Ideally we should not modify this pom, but while branching stratos/common features we faced an issue. All the stratos component's versions were are defined in this parent pom and the version was defined as ${pom.version}. So at build time maven started searching the patched version of all dependent components, to overcome this we created a patch version of the common/feature parent and pointed this as the parent for the patched server and aggregate feature. Hope my explanation was clear :) Yes, we learned that the dependency versions should have been defined as carbon.platform.version, not POM version. In fact, thinking about it logically, using pom.version to define the version of a dependency is wrong. It is only a coincidence that the pom.version carbon.platform.version happened to be the same value. Ideally, we should define separate versions for each and every component. +1 .. I'll fix this on trunk for the stratos common feature. regards, Ruchira -- Ruchira Wageesha Software Engineer - WSO2 Inc. www.wso2.com Email: ruch...@wso2.com Blog: ruchirawagee...@blogspot.com Mobile: +94771083017 Lean . This eliminates httpd sitting in front of WSO2 Load Balancer - STRATOS-828 https://wso2.org/jira/browse/STRATOS-828. Tomcat's AccessLogValve code segments were used with thanks, in this implementation. As discussed with Azeez offline, I will branch wso2's synapse branch (2.1.0-wso2v3) and commit the changes along with the changes to the relevant 3.2.1 components/products to use. I will also create an rfe and attach the patch to the Synapse Jira. To enable access logging, you will have to uncomment (or place) log4j.logger.org.apache.synapse.transport.nhttp.access=DEBUG from the log4j.properties of Load Balancer or ESB product. I have done considerable testing for performance and compatibility, and will keep improving too, if Chamith comes up with further requirements for his log analyzer tools. 10.100.0.15:9443 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:14 +0530] GET /carbon/statistics/index.jsp?region=region4item=statistics_menu HTTP/1.1 302 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/viewflows/index.jsp?region=region4item=flows_menu Synapse-HttpComponents-NIO 10.100.0.15:8243 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:14 +0530] GET /carbon/statistics/index.jsp?region=region4item=statistics_menu HTTP/1.1 302 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/viewflows/index.jsp?region=region4item=flows_menu Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110422 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.17 10.100.0.15:9443 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:14 +0530] GET /carbon/admin/login.jsp HTTP/1.1 200 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/viewflows/index.jsp?region=region4item=flows_menu Synapse-HttpComponents-NIO 10.100.0.15:8243 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:14 +0530] GET /carbon/admin/login.jsp HTTP/1.1 200 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/viewflows/index.jsp?region=region4item=flows_menu Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110422 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.17 10.100.0.15:9443 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:28 +0530] POST /carbon/admin/login_action.jsp HTTP/1.1 302 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/admin/login.jsp; Synapse-HttpComponents-NIO 10.100.0.15:8243 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:28 +0530] POST /carbon/admin/login_action.jsp HTTP/1.1 302 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/admin/login.jsp; Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110422 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.17 10.100.0.15:9443 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:28 +0530] GET /carbon/statistics/index.jsp?region=region4item=statistics_menuloginStatus=true HTTP/1.1 200 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/admin/login.jsp; Synapse-HttpComponents-NIO 10.100.0.15:8243 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:29 +0530] GET /carbon/statistics/index.jsp?region=region4item=statistics_menuloginStatus=true HTTP/1.1 200 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/admin/login.jsp; Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110422 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.17 10.100.0.15:9443 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:28 +0530] GET /carbon/admin/jsp/registry_styles_ajaxprocessor.jsp HTTP/1.1 200 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/statistics/index.jsp?region=region4item=statistics_menuloginStatus=true Synapse-HttpComponents-NIO 10.100.0.15:8243 - - [22/Jun/2011:16:57:29 +0530] GET /carbon/admin/jsp/registry_styles_ajaxprocessor.jsp HTTP/1.1 200 - https://10.100.0.15:8243/carbon/statistics/index.jsp?region=region4item=statistics_menuloginStatus=true Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110422 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.17 Thank you. [Carbon-dev] Event InMemory implementation (in memory delivery manager)
hi, We have completed the $subject and will update the other products once it is tested with private cloud. However there are some other issue to attend as well. We have made Event Broker component directly depend on Qpid over the time. I think we need to remove this dependency and let other products run with inmemory implementation without Qpid being bundle on them. And also in the topic browse view, it shows the jms subscription details obtain through Qpid service. If we go with an inmemory one jms subscription details are irrelevant. So shall we remove them as well? thanks, Amila. ___ Carbon-dev mailing list Carbon-dev@wso2.org http://mail.wso2.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/carbon-dev

Milinda, This means our branching model where we simply create the directory based on carbon.platform.version will not work. That directory has to be created after processing the relevant POM. Re: [Carbon-dev] Stratos service aware dynamic LB
This has been implemented in the 3.2.0 branch and is almost complete. I'm facing a minor issue in trying to getting the requested domain or complete URL from the Synapse MessageContext. Once that is fixed, this will be complete. The plan is to write a new ServiceAwareDynamicLoadBalanceEndpoint, which will do LB based on the service. Axis2 already has support for handling multiple cluster domains, so we will have to write a new Axis2LoadBalanceMembershipHandler which is service aware. The autoscaling would also need to be modified, but autoscaling is actually a separate aspect, and we can even run the autoscaler separately if we are going for the CPU load average based one. MapString, String headers = (MapString, String)((Axis2MessageContext) synCtx).getAxis2MessageContext().getProperty(org.apache.axis2.context.MessageContext.TRANSPORT_HEADERS); String address = headers.get(Host); On Sat, Jun 25, 2011 at 9:36 AM, Afkham Azeez az...@wso2.com wrote: On Sat, Jun 25, 2011 at 4:47 AM, Hiranya Jayathilaka hira...@wso2.comwrote: I found following on simple HTTP server code: msgContext.setProperty(MessageContext.TRANSPORT_ADDR, conn.getLocalAddress().getHostAddress()); This returns null for the NHTTP transport But other transports doesn't seem to be setting this. I didn't find anything relevant in servlet transport code :( Thanks, Hiranya On Sat, Jun 25, 2011 at 3:48 AM, Hiranya Jayathilaka hira...@wso2.comwrote: On Sat, Jun 25, 2011 at 3:07 AM, Afkham Azeez az...@wso2.com wrote: Sorry, this does not work. I had hardcoded the host for testing it, so for subsequent requests that prop was there. It doesn't look like we are keeping track of the full request URI while mediation. The NHTTP transport sets a property named TransportInURL (which I think other transports are setting too) on Axis2 message context upon receiving a request. But I'm not sure even that will give the full URL. Here's the implementation from NHTTP transport: msgContext.setProperty( Constants.Configuration.TRANSPORT_IN_URL, request.getRequestLine().getUri()); Very often the URI extracted from the request line is a relative URI and so will not contain the hostname part. Worth trying out though. BTW can't we just infer the hostname part since we know the hostname of the server where the code is running? The plan is to write a new ServiceAwareDynamicLoadBalanceEndpoint, which will do LB based on the service. Axis2 already has support for handling multiple cluster domains, so we will have to write a new Axis2LoadBalanceMembershipHandler which is service aware. The autoscaling would also need to be modified, but autoscaling is actually a separate aspect, and we can even run the autoscaler separately if we are going for the CPU load average based one. Thoughts please.
