[BlueOnyx:23190] Re: Easy Migrate Prep - Shop Packages

2019-09-10 Thread Greg Kuhnert
All software is licensed per server. If you did an “image”, software on the 2nd
server would not work. When/if it tried to communicate to newlineq, that would
de-activate the software on both servers.

When software is purchased, a second copy is discounted by 80% of the original
price for the second and subsequent copies. If your maintenance expiry date has
expired, you would need to purchase a new copy. If it has not expired, contact
me off-list and we can look at some options.

Weird. I'm not seeing anything similar in my logs. What version of
BlueOnyx is that: 5207R, 5208R or 5209R?

5208R. Found the cause. dfix decided there was too many dovecot
processes. Cron emails were misbehaving so I never got the alert saying
so.

No idea why it started with the update, but I've just nuked that bit of
dfix for now. Sometimes that script gets on my nerves lol.

[BlueOnyx:23188] Easy Migrate Prep - Shop Packages

2019-09-10 Thread Philip Hamer

Good morning.

I am going to start testing Easy Migrate soon to try and keep a
redundant backup of our 5209R VM.
We had some issues with our server again this week, a redundant box I
can switch to would help.

Starting to read through the guide:-

"Before you get started please use the GUI on both source and target
server and make sure that the target server has the same shop PKGs and
Web Applications installed that the source server has"

Would cloning our 5209R VM be acceptable for licensing for the shop
packages rather than buying them twice?
The cloned VM will be running 24/7 on ESXi (but not serving files ie not
on line to the internet), but being able to just change pFSense to point
to another box would dramatically reduce down time for me. So only one
server in use at a time.

Kind Regards
