Re: CF opportunity in RTP, NC--long term contract
Actually, you are posting on CF-Jobs-Talk. That's for discussion about jobs and the job market. CF-Jobs would be a better pick of where to post (more people looking there as well). We (by we, I mean me and by my perception, I think most everyone else agrees) don't MIND it being posted here (as long as it overposted), but if you keep doing it wrong, you may upset some people. :) As a side note, you may want to explain what RTP is as this is a national (international?) list. Whereas cf-jobs-talk@houseoffusion.com is the cf-jobs-talk address, [EMAIL PROTECTED] is the jobs list. Telecommuting is not an option, you are correct. Mind if I ask why? Several qualified people are around to service a companies needs, but with the economy the way it is, you might not find someone willing to move out to where the job is. I know me personally, I moved to Las Vegas for a great job, but office politics got in the way (my own boss didn't want to let me go) and after 2 months, I was let go with nothing except a year lease that I had got and just managed to furnish said apartment (Craigslist was a godsend to clear it all out). Is managing people in person that important that you will only take from a small pool of qualified applicants (who no doubt know they are in demand by you, so they inflate the prices or you pick up someone who is just starting to learn on the cheap and fix the issues as their mistakes crop up)? Telecommuting can be managed well and hopefully, you can find someone who doesn't need much management. It also means you don't have to use up space/equipment/etc. for them being there or relocate them. Just pointing out some things that have been discussed on this list. You may want to consider them and if you have the authority, try to get the office environment more earth friendly (less gas to and from work). You've been very helpful and I greatly appreciate it. Re: Telecommute Question
No first hand knowledge and my comments are pure speculation, But I would think there wouldn't be extra work for the company to hire a non-us resident if they are just doing telecommuting work. I agree fully. Unfortunately, we have people posting jobs who aren't knowledgeable enough to post their contact info in their posts (and are still getting replies from those of us who deal with it as an email list, so there is no motivation for them to change). If Judith and Michael want to fix this (I would figure it would be pretty easy to do), that's up to them. It would makes things on the forum side a little clearer though. :) Vicky wrote: Judith... That would be bad... Is that how your forum software works? If I hit reply on a forum, I would want it to go to the thread I was replying to. Not a private email. Just a few notes (since you put it in jobs-talk). Uday Reddy wrote: Dear Hiring Manager, Human Resources. Not putting the ea seems like you are one of those leet people. :) in Cold fusion applications. out of which 8 years in ColdFusion applications what. You just drop off. out of which 8 years were designing ColdFusion applications is much better. Also, It's ColdFusion. Not Cold fusion. I know personally, if someone separates it into 2 words, I suspect that they haven't been doing it for very long. But that's just me. Extensively used Cold Fusion 4/5/MX/7, Java Just to be clear, you mean Java and not Javascript. Right? The language you write applications with? Impressive, but I wouldn't think you needed Java to do CF Applications. But I may be wrong. , JSP, MS Access, MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, HTML It's assumed that if you do CF, you also do HTML. , Java Script and CSS. Experience in full life cycle of application development ranging from user interaction, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and production support.
