Re: [Carbon-dev] how to clear cache editing gadgets ?

2010-09-28 Thread ratha
Hi ajith,
Actually gadgets are populated very first time when server starts up..
you need to go through the registry browser and delete dashboard
component and restart the server with the new changes..
Else.
get fresh distribution and replace ur gadget.xml+dashboard.xml+js files
and check..

[Carbon-dev] BAM Message storage

2010-09-06 Thread ratha
Hi,
As you all know, we have to store the full message at BAM side to
support message lookup.
Storing the messages in BLOB/CLOB format and casting them again will
cause huge performance hit. So our plan is to keep the message in text
formatand allowing user to store up to 1MB.
These are the proposed columns in our new table.(BAM_MESSAGE_DATA Table?)

* BAM_ID -->PK
* BAM_MESSAGE_ID -->FK
* BAM_ACTIVITY_ID -->FK (?)
* BAM_TIMESTAMP
* BAM_DIRECTION-->(in/out)
* BAM_MESSAGE
* BAM_REMOTE_IP

Your thoughts are welcome..
Thanks.

This cause errors[1] sometimes in windows environment. When I change

Hi azeez,
I'm not aware of such implementation. For stratos, what we do is , we
introduce bam subscriber service endpoint @ carbon.xml of wsas
https://192.168.2.3:9444/services/BAMServiceStatisticsSubscriberService

and processing from publisher endpoint.(engaging the module for a tenant
configuration).

Thanks.

Hi all,
We finished the merging process .
Please commit the changes you have done in branch after 1/7/2010.
I see several bug fixes and styling stuff also have been done in branch.
Thanks.

[Carbon-dev] trunk data-services compilation error..

2010-06-30 Thread ratha
I get following build error[1].
My current axis2 trunk version-SNAPSHOT
- synapse version-2.0.0-SNAPSHOT
- axiom-1.2.10-SNAPSHOT

In both places(axis2, synapse) i changed the axiom version to
1.2.10-SNAPSHOT.

What version of Synapse/axis2 will fix this?

[Carbon-dev] can we hide data service in service management console?

2010-06-08 Thread ratha
Hi,
How can we hide data service in service management console? I introduced
a param in DS file /*serviceStatus="inactive" */but it initially makes
the service inactive but user can make it active and do further changes ..
In BAM, we use data services which need to hide from the user[1]

Hi,
How did u add the ESB server in BAM?
Seems that you have added the 'Eventing' server's data type as
'service'. It should be mediation type.
Thanks.

[Carbon-dev] org.apache.naming* jar

2010-02-08 Thread ratha
Hi all,
Im getting following exception when i pass parameters from JSP to
BE(creating an connection with a JMXserver). Seems i need to add a
dependency in carbon.ui pom.xml.
I couldnt find the exact jar of this. I've found that it comes with
tomcat distribution.
If so what would be the version, i should add @ pom?
Or is it a separate jar?(location+version?)

Hi,

I face difficulty to build
carbon-core_2.0.3/features(p2-profile-generation) component. It was
stuck at following line. No more execution after that.
Any reason...?(on windows environment)

[INFO] Executed tasks
[INFO] [site:attach-descriptor]
[INFO] [carbon-p2:p2-repo-gen {execution: 4-p2-repository-generation}]
[INFO] Running Equinox P2 Publisher Application for Repository Generation

Thanks.

Here server registration happens using zeroconf protocol. Zeroconf
enables the automatic configuration of network services, through the use
of multicast on local networks.
So when we register a carbon server with JmDNS( dns server , zeroconf
java implementation) , the services which are deployed in that
particular server can be accessible via the network.

/Zero configuration networking is good for environments where
administration is impractical or impossible. It is intended for small
networks, ad-hoc networks or situations where devices need to communicate
with each other over a direct connection. There is no provision
forrouting traffic in and out of the Zeroconf network. The beauty of
Zeroconf Networking is that the protocols it defines are small
extensions of existing network protocols, and they coexist peacefully
with their
centrally configured brethren. Also, the Zeroconf protocols do not
depend on each other: one can function in the absence of others./

Table has columns of datatype TIMESTAMP. Dates are implicitly
convertible to timestamps But we are passing strings not dates.

eg:- From, BAMSummaryGeneratot.ds,

INSERT INTO BAM_QTR_DIM (BAM_START_TIMESTAMP, BAM_NAME,
BAM_NO, BAM_YEAR) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?)

