Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CME phones and max number of supported calls

2010-10-09 Thread Vik Malhi
Is that 3 and 6 calls to the shared line or 3/6 calls cumulatively?

The restrictions imposed on the number of calls to a CME phone is done "per
line/button" assigned to a device as opposed to being a blanket "per device"
setting. So I think the cumulative option is not possible.

It¹s not published on the blueprint however the version used in the

so that is what I would go with.

Hello Experts,

In Q 5.1 all my calls are working successfulyy from UCM to CME and vice
versa Wel,However when calling from UCM to CME the call is 16 Kbps as per
the requirements as follow :

HQ-RTR#sh gatek calls
Total number of active calls = 1.
 GATEKEEPER CALL INFO

LocalCallIDAge(secs) BW
56-180 2 16(Kbps)
 Endpt(s): Alias E.164Addr

But when i call from CME to UCM Phones it give me that the B.W is 128 Kbps
as Follow :

HQ-RTR#sh gatek calls
Total number of active calls = 1.
 GATEKEEPER CALL INFO

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Call Forward Unregistered

2010-10-09 Thread Mark Holloway
By the way, I don't get why it works this way, but it does work. It's just
another one of those odd things you just have to know. Vik, I know you said
voicemail is the only place a Redirecting number is modified, and Marcelo
mentioned there is an issue CFUR and redirecting behavior in VMWare (I
experience different behavior each time I reset my rack too), so as odd as it
is I think it's important to know the Voicemail profile assignment is a valid
fix.

The easiest way is to use calling party Transformation on the outbound

For example - 5002 calling 3002 out of local gateway. create a pt and
assign it to a css. Assign css to the gateway "calling party
transformation css" and uncheck use dp box. Now create a calling party
transformation for 5XXX in the pt and modify the ANI to use extenal mask.

This will modify the ANI from 5xxx to external mask everytime the 5xxx
makes a call out of that gateway.

Ok, the secret to getting it to work every time is going to Device > Phone >
Line and setting the voicemail profile to Default (or some voicemail profile).
Even though should use the system default voicemail profile, if you
don't hard-set a voicemail profile the CFUR won't always show the external mask
when the call is forwarded, but if you force a voicemail profile on the Line it
will work. Thanks to both of you for your help. :)

You should not have to configure ospf, FR WAN links, etc, etc. When you
³load initial configs² for whatever lab you are doing you should see each
router/switch with a base config that has all this work done for you. Can
you confirm that you loaded the initial lab configs?

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Lab 1A: Implement Campus Infrastructure and
Services

Hello all,

I'd like to get your thoughts on this, from all of you that have gone
through this lab 1A initial config

I connect to proctorlabs with the ezvpn. i have the router, switch and
phones

I was trying to configure Lab 1A.
i started my session this morning which is still active as of right now
I waited 15 mins before I try to touch any device to avoid any kind of
problems.

when i finished configured the vlans and all of that on the 3 sites
when i was getting ready to start the DHCP configuration

I realized that i didn't have connectivity to the servers
I did the recommended steps
like resetting the vpn
check the configuration on the ports
however i did notice that switch port 1/0/24 was up up however nothing was
configured

the router didn't have any routing protocol running

on the remote sites none of the pvcs were configured

my question is. if there's nothing configured. no routing protocols no pvcs,
etc

should i need to configure the frame relay links ?
enable routing to have connectivity to all the sites ?

is that's the case that's cool, i didn't know and i know it may happen

however i just reverted the pod, loaded the final configuration waitied 15
minutes at least

and still I have no connectivity to the servers

this time i reset the vpn again
the configuarion on the ports has to be ok now
reloaded my router
reverted the pod again

and still nothing

this is a bit frustrating because i have spent most of my time trying to get
connectivity to the servers. i have 5.5 hours on the pod left

and i've spent 2 hours at least troubleshooting

please let me know your thoughts

this is my first experience and i don't know what to expect

thank you

Mark- can you try adding a new VM Profile for 3XXX with a MASK of the full
number (the # that you want to display on the Unregistered phone). The only
way to manipulate the Redirecting # in UCM is using the VM Profile.

want. I'm trying to figure out if I keep overlooking something.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MVA and MGCP

2010-10-09 Thread Stutz, Bernhard
No what I mean by that is that you can't configure a h323 gateway with
ip address 10.5.200.1 when you have already a gatekeeper with 10.5.200.1

This is what is meant when you got an error that the field matches an
existing database entry already.

So if you don't need your gatekeeper at this task, remove the gatekeeper
and you will be able to add the h.323 gateway.

Or if you want to keep your gatekeeper create a loopback interface where
you can bind your h323 gateway.

Bernhard

Bernhard,

It now just sunk in what you were getting at.

I do have a GK configured with the ip address that would be the same as
the H323 GW (10.5.200.1).

Does this mean I could potentially send the MVA communication through
the GK and then to CUCM?

Has anyone ever accomplished this?

Thanks,

Jeff

Maybe you have a gatekeeper with that ip address configured?

Your mgcp should be registered with the domain name something like
HQ-RTR.domain.com

Hi everyone,

I am trying to figure out how I can configure an MGCP GW to work with
MVA. I have a two sites, HQ (MGCP) and SB (H323) that I am configuring
to work with MVA.

I have successfully configure my SB router (H323) to allow MVA
capability with this configuration:

I have also configured a Remote Destination Profile and Remote
Destination that is working completely.

I only have a single interface on the HQ gateway (MGCP) that can be used
for communications with CUCM as my lab is hooked up to a corporate
network. Every time I try to add the H323 GW for this router to the
CUCM database I get an error saying that a required field matches an
existing database entry. I assume that this error is related to the
fact that I have the HQ GW registered as MGCP with the same interface's
IP address.

Is there any way to get this working with MGCP?

Thanks for your help,

Jeff

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] WB Volume 2 Lab 2 Q. 5.1

Hello Experts,

In Q 5.1 all my calls are working successfulyy from UCM to CME and vice versa
Wel,However when calling from UCM to CME the call is 16 Kbps as per the
requirements as follow :

HQ-RTR#sh gatek calls
Total number of active calls = 1.
 GATEKEEPER CALL INFO

LocalCallIDAge(secs) BW
56-180 2 16(Kbps)
 Endpt(s): Alias E.164Addr
   src EP: gk-trunk_25001

   CallSignalAddr Port RASSignalAddr Port
   10.10.110.3 1720 10.10.110.3 60248

But when i call from CME to UCM Phones it give me that the B.W is 128 Kbps as
Follow :

HQ-RTR#sh gatek calls
Total number of active calls = 1.
 GATEKEEPER CALL INFO

   192.168.15.101 1720 192.168.15.101 32802

SO WHAT COULD BE THE POTENTIAL PROBLEM ?.I'm using GK-Region which is g729r8

Never mind. Just checked, and the CM-A cannot ping CM-C, but CM-C can ping
