Re: [Carbon-dev] GS load testing with loadUI

2010-12-14 Thread Nuwan Bandara
Hi Guys,

I configured a GS setup (LDAP to resolve related issues) to test GS-16 and
GS-17, However I could not reproduce the reported issues. These two issues
are quite old (during GS 1.0.0 release) and must have been fixed at a
development.

Thanks & Regards,
/Nuwan

Re: [Carbon-dev] Failed to build qpid in orbit due to unresolved artifacts

2010-12-14 Thread Danushka Menikkumbura
The latest Qpid artifacts are not hosted on a repo. Even the Qpid repo does
not have the latest ones. You need to build Qpid locally (it has an ant
build) and install artifacts into your local repo using maven until we host
them on our maven repo.

In my case, uddi-ws.jar (which is one of jar that I use for publishing
services to UDDI) needs to call to the javax.xml.ws.Service class in JDK but
in OSGI environment It calls to javax.xml.ws.Service class in geronimo-jaxws
jar. I overcome this issue by putting uddi-ws.jar in CARBON_HOME/lib folder
and added all packages of uddi-ws.jar to launch.ini file. Then it called
correct Service class in JDK.

 which is at

artifacts are not resolved.
Following is the repositories in orbit/pom.xml

wso2-maven2-snapshot-repository
WSO2 Maven2 SNAPSHOTS
http://dist.wso2.org/snapshots/maven2

true
always
ignore

false

wso2-maven2-repository
WSO2 Maven2 Repository
http://dist.wso2.org/maven2

false

true
never
fail

jboss-maven-repository
JBoss Maven Repository

So do we have to update repository locations? or I am missing something

Also, it might work for you, because you have all latest Axis2 built on your

some dependency problem here.

+1
I also faced this issue when using JMS transport when ESB deployed on
WebLogic. I have to delete geronimo-jms jar to work it.

IMO we shouldn't even ship geronimo_jms library with the ESB. Some JMS
providers (eg: Websphere) ships with their own JMS API and their JMS clients
sometimes do not work properly with geronimo JMS API. We should just let the
user deploy their own JMS libraries.

I also faced similar kind of class loading issue because
of geronimo-jaxws_2.1_spec-1.0.jar and geronimo-jaxws_2.2_spec.jar, both of
these two jars expose "javax.xml.ws" package which is in JDK 1.6 too.

which is at

Hi Sadeep,

This diff is related to the secure vault. As we are going to change secure
vault stuff, patch is not applied to trunk. New implementation would be
available on the trunk.

Thanks,

[Carbon-dev] [ANN] WSO2 Application Server 4.0.0 Released.

2010-12-14 Thread Sameera Jayasoma
WSO2 Application Server(WSO2 AS) 4.0.0 Released.

WSO2 Application Server is an Enterprise ready application server based on
the award-winning WSO2 Carbon framework.
Being the successor of the WSO2 Web Services Application Server(WSAS), WSO2
Application Server(AS) 4.0.0 now supports web application deployment and
management in addition to its web services management capabilities. Coupled
with WSO2 Carbon Authentication/Authorization feature, now users can manage
their applications that ranges from web services, business processes to web
applications in a unified manner within the WSO2 AS management console
itself. WSO2 AS uses Apache Tomcat, the widely used servlet container as its
underlying web application container.

WSO2 AS supports Java components as services using both SOAP and REST
models. Web services support include WS-Security, WS-Trust,
WS-SecureConversation, WS-Reliable Messaging, WS-Addressing, WS-Policy,
WS-SecurityPolicy and more, giving a fully secure and reliable
infrastructure that interoperates with both J2EE and .NET frameworks using
open standard protocols.

WSO2 AS is built on Apache Axis2, the popular Web services framework mainly
developed by WSO2 engineers. WSO2 AS provides many value additions on top of
Axis2, making it a more enterprise ready product. It also integrates other
core Apache Web services projects such as Apache Axiom, Apache Rampart,
Apache Sandesha2, Apache Savan , and Apache Neethi to form a production
quality, comprehensive Web services server platform.

An open source product, WSO2 AS is available under the Apache Software
License (v2.0) . This
includes all of the extra integration and management functionality as well.

[Carbon-dev] New Gadgets for Gadget Server 1.3.0

2010-12-14 Thread Nuwan Bandara
Hi all,

Since there were no much change done during the releases for the default set
of gadgets, which are shipped with the gadget server, there is a need to add
few new gadgets as default ones. Since at present we have a gadget authoring
framework, I believe we can add about two gadgets written using WSO2Vis.

With Chanaka's help we are planing to add

   1. Real-time sales stats gadgets (modifying the request stats gadget)
   2. Web site visitor stats monitoring gadget

Sample data will be taken from a simple web-app deployed in Stators app
server.

Any thoughts are welcome for new gadgets, and we are not planing to create
any complecated gadgets given the time frame, since the release is scheduled
for coming Friday.

I believe on JDK 1.6 these packages are there by default. So should be
OK to remove it. It is better if we can verify the JMS transport

with Ruwan and he mentioned that, this is because, starting from
JDK1.6, they are shipping the "javax.transaction" packages by default.
So since Carbon 3.1.0 is only supported by JDK1.6 and onwards, I
suggest removing the unnecessary geronimo jars from carbon core.

Cheers,

Yeah, but according to Ruwan, since this is given by JDK1.6, it is no
longer required as a separate jar.

[Carbon-dev] javax.transaction package duplicated in geronimo-jta_1.1_spec

So since Carbon 3.1.0 is only supported by JDK1.6 and onwards, I
suggest removing the unnecessary geronimo jars from carbon core.
