I'm very sorry for your loss, William. Did you have him since he
was a pup?

We had him since he was four, a retired racing dog.

A friend has a rescue Greyhound; they're beautiful, affectionate
dogs.

They are indeed.

I know that sorrow. It's impossible to describe to those who've never
felt it, and worthless to try to explain to those who would trivialize
it. My condolences.

The chatroom is not going to be the same without Ed.
He actually had a sort of presence there.

All hail Ed!
May the doggie afterlife be filled with his favorite foods and
varmints to stalk.

Sorry to hear it. It's never an easy decision to make even when it
is clearly the right one.

Ed, our twelve year old greyhound, was euthanised today just before noon.
He hurt his leg on Friday which turned out to be a fracture which turned
out to be due to bone cancer. He'd been at the veterinary hospital since
Friday on painkillers while we waited to find out our options. When we got
the test results this morning we went out to see him again and then he got
the injection.

He will be cremated and we will scatter his ashes at one of his favourite
walks. He had a good life right up until the end and we'll miss him.

I'm very sorry to hear that.
