[OSL | CCIE_Voice] QOS - FRF.12 , physical interface issue

2011-03-15 Thread lakshmi adapala
Hi,

Iam running in to an issue where the service-policy applied in a map-class
(map-class applied under DLCI) is being removed as soon as the router is
being reloaded. Basically doing FRF.12 and my frame-relay fragment is
defined within map-class. Using class based shaping and another policy is
defined to match my traffic and define priority, policing etc.

Basically iam applying this class under DLCI and everything is working , i
can see the stats for the traffic as well (show policy-map interface ser) .
But for some reason as soon as i reload my router, the map class does not
contain the service policy anymore and under the physical serial interface
(not the sub interface) i see there is a fair-queue 64 252 52 (not sure
where these values are coming from). So at this point when i try to add
service-policy back to my map-class it gives me an error that first the fair
-queue need to be removed from the physical interface. So when i remove
that it is letting me add. So it seems to me that as soon as i reload the
fair-queue is being applied to the physical interface so it is causing it to
remove service policy from my mal-class.

Can someone let me know what could be causing it to apply fair-queue to the
physical interface and remove this ? I have tried different combinations of
applying service-policy directly to the sub interface etc but iam seeing
this all the time. Not using autoqos.

policy-map FRTS
class class-default
shape average 465000 4650 0
service-policy HQ

map-class frame-relay HQ
frame-relay fair-queue
frame-relay fragment
service-policy output FRTS

interface Seri0/1/1.201
bandwidth 512

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Cme to ccm via gatekeeper

2011-03-15 Thread Brian Mulgrew
Hi Leslie - I scribbled some notes down based on some labbing I done a few
weeks ago with the call path in both directions and both codec and phone
protcol do seem to come into play for set up and supplementary services.

In supp services testing I ensured no xcoder was available as i presumed
this would not be required once the call was set up, however, I now think
that an IOS MTP (which supports LBR codec) is required on the GK Trunk MRGL
to support supp services of multi protocol / mullti codec calls when call
flow is CME > GK > CUCM.

I also seem to remember if the codec is consitent in the call path, we can
initiate supp services even without the MTP and H245TCS checkboxes ticked on
the GK trunk.

Hope I havent confused things further!

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Cme to ccm via gatekeeper

2011-03-15 Thread Leslie Meade

It is some type of codec/mtp issue, i think.

If i change the voip dialpeer to include codec g711ulaw on the CME
the call can be put on hold, and recover the rtp stream. (I can hear the other
side again)

If I remove the codec from the voip dial-peer, the codec is G729r8 all the way
though and the phone on the ccm can put the call on hold.
But when i press resume I can not hear the other side.

I have a MTP assigned to the HQ device pool and also to the GK.

I have blown everything away and i have got the same thing again.

Hi,

If you are planning to go for CCIE voice, first complete studying CIPT1,
CIPT2, TVOICE and CAPPS. These will built your foundation stronger. You are
not required to appear/pass all those exams. After then, as suggested by
ccieid1ot, go for CCIE Voice Written.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Home lab PSTN conf

2011-03-15 Thread Wael Agina
Dear Shaun,

I have my home lab also with 2811 and run IPX labs.
You can use IPX PSTN config , you will just need to correct E1 numbers to
match your physical connectivity.
i.e: PSTN port E1 0/0/0 is going to HQ, E1 0/0/1 to BR1 and 0/1/0 is going
to BR2.
In this case check IPX config file for PSTN and modify E1 / T1 numbers to
match your connections.

Also when you setup PSTN , use command [isdn emulate-protocol user] on HQ /
BR1 / BR2 sides to bring up the E1 / T1 as default setting is network side
which is PSTN side.

Hope you nice lab and nice practice.

Hi All,

can someone confirm this for me.in order to get cBarge to work you have to
disable privacy globally under telephony-service or on the phone itself, and
the phone has to be an octo-line. My question is, if I just add the
privacy-button, it does the same thing, correct? Would I still have to disable
privacy at the telephony-service or ephone level?
