You can see the following message in server startup console :
*"[2012-03-01 09:11:42,921]  INFO
{org.wso2.carbon.transaction.manager.TransactionFactory} -  Starting
Atomikos Transaction Manager UNKNOWN"*

And also you can deploy the sample dbs "DTPSampleService.dbs" and get the
the full error stack trace. If you can commit the fix done for context.xml
issue , I can test the Transaction manager functionality in DSS..

Dinusha.

2012-02-28 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi,

This should be fixed with the revision 121667. I removed the atomikos
module from carbon/core and could able to build it successfully since i'm
not using a clean repo. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Dinusha.

Re: [Carbon-dev] Error when deploying a Data service in AS (in current trunk)

2012-02-24 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi Kishanthan,

This error is due to removal of carbon/lib jars related to
transaction-manager. We are in the process of separating atomikos from
carbon core and bundle it as a separate feature. will update the thread
once it done.

Dinusha.

Earlier what we have suggested is to map the input parameters one by one
using xpath or provide them as inline or map the whole set of parameters @
once using xpath. In new suggested way, we have only above last option and
need to have the xml that can be directly used to call operation or do some
xslt transformation and make the incoming soap body to have that xml.

[Carbon-dev] Data Services Mediator for ESB

2012-01-18 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi All,

We are going to develop a ESB mediator which can be shipped as a feature
and once this feature is installed within ESB, the DS mediator can be used
to make data services calls in-line, without making actual SOAP requests,
but it will use in-memory calls to invoke data service operations.

So this will add the capability to have .dbs file in registry or some other
file location and invoke the data-service operations without deploying the
.dbs as a data-service and process the response within the ESB.

Possible mediator configuration will look as follows:

...

Appreciate any feedback and ideas.

Regards,
Dinusha.

ESB does not contain inbuilt feature to do this. But you can write your own
Custom mediator to achieve this through ESB. Rather writing a custom
mediator, WSO2 Data Services Server itself contains inbuilt feature to use
Excel as a data-source and extract the data. So you can use either WSO2 DSS
product or you can install data-services feature within ESB and use it from
there.

Dinusha.

this "../../". May be this cause to build fail
for you. BTW it works in builder machine as well. We changed it as
"../../pom.xml".

DSS pack has been re-packed and hosted by removing RSS feature related
things from component.xml of org.wso2.carbon.adminconsole.ui-3.2.2.jar. So

[Carbon-dev] Event Feature Error

2011-06-07 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi,

In DSS RC-7 pack event feature has broken. This works fine earlier.
In DSS we use following method to clear the subscriptions when data service
get deployed.

private void clearDataServicesEventSubscriptions(
EventBroker eventBroker) throws DataServiceFault {
try {
String owner;
for (Subscription subs : eventBroker.getAllSubscriptions(null))
{
owner = subs.getOwner();
if (owner != null && owner.equals(this.getName())) {
eventBroker.unsubscribe(subs.getId());
}
}
} catch (EventBrokerException e) {
throw new DataServiceFault(e);
}
}

Now we are getting following error when Event data service get deployed,

DS Code: UNKNOWN_ERROR
Nested Exception:-
org.wso2.carbon.event.core.exception.EventBrokerException: User
wso2.system.user does not own subscription

 Looks like a regression caused by the addition of the local transport
 listener. I'm not getting this on my local builds, but it is not impossible
 for this to occur. I don't quite understand the rationale behind
 introducing
 this transport listener to Axis2. It has caused more problems in last few
 days than it has solved. Can Heshan or somebody please explain why it is
 needed to create a transport listener instance for the local transport?

 As for this exception I can see the source file of the class in question
 available at [3]. May be there was a problem in the builder updating
 dependencies/axis2? This class should be available in the Axis2 Orbit
 bundle
 (it is available in my local build and it starts up without issues). Also
 can you try starting the ESB with the local transport listener commented
 out
 in axis2.xml?

 Thanks,
 Hiranya

Re: [Carbon-dev] Default text for text boxes

2011-04-18 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi,

I have implemented this also as a tag library and added as a carbon tag in
the Carbon UI Core bundle.

This is how this tag library can be used in a JSP file :

1. When the default text is taken from a resource bundle .

   If JSP page is using a common resource bundle , you can skip giving
resourceBundle name.

2. If you want you can define the default text inside tag lib itself without
taking from a resource bundle.

Regards,
Dinusha.

[Carbon-dev] Notes From Data Services UI Review - Round 2

2011-03-22 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Mentioned below are the notes taken during the DS UI wizard usability review
round 2.

*In service details page:*
Manage Password
--
Secure vault should be server specific configuration.
User should be able to override password provider class by his own class if
needed.

Remove the flag enable distributed transactions.

