[BlindHandyMan] has anyone been inside an xbox 360 and got it working?

2010-08-23 Thread Blake Hardin
Hey all, just wondering has anyone ever opened a xbox 360 and repaired
it successfully? If so was it hard to do and what was required?
Thanks.

Blake,

this is just a cautionary tale for you. I work in an I T department. We
have an XBox 360 in our lounge area. Most of the guys in this group have
degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, or mechanical
engineering. Everyone builds their own computers, hacks their TiVos, jail
breaks their IPhones. When the XBox went South, we packed it up and sent
it in for repairs.

[BlindHandyMan] ppl rebate program

2010-08-23 Thread Lenny McHugh
This helps a little. With the pp&l rebate and recycle program, I will be
receiving $85. They will send a $50 rebate for purchasing a energy star rated
refrigerator. They also have a program where the basement refrigerator will be
picked up and recycled. For this they will send a check for $35. The unit being
recycled must be in working order and between 10 and 30 cu ft.
I just have to put up with a refrigerator sitting in the middle of my basement
for two weeks. I can handle that for $35. Just can not get near my table saw or
drill press until after Sept 8.

[BlindHandyMan] Rain gutter run and drop

2010-08-23 Thread Tom Vos
Thanks for your input.

We have a 34 foot run, and we need to run the water all one way, because at
the back end of the garage there is no place to go with it.

The garage and house are about 3 feet apart, and run off from the garage
currently drops between them.

At the back, a downspout would have to cross the sidewalk leading to the
back door, or go across the back of the garage where there is an entry door.

>From one of your figures, if we could get a one inch drop over the 34 feet,
that should be enough to get us by.

Blessings,

Tom

Hey Blake, thanks for the good words about the handy man show's. No there are
no new shows. We did the last show, I think show 208 a couple of years ago.
You can only stream them as far as I know from

www.acbradio.org

go to on demand and look for the link for the blind handyman, and blind like me
shows.

Good luck.

You can also, instead of entering on the links, tab to them, then press your
applications key, which is the first key to the left of your right control
key, and arrow down to Save Target As...

Press enter on it, and a save as dialog box will pop up asking you where to
save the file.

If it has a dot MP3 extension, then you're ok. If it has anything other
than that, then you'll have to go into the archives to get them, and I'm not
familiar where ACB keeps their archives these days on their site.

Re: [BlindHandyMan] Rain gutter run and drop

2010-08-23 Thread Max Robinson
When we moved into this house there was a 40 foot run of gutter with a down
spout at each end. If the rain was any more than light it would overflow in
the middle. We cured it by putting in a down spout where it overflowed.
