Thanks to you all for the help.
There were only two screws holding it in they were all on one side. I
have now put them back with one on each side.
All appears to work except for that stupid Jaws activation.
for those using JFW remember any change you make with hardware can cause
needing re activation.
Max.

Hi Max,

Typically, there are usually four screws holding the drive in, less than
that and you risk unbalancing the drive.

Once you've unscrewed it, simply pull it out the front of the computer,
making sure you unplug the connections in the back.

Once unplugged and pulled out, just slide the other drive in, and plug it
in.

Once plugged it, align it with the front of the case, so it sits flush with
the case, then screw one of the screws in tightly, to hold it in place while
you screw in the other screws.

You will need to remove both side panels, if it's one of those models, or
remove the entire case to get at the screws.

After that, it should be a simple process of booting up the computer, and
following the found new hardware prompts.

If the drive came with it's own drivers, it might be a good idea to use the
drivers Windows has already on board, then install what ever drivers the
drive came with.

Also make sure to get any firmware updates from the manufacturer's website,
otherwise you may find it doesn't work properly.

Hope this helps.

You may have two screws on each side of the drive.
Disconnect the power cable, and the data cable.
You will want to keep track of which way they go in, so you can put them in
the new drive the same way.
The drive should slide out the front of the computer, and the new one will
slide in from the front.
Blessings,
Tom

  Hello all,
I am having a bit of a brain fade.
I wish to pull out my CD drive and put in a DVD one. I have put in a CD
drive before but I have forgotten to get the old one out.
I know to disconnect the cables, there is one screw in the side of the
CD drive that I can remove.
Is there any thing else holding that drive in? If I pull it out does it
come out the front or do I slide the drive towards the rear of the case?
I think it is an IDE drive.
  Thanks for any help here.
  Max.
