Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Help with hware transcoding......

2010-01-03 Thread Peter Slow
All of your dialpeers use the same codec. you have to hard set the
incoming and outgoing dial-peers, to use g729 on one side, and 711 on
the other side. this is what triggers transcoder invocation in CUBE.

no... the IPAgentInitial.jsp page will prompt you for that stuff even
if you send the ID, Pwd and Ext parameters.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Help with hware transcoding......

2010-01-03 Thread Paul Dardinski
All,

Maybe I have been staring at SecureCRT just too many hours..frankly
need some help figuring out if I have a hardware issue or just a
bonehead operator issue

In essence, I simply cannot get the hware transcoder to invoke on calls.
I definitely have a fully registered profile, sccp shows fine and all
seems right with its world. However, on incoming calls from the gk, if I
set the codec to g729 on the incoming voip peer 2001, the call connects
from UCM to the 3002 extension without issue. If, however, I change the
incoming peer to g711u, then I get the fast busy on call pickup. I've
debugged just about everything I can and it just seems that while the
correct peers are getting hit, the transcoder just never answers the
request. Below see the full config, the sh dspf all, the sh sccp, sh
sdspf sess.

Any ideas on why the transcoder doesn't want to cooperate? Please feel
free to insult me if I'm missing some super obvious point.

I configured unity connection but when I test the voice mail, it does not go
to the voice mail, instead I get the message "hello unity cisco voice messagng
system, and then it says no operator available at this time. leave a general
message. Now I have not configured unity as an auto attendant. I am thinking
there is an issue with direct routing rules and forwarded routing rules. Any
suggestions?

You dont see it because your call isnt redirected =) when you hit the
messages button, you're making a direct call. in all likelihood, your
call is getting to the VM pilot with its full caller ID. unity is
going to need to see the call as comign from the approriate 4-digit
extension for it to recognize you as a subscriber. what you need to do
is change your calling party number in between the point where the
call comes back in the HQQ Gateway and gets to the VM port. you can
accomplish this with the calling party transform mask on the hunt
pilot or through the use of a translation pattern. There is probably
at least one other way to do it.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number

2010-01-03 Thread Robert McGhee

Hi All,

I'm trying some variations to the IPX volume 2 labs and there's
a section that requires a branch site to maintain voicemail functionality
while in SRST mode (press the message button and get prompted for pin not
userID). In the workbook they do this using an alternative extension in
CUC. Is it also possible to do this by configuring the SRST gateway to send
the redirecting number in the IE messages and also for the HQ gateway to
accept the redirecting IE messages? I tried setting this up in my home lab
but can't seem to pass the redirecting IE messages; I don't see it at all
when debugging isdn q931 on the SRST gateway. The only configuration I have
on that router is "isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number" under serial
interface of the PRI; do I need anything else? Should I see the redirecting
number in those debugs and can this work?

Thank you..

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Home Lab - Minimum PVDM2's Needed

2010-01-03 Thread Bryan Brooks
I am just getting started in my pursuit of the lab and I was curious what
the minimum amount of pvdm2's at each site would be in order to successfully
accomplish the labs on my home lab? I am using IPexperts lab manuals for
V3. My home lab is basically setup like proctor labs with a few
substitutes. I am still in the process of piecing it together and was
trying to determine the best approach would be or if I should use rented
rack time?

Thanks in advance.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUCM Connectivity Issue - Proctor Labs

2010-01-03 Thread Berry, Matthew J.
I am experiencing an odd connectivity issue. I will be connected into Proctor
Labs working away at the routers, 3750 switch, and CUCMs. Then, all of the
sudden, I will lose my ability to connect to the CUCM webpages. On further
investigation, it seems that the route to 10.10.210.0/24 subnet is lost on my
local router.

The only workaround is to completely reload my router and establish the EZVPN
connection back into Proctor Labs.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Does anyone have ideas for a fix?