*In Add New Data Source page:*
--
Provide check-box instead of drop down box to identify XA-DataSources and
non-XA_DataSources.
Currently XA specific configurations are defined in separate page. Define XA
specific configuration in the same location as we are adding a new data
source.

Introduce a way to share all data sources across data services.
Currently if we create a data source through the DS wizard, it is specific
for that service.
If we need to share the same data source from collection of services there
is no option.

*In addQuery.jsp*:

Change IDs as names - Eg: Query Id - Query Name
If the same query name is given validate at the given time, not when the
next button click.

*SQL Dialects*:
-
Enable user to decide upon the keywords that can be used to identify the
database types (currently we are using standard driver
prifixes such as mssql, mysql,etc as they appear in the jdbc url), keep a
default location to keep the dialect types.

*Allowed User Roles*:
-
This should be an advanced configuration.
User roles can be applied only if security is applied.
If click on user roles, pop up a message telling service should be secured
to apply user roles.
Implementation of the everyone role should be reconsidered and handled from
IS side.

If there is only one data source defined, user should not have to define
data source again and again when adding a new query.
In this scenario, the corresponding Data source should be considered by
default for queries that are defined.

*General comments:*
--
If there are default values associated with fields, they can be shown in
input fields before the user enters the desired value and,
at that point the default value should be disappeared with the mouse enter
event gets triggered.

Put the advanced configurations into a seperate section and hide them.

Add paginations to add new queries and add new operations

Please add any points if i have missed.

Regards,
Dinusha.

2011-03-06 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi,

I did some modifications to this tag library. When JSP page is using a
common resource bundle, tool tip tag library modified to take that resource
bundle.

To use that in JSP,

This will take the common resource bundle define in JSP.

If need to define a resource bundle other than the common bundle use in JSP
page,

Re: [Carbon-dev] Tool tip script

2011-02-27 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi,

I wrapped the above tool tip Java Script as a Tag Library and going to add
as a carbon tag in the Carbon UI Core bundle.

This is the tld for this tag library.

tooltips
org.wso2.carbon.ui.taglibs.TooltipsGenerator
JSP
A tag for displaying tool tip

image
true
true

description
false
true

resourceBundle
false
true

key
false
true

noOfWordsPerLine
false
true

Attributes taken in tag :

   - image - this attribute take the image that tool tip should appear when
   mouse over it.
   - description - this is the tool tip content. This should provide only
   when content is taken as user text without taking from resource bundle.
   - resourceBundle - resource bundle name. eg:
   org.wso2.carbon.dataservices.ui.i18n.Resources. This should provide only
   when tool tip content is reading from a resource file.
   - key - element in resource file to take tool tip content. eg:
   dataservices.enableboxcarring.help. This also provide only when tool tip
   content is reading from a resource file.
   - noOfWordsPerLine - you can adjust the size of tool tip box by giving
   no of words that should contain in a single line. optional attribute.
   default set to 10.

This is how this tag library can use in a jsp file :

1. When the tool tip content is taken from a resource bundle .

2. When the tool tip content is taken as text input without taking from
resource file.

Regards,
Dinusha.

[Carbon-dev] Gadget doest not get updated when gadget xml file is updated

2010-12-12 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi Nuwan,

I am using GS-1.3.0 binary pack and it frequently give me an random error.

The issue is,
Gadget does not get updated when the gadget xml file is updated. It gives
the previously cached gadget.
I need to delete the gadget from dashboard and restart the server and add
the gadget to dashboard again to solve this. But it also not works
sometimes.

Re: [Carbon-dev] SOAP Web Services invocation feature not available in Gadget Server binary distribution

2010-11-25 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi Vitor,

Using gadgets.io.makeRequest(url, callbackfunction, params) we do a Restful
invocation where we pass the parameters in url.
I need to invoke a data service which used to insert data to a table and
here i need to pass some urls as parameters.
But the problem i faced with the above proposed way is Data Service could
not identify the url as parameter.

wso2gs-1.3.0 has included feature that we can make SOAP invocations through
wso2.io.makeSOAPRequest(endpoint, operation, payload) method.
Here we can define the request message payload and it solves my problem that
i could not pass url as a parameter when using rest calls.

Thanks & Regards,
Dinusha.

[Carbon-dev] SOAP Web Services invocation feature not available in Gadget Server binary distribution

2010-11-24 Thread Dinusha Senanayaka
Hi,

I am using binary distribution of Gadget Server version 1.2.0.
I tried to invoke a Data service from gadget. For that i used gadget.io.
makeSOAPRequest() method.
But when i deploy the gadget in to dashboard, gadget doesn't load correctly
and says "Unsupported feature: [wso2]".

Seems this feature not included for GS 1.2.0 or 1.1.0.

Thanks,
Dinusha.
