Re: [BlindHandyMan] gloves

2010-05-11 Thread Ron Yearns
Interesting question. As someone else said what are we protecting them from?
I use the flimsy latex when staining, furniture stripping and installing
fiberglass insulation. Sometimes if digging a hole or similar repetitive
operations I may put on a pair of leather gloves. Lined if it is cool.
Sometimes I wear a pair of dry leather gloves when handling live electric
circuits. If it is just plain cold I like lined leather. But honestly I don't
wear gloves very often that is why my hands are beat to death from hammer hits
and knife cuts. Usually rinse my hands with rubbing alcohol after I wash with
soap and water so hardly ever get infections.

Problem points to weakening mother board or hard drive. If you can get it
to once again boot, I would suggest that you defrag and run disk check on
your hard drive.

Re: [BlindHandyMan] gloves

2010-05-11 Thread Betsy Whitney, Dolphin Press
Aloha Jennifer,
As someone else mentioned, it depends on what I'm
trying to protect myself from, but I did buy a
box of 100 non-latex gloves at my local drugstore
for things like dealing with messy stuff. I also
have some that are for using harsh chemicals. I
think the regular gloves from the drugstore were $7 for the box.

I'm also a fan of plastic bags for cleaning cat boxes and the like.
They give you plenty of room to stretch your fingers.

I have a funny little thing that is actually a
potholder that is worn only on the thumb. I like
it for protecting my thumb when using a hammer.

[BlindHandyMan] gloves

2010-05-11 Thread Brice Mijares
harbor freight, OSH, or any hardware store will have a good selection of
gloves. Personally I go to Harbor Freight due to there low prices. They
have gardening gloves, leather gloves, cotton gloves, and you can even buy
surgical gloves for a lack of a better term. I like to keep a pair of
flexible leather gloves around for barbecuing. Make it easy when flipping
stuff rapped in foil.

2010-05-11 Thread William Stephan
If I have to pick up dead or dying animals my cat has met, or dog turds, I
use a plastic bag over my hand. And, if it's below zero and windy outside I
might ware a pair of work gloves, but generally, I don't like having my
hands covered at all.
