following discussions from people who are having problems with the lists

Lots of people will complain then as their filters don't work anymore.
When I see lots of request, we can do so, but in fact, you're the first

For the rest, Charles is right, let's use the website@ mailing list.

Tom,

This is the steering discuss list. You may find it too long to read,
but perhaps it would be wise to point out that this is the Steering
Committee list, not a conversational mailing list (use discuss@ for
instance).

Thanks,

Charles.

May i suggest for the developers mailing list instead of just
[libreoffice] would it be an issue to change it to [developers-LO] or
something of that nature? Libreoffice only is a bit ambiguous IMHO.

technically not possible. :-) We use Mailman at lists.tdf/libo for
internal lists, and mlmmj for external lists. So the lists subdomain is
already taken. :)

have to relocate the global mailing lists. It's no problem to take the
subscriber lists to the new lists, it's just a question of which
subdomain fits for the relocated lists. :-)

I also think that using the sub-domains as you mentioned below is a good
idea as it makes it easier for users to remember the address.

Hi :)

I think my preference would be for the mailing lists to have
@global.libreoffice.org addresses but that is assuming it is fairly easy to
move
the list of subscribers.

The .org is best looking ending. People still seem most familiar with .com but
.org is highly prized and well regarded.
