[ccp4bb] A Postdoctoral Scholar position opening
A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Oleg Tsodikov at the University of Kentucky (USA), Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, to study mechanisms involved in bacterial drug resistance. We use a combination of structural biology (X-ray crystallography), enzymology, biophysical chemistry and computation. We seek a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. degree and with experience in protein purification and enzymatic assays. Experience in macromolecular crystallography is a plus, but not a requirement. Applicants should email Dr. Oleg Tsodikov at ovts...@uky.edu. Please, include a CV and contact information for 3 references.
[ccp4bb] An open postdoctoral position in structural enzymology at the University of Kentucky
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Oleg Tsodikov at the University of Kentucky, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences starting in early 2018 or later, to perform structural, biochemical and biophysical studies of proteins involved in bacterial drug resistance. We seek highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D. degree and with experience in protein purification and enzymatic assays. Applicants should email Dr. Oleg Tsodikov at ovts...@uky.edu. Please, include a CV and contact information for 3 references.
[ccp4bb] A postdoctoral position opening in structural biology at the University of Kentucky
Postdoctoral positions are is available in the laboratory of Dr. Oleg Tsodikov at the University of Kentucky, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences ( http://pharmacy.mc.uky.edu/faculty/tsodikov/index.php) starting immediately, in the areas of bacterial resistance to antibiotics and mechanisms of oncogenic transcriptional regulators. These projects are integral parts of ongoing highly collaborative translational bench-to-bedside drug discovery and development efforts. Our group uses a combination of structural biology, enzymology, biophysics and computation to tackle problems. We seek highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D. degree and with strong documented experience in enzymology, including protein purification. Applicants should email Dr. Tsodikov at oleg.tsodi...@uky.edu. Please, include a CV and contact information for 3 references. Oleg Tsodikov Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
[ccp4bb] Refmac bond restraints across special positions?
Colleagues, We have determined a structure of a palindromic DNA molecule, in which one half of the DNA is in the asymmetric unit. Is there a way to tell REFMAC that there are covalent bonds across asymmetric units? Without such LINK records in the PDB file, REFMAC treats this as a non-covalent interaction and pushes the two DNA halfs apart. The data are at a fairly high resolution, which helps, but the repulsion is still there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I imagine this situation is quite rare in macromolecular crystallography.
