which, I suppose, means it is a little behind schedule.

Re: [Blind-Computing] comparison of pearl and eye-pal

2010-07-08 Thread Patricia
This might be your solution. It was fast and the price plus the portability
might be your idea choice. The Pearl is no bigger than a desk lamp very
streamline would need to sit on top of a desk or other surface as for the
height extension of the device it's self. A flat bed scanner with a lid
needs a certain clearance to use as well anyways, but not portable as in
this device. If that didn't suit your needs, then go for the NFB reader for
your cell which does a pretty good job of scanning too, that doesn't get any
more portable..
You can get that, as well as color identifier, Mobil speaks on a phone for
$1200.

something with more speed.

scanning books with a flatbed works but takes forever.

I asked Eric bout that, he said xp still works and that's what he had on a
laptop there with the Pearl. It's totally portable really folds up nicely
and they give a very nice leather padded case to carry it in, it uses
elegance and Open Book 9. He said the upgrade from 8 to 9 would cost
without

an SMA $150. The SMA only applies to OB not Jaws.
But it uses the same kieys to scan as I use now. It makes that sound like
a

camera flash then reads it back rather quickly..
