Interesting. Amen is out here in California and gets himself in the media a
lot.

I'd be quite interested in what Ms. Casey has found.

As a matter of fact, I'm heading for the mountains of North Carolina myself
tomorrow morning... which means I'll be somewhat scarce around here for a
few days.

Don't know Amen. I work with one of the world experts on ADD/ADHD BJ Casey
(short for Betty Joe from the hills of North Carolina). She has been using DTI
in combination with fMRI to study people with ADD. One of the most interesting
things about her research is that there is modification of brain activation

What is this bogglement? How can you not understand this page of
"subsmissive [sic] obscurantism?" :-)

I think the thing on the page that scared me most is down at the bottom
where it says, "Next Page"...

This should scare you even more: I actually went to the next
page. Which is about the same length as page 1, and is more of the
same, though there are some diagrams at the bottom of page 2. (I
will let you decide for yourself if they are useful or not.)

Its all trucked in, 500kms from UlanBator, over a few months. Drinking
water is trucked in too, but for showering etc, they have a water bore.
It's an exploration camp, full of drillers and geologists, so they don't
need much water for cleaning :)

These stoves are made in Holland, and burn diesel (the bill for heating
diesel is 90K/month), the traditional ones use camel/horse/sheep dung,
as there is nothing else to burn for about 500kms. They keep us toasty
warm, the one in our ger (yurt is the Russian name) is usually on the
lowest setting otherwise we roast at night.

Electricity is diesel generators. It's a temporary camp, so everything
is mobile. Wind would be a good idea, it does get pretty windy here, but
not constantly so backup would be needed.

It used to be that people like the author of this web site had
cardboard boxes full of yellow pads with heavy pencil scrawlings all
over them. Sometimes, they pinned them up on the walls inside their
homes and used colored string to connect various parts. If you've

I have mixed feelings about the whole Wal-Mart thing, but in this case I
can see some merit. I am sick of paying for Banks expensive boardroom
lunches and wine cellars and executive perks. In this day and age
banking should be much more efficient, and maybe Wal-Mart will help that
happen. Of course, it could be awful too.
