[BlueOnyx:08895] HTTPD load problem since yum update

2011-10-25 Thread Richard Morgan
Hi, hope someone can help...

We've got a BlueQuartz server which we've been meaning to upgrade to BX but not
had a chance. Since a update a few days ago the server load has been a bit
high with users commenting on slow page response times. Running 'service httpd
restart' will solve the problem for a few minutes but it returns.

The yum.log output is:

Oct 21 06:00:34 Updated: udev.i386 039-10.31.el4
Oct 21 06:00:34 Updated: httpd-suexec.i386 2.0.52-49.ent.centos4
Oct 21 06:00:38 Updated: httpd-manual.i386 2.0.52-49.ent.centos4
Oct 21 06:00:41 Updated: httpd.i386 2.0.52-49.ent.centos4
Oct 21 06:00:41 Updated: mod_ssl.i386 1:2.0.52-49.ent.centos4

Has anyone else seen this problem?

I will try and get up to BX ASAP, but it's not going to happen for about a
month - any help to keep this box alive would be appreciated.

Regards

Richard

[BlueOnyx:08896] Re: HTTPD load problem since yum update

2011-10-25 Thread Mike's List

Use top, vmstat, iostat, to see what's causing the high load, memory
usage, cpu usage, i/o usage, etc. Did a reboot requires after the yum
update?

[BlueOnyx:08898] 5108R phpMyAdmin problem

2011-10-25 Thread Colin Jack
I have just installed 5108R on an HP DL360 test machine to check compatibility
and all appears okay except that phpMyAdmin doesn't seem to load from within
the GUI.
I have tried both secure and insecure logins and both just show Connected to
ip ... and not a lot else ;(

Anybody else seeing this?

I recall seeing this on a new install. Setting the root password for MySQL in
the GUI admin fixed it for me

YMMV

Yes I'm seeing the same on a virtual machine under Oracle Vbox.
Otherwise the server is running fine.

[BlueOnyx:08905] Initial Setup Docs?

2011-10-25 Thread Rob Reale
Hello, I'm having a hard time finding any documentation... I can find a lot
of stuff on the mailing list archives but I'm wanting to do some basic setup
functions and if nothing else wanted to have a guide to confirm what I was
doing was right. Do we have docs like that?

[BlueOnyx:08907] New user can't log in

2011-10-25 Thread Mark E. Levy
I've just created a new website user on a nearly-new 5108R. I cannot log into
this user's account via several different FTP apps. The security log reports a
problem with the password, but I'm dead sure I've typed it correctly. The
username does not appear in the blocked user list.

Oct 25 15:38:35 web03 proftpd[2932]: localhost - USER etaent (Login failed):
Incorrect password.

I've deleted and re-created the user twice. What could be the problem?

Thanks,
Mark

Is Allow User(s) access to FTP ticked in the FTP services tab of the site?
Un-ticked only site admins are allowed access.