Thanks,
Matthew Berry

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCM and CME-SRST issue

2010-01-03 Thread Ahmed Ellboudy
Dear All ,

I have a CCM version 7.0 on site A and two H.323 Voice gateways on site
B , the connection between Site A and site B is a VPN on the Internet
and we used the two VG as CME in case of the VPN down (CME-SRST) ,but I
face a problem that the Phones take a long time to register on the CME
(about 5 minutes) ,Is there any command adjust this time.

Also when the VPN reconnect the phones did not sense that the connection
is reestablished , and I must reset the phones to register again on the
CCM , is there anything to be add to make the registration automatic?

Thanks and BR,

Try stopping the ccm service on your SUB and see if the phones can register
okay. This is a lab deployment, correct? It sure looks like a replication

You might want to make sure you have all the necessary configuration files
served up via tftp. Also try running "debug tftp events". Also, try upgrading
it using CUCM, , which is faster and more reliable that doing so via CME.

Betreff: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUCM 7.X Auto Registration issues...

  Guys,

  I have a CUCM 7.x cluster ( 7.1(2) ) with a Pub and a Sub with the Sub
being the primary server for phones to register to via the CM Group, and
auto registration is turned on for the Sub. DHCP is running on the Pub,
the phones get an IP Address, and download the firmware fine, when they
attempt to register to the CUCM Server something very strange occurs.
It seems like the phone registers for a split second and then I get the
"registration rejected" message. The phone then attempts to register
again and for a split second I see it register, then I recieve the
"registration rejected" message.

If I click on the Settings > Status > Status Messages, I see the
following.

  4:19:58a SEPXXX.cnf.xml
  4:19:58a No CTL Installed
  4:19:58a No IPv4 TFTP Server

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUCM 7.X Auto Registration issues...

2010-01-03 Thread Peter Weeks
Hi Alex

I have had similar issues on earlier versions of Call manager but I haven't
always been able to explain what happens. I think you may need to point the
option 150 to the subscriber and not the publisher. If this is just a test
installation the try a manual config of the phone as a check. I have found
that the auto config CUCM should be the same as the option 150.

I hope this helps

Peter

Guys,

I have a CUCM 7.x cluster ( 7.1(2) ) with a Pub and a Sub with the Sub being
the primary server for phones to register to via the CM Group, and auto
registration is turned on for the Sub. DHCP is running on the Pub, the phones
get an IP Address, and download the firmware fine, when they attempt to
register to the CUCM Server something very strange occurs. It seems like the
phone registers for a split second and then I get the "registration rejected"
message. The phone then attempts to register again and for a split second I
see it register, then I recieve the "registration rejected" message.

If I click on the Settings > Status > Status Messages, I see the following.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CME SIP phones

2010-01-03 Thread Peter Weeks
Hi

A similar problem to one already posted but the suggestions I found in the
achieve don't appear to work.

My 7960 has come up as a SIP phone but it keep downloading its configuration
file every few seconds.
There doesn't appear to be a dhcp issue the sccp phone is fine and the lease
time is 8 days. I have tried removing the voice register pool commands and
reconfiguring the phone. I have even booted the br1 router. Any ideas?

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Volume 1 Lab 2

2010-01-03 Thread Peter Weeks
Hi!

I have some issues with ringing between HQ and BR1. When I ring 1002 from 5002
the calls goes through but when I answer the call it continues ringing on 5002
whilst 1002 assumes it is connected. After a short while the 1002 resets and
tells me that the Call manager is down. Any suggestions?

Phone 1002 also resets every now and again for no reason that I can see.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUCM 7.1(2) - Apply Config Button?

2010-01-03 Thread Alex Hannah
Guys,

I have a very stupid question regarding CUCM 7.1(X) and the new "Apply
Config" button. In regards to phones... if you configure the device then
the line on a phone, what the heck is the difference in "resetting" vs
"apply config"? It looks to me after reading the description of the apply
config button that is performs more a restart than a reset. Under what
circumstances would you use this in regards to a phone?

Thanks,

Alex
