Weekly Chat Reminder

2011-02-02 Thread William T Goodall
The Brin-L weekly chat has been a list tradition for over twelve
years. Way back on 27 May, 1998, Marco Maisenhelder first set
up a chatroom for the list, and on the next day, he established
a weekly chat time. We've been through several servers, chat
technologies, and even casts of regulars over the years, but
the chat goes on... and we want more recruits!

Whether you're an active poster or a lurker, whether you've
been a member of the list from the beginning or just joined
today, we would really like for you to join us. We have less
politics, more Uplift talk, and more light-hearted discussion.
We're non-fattening and 100% environmentally friendly...
-(_() Though sometimes marshmallows do get thrown.

The Weekly Brin-L chat is scheduled for Wednesday 3 PM
Eastern/2 PM Central time in the US, or 7 PM Greenwich time.
There's usually somebody there to talk to for at least eight
hours after the start time. If no-one is there when you arrive
just wait around a while for the next person to show up!

If you want to attend, it's really easy now. All you have to
do is send your web browser to:

http://wtgab.demon.co.uk/brinl/chat/

..And you can connect directly from the NEW new web
interface on the NEW server!

Weekly Chat Reminder

2010-03-03 Thread William T Goodall

The Brin-L weekly chat has been a list tradition for over ten

All you have to
do is send your web browser to:

  http://wtgab.demon.co.uk/~brinl/mud/

..And you can connect directly from the NEW new web
interface!

Maybe I will get there tonight to remember you that Christmas
is the celebration of the birth of Christ :-P

Of course, we all know that it started that way, but it is
very much a secular holiday, too. And even we Christians
have to acknowledge that it is celebrated in December only
in order to co-opt the winter solstice celebrations of the
pagans.

That said, a very merry Christmas to you, Alberto, and to
William and the rest of the Brin-L crew, enjoy the blessings
of whatever you may or may not believe or celebrate at this
time of year.

Weekly Chat Reminder

2009-11-11 Thread William T Goodall

The Brin-L weekly chat has been a list tradition for over ten

All you have to
do is send your web browser to:

  http://wtgab.demon.co.uk/~brinl/mud/

..And you can connect directly from the NEW new web
interface!

I got my satellite DVR upgraded to HD just before we went to Prague
last week so now I'm watching Heroes, 24, Bones, Lost and others in HD
with Dolby Surround Sound. Very nice.

On the first leg of our journey (to Paris) we flew on an Embraer 190

Weekly Chat Reminder

2009-04-08 Thread William T Goodall

The Brin-L weekly chat has been a list tradition for over ten

All you have to
do is send your web browser to:

  http://wtgab.demon.co.uk/~brinl/mud/

..And you can connect directly from the NEW new web
interface!

Bill thanks for continuing this fine old tradition! Glad I removed most of the
politics to http://davidbrin.blogspot.com/

One thing. Were some of you formerly pre-readers of my works who used to work
with me, offering feedback on books? I think I have contacted many of you,
lately. But feel free to write to me at davidb...@sbcglobal.net and remind me
what you pre-read for me before.

I may have a couple more cool items!

Thrive all and long live Brin-L!