For the following issue[1], result elements in BAMSummaryDS have been
defined with 'timestamp'. That may be the reason. I couldnt test since i
dont have configuration.
Please change the element's name, and just check once.

[Carbon-dev] Code Review Notes - BAM_28/10/09:(Resending)

2009-10-28 Thread ratha

--- Begin Message ---

Hi all,

Following notes were taken from today's session.

1. Merge *BAM.List* and *BAM.Mgt *bundles with core bundle.

   * Have only org.wso2.carbon.bam and org.wso2.carbon.bam.ui bundles.

2.BAM.Util--->Constants class should go under core bundle.

3. Mgt.UI

   * pom.xml should not have a element. Export all the
 bundles with *carbon ui *header.
   * i18n all the messages not only in JSPs but also in client classes.
   * BAMStatqueryDsClient class need to be separated.
   * BackendServiceURL should point to the service. Remove the
operation from ServiceURL in the client class.
   * Write common client class and share among all other bundles.(
 gauges&mgt.ui share common client classes)
   * BAMStatQueryDsclient class has two constructors. Need to remove.
   * JSPs should handle exception properly.
o Before rendering the page, do all the remote calls.
o In websphere after deleting a server redirection to the
server list page can be done through CarbonUI.utils--->get

   context root.
o Set the error status to 500 .
o forward the errors to carbon/error.jsp.

Thanks.
-Ratha.

[Carbon-dev] Code Review Notes - BAM_22/10/09

2009-10-22 Thread ratha
Hi all,

The following notes were taken from today's BAM product's code review .

1. Rename the package "*org.wso2.carbon.bam.core.admin*" to relevant
data mapper/data names . Since it doesn't have any admin services.
2. In "org.wso2.carbon.bam.core.dao"

* the class "TenentDAO" has wrong spelling.
* In each class, all methods create a new instance of DSClient
class. Make it a common object.
* Need to refactor DAO class
* Should have better "try catch block" (don't catch specific Exceptions)

3. No need "*org.wso2.carbon.bam.core.data.model*" class, use the
definitions available from the *"org.wso2.carbon.bam.core.data.data"
*class.(should be re factored. Need to keep clear definition )
4. BAMServiceComponent should unregister the Poller service also. (Even
after unregistering the Registry service, polling will run )

* Need to check above mechanism for all other carbon components.?

5. Have to implement Caching logic
6. Remove registry based implementation and go with DB. Save all server
related information at the DB .(Need to survive only with DB.)
7. Should keep registry browser.?
8. Rename
"*org.wso2.carbon.bam.core.persistence.BamRegistryResource*">"*org.wso2.carbon.bam.core.persistence.BAMConstants*"

Next Tuesday, remaining bundles in BAM product will be reviewed .
If i missed any points pls add to this thread.

Thanks.
-Ratha.

Still I couldn't retrieve the serverID from the database(H2-DB).
I subscribed the server as eventing server with IP -http://192.168.1.2:9763.
It stored in DB. But when i retrive the serverID from that i get
"serverArray as null".
Due to this i couldnt get the operation ID. That causes error when try
to save the message data in DB.
I'm working on this..

Thanks.

[Carbon-dev] ActivityID based message storage..

2009-10-12 Thread ratha
Hi all,
To collect data stats using BAM activity ID, i have added the following
operations.

Operations.

1.Add a new activity using name, description, userDefined ID.
2. Delete an activity using BAM_ID <auto generated by DB.
3.Get activity for a given " Name and Description"
4.Get activity for a given ActivityID <- BaM_ID(auto generated)
5.Get all activities for a given Description

Do i need to add more operations?
Any suggestions .

Thanks.
-Ratha.

Operation level handler is attached to process all the messages coming
to the server.
While login to the admin console i face this error... Seems password is
missing in the message body(2nd message)...But i just process only the
header..(try to add header block to the envelope, but getting the error .)
Soon after getting the first msg received the 2nd msg.

What might be the reason to miss the password param in body??? where
i'm going wrong?
