What I need is just the
org.wso2.carbon.load.balance.agent.stub-3.2.0.SNAPSHOT.jar along with the
Autoscale mediator with the ESB stand alone product. I will need the
org.wso2.carbon.load.balance.agent-1.1.0.SNAPSHOT.jar (the agent) in the
service instances ONLY (not stand alone esb).

I will remove the agent from ESB.

I am somewhat reluctant to use the name autoscaler-agent. It mostly gets the
load, and in fact, I further to get the minimal load etc, from the autoscale
mediator. It has nothing to do with the autoscaling. Moreover, it can be
used in load balancing more effectively. Hence we chose that name first.

Thank you.

Since this is needed by autoscaler, we will need this for ESB product, as
ESB can be used to auto scale (autoscaling mediator) with the load.
Moreover, as autoscalar (autoscale mediator) is installed by default, we
will need this installed by default too. Otherwise autoscalar won't function
properly.

This gets the system information (load average, for now) from the remote
instances and sends those parameters back to ESB autoscale mediator.

Thank you.

Yes, this is not needed in the standalone product, only the services.

There are two aspects here: the actual autoscaling Synapse task, which runs
on the LB, and the autoscaling-agent, which is available on each of the
Stratos services. The task will talk to these agents, and get the load
average of the machines on which those agents are running. The average load
thus computed will be used for making the scale-up or scale-down decision.
Pradeeban, please make the necessary changes, and remove the unnecessary
stuff from the products. Also rename the agent code to autoscaler-agent.
Note that it is not scalar but scaler.

This goes to all the services (including ESB) and ESB product. This works as
an agent in the services, while essentially working with autoscaling
mediator, which is a part of ESB product. Hence this goes to ESB product
too.

[Carbon-dev] Loadbalance feature in ESB product

2011-05-05 Thread Supun Kamburugamuva
We can see that the loadbalance feature has being included to the ESB
product. Why are we including this feature to the product? I believe
this should go to the ESB service?
